I just finished watching A24’s Backrooms movie directed by Kane Parsons. While it is visually stunning and atmospherically massive, the second half leaves some major physical plot holes unresolved. Here is my breakdown of these physical flaws, followed by a Doppelganger / ASYNC Hive Theory that fixes the script and sets up a solid trilogy for Volume 2 and 3. PART 1: The 3 Physical Plot Holes and Logical Fixes 1. The Vent Paradox (Bobby's Death) Bobby is violently pulled through a tiny metal vent. The bed he is tied to is ripped apart with colossal force. The movie implies Captain Clark (the giant pirate monster) did it, which is physically impossible given his size. The Fix: The killer is actually the Rebar Bug (the wire/bacteria monster from the intro). Its slender, wire-like structure allows it to squeeze through the vent, while its biomechanical strength easily handles the physical weight of pulling the bed. 2. The Glass Window Incoherence (Kat's Death) Kat sees Clark from behind through a window and screams "Behind you!" because an entitiy is approaching. Clark, however, faces a solid wall. The monster grabs the camera and films Clark from behind. The monster ignores Clark, and somehow kills Kat on the other side of the wall instantly. This makes no physical sense. The Fix: The space is split by the dimension. Kat sees the real Clark through a one-way mirror. Captain Clark kills the real Clark instantly. This death triggers the ultimate rule of the dimension: the original must die for an exact Doppelganger to be born. The perfect double is born from Clark's corpse, crosses over to slaughter Kat, grabs the camera, and takes his place. 3. The Red Switches Anomaly Three distorted red switches appear inside the store’s breaker panel before the hatch fully opens. The Fix: The wall is a Null Zone. The boundary became porous, and the dimension physically bled into the real world. These switches grew as Clark's sanity collapsed during therapy, acting as biological triggers for the rift. PART 2: The ASYNC Doppelganger Hive Lore (My Pitch) The Patient Zero: ASYNC opened the first portal via the Threshold way before Clark. They sent a first human test subject (the hazmat guy from the start). The dimension absorbed this Patient Zero, digested him, and created the Rebar Bug. The Infiltration: The Rebar Bug killed the first ASYNC scientists. This is where the trap closed: the entity created exact Doppelgangers of the scientists. These perfect doubles went back up the portal and took over the real-world labs. ASYNC is no longer a human company: it’s a hive of infiltrated Doppelgangers whose goal is to expand the dimension to replace humanity. The End of Vol. 1: Captain Clark kills the real Clark, creating the Doppelganger Clark who kills Kat, hides her head in the fridge, and traps Mary. At the end, the real Mary escapes and runs into the ASYNC scientists (who are all corporate Doppelgängers). PART 3: My Pitch for BACKROOMS 2 & 3 BACKROOMS 2: The Core and The Collapse The Plot: Mary is imprisoned by ASYNC. She notices their behavior is robotic and cold. She escapes her cell and finds Clark’s camera. Watching the hidden footage, she learns the truth: ASYNC is run by doubles, and there is a Central Room which serves as the energy core keeping all portals open. The Mission: Mary dives back into the maze to reach the Core and press the Red Button to shut down ASYNC's power and seal the dimension forever. The Hive Climax: At the Core, the dimension prints infinite copies to defend itself: a horde of Clarks, doubles of Bobby and Kat as guardians, and the final boss: a perfect, upgraded version of Mary herself, created to make her give up. The Countdown and Escape: Mary hits the red button. A countdown starts. The Backrooms glitch and collapse from the center out. The Doppelgangers (Clarks, faux employees, faux scientists) realize they are going to die. Being spatial anomalies, they are physically cut off from the real world and cannot cross the portal. They use their advanced intelligence to block Mary so she dies with them. Mary sprints and dives through the portal at the last millisecond. The Cynical Twist: Mary wakes up on ASYNC's concrete floor. The fake scientists turned to dust. We know 100% she is the real Mary because no monster could cross. But to cover up the scandal, the government claims she is insane. The movie ends with Mary locked away for life in a sterile, white asylum cell that looks exactly like the Backrooms. End Scene: The camera moves out of the window, tracks a fly. The fly hits an invisible thermal distortion in the air and disappears with a neon buzz. The Backrooms survived elsewhere. End of Vol. 2. BACKROOMS 3: Protocol Ripley Years later. The fly's rift has grown into a super-portal swallowing entire cities. The government pulls Mary out of the asylum. No longer a scared therapist, she is now a hardened survivor (like Ellen Ripley in Alien). She leads a heavily armed military squad back into the new maze for final eradication. My cat tore the wallpaper in my grandmother's hallway, and I decided to do something about it, when suddenly she disappeared. I thought, “Okay,” maybe she’d hidden somewhere in a box. But when I started putting up the wallpaper, I realized I was seeping into it, and when I turned around, I saw that I was in an endless hallway, and far ahead of me I could see a light!!!!!!

Ok so basically, I was wandering around an abandoned house in the countryside when suddenly the floor seemed to cease to exist and now I’m in some area with yellow halls, unpleasantly damp carpet, and fluorescent lights. I feel like somebody’s watching me and this is starting to get really weird. If you could tell me where I am that would be helpful.

It was a dark & stormy night, so I ran into the mall to get out of the rain. When my foot slipped, I fell through the floor & found myself in a version of the mall. It looked more abandoned & smelled bad, like mold. I thought it was weird that the fountain was running. When I noticed the lights flickering slightly, I shrugged my shoulders & I started to explore the mall. While I was exploring the mall, it felt like it went on forever, with endless halls & rooms that got weirder. During my walk, I found myself back at the fountain. I groaned as I thought to myself. I looked up at the second floor. I said to myself, "Should I go to the top floor or..." Before I could finish my sentence, I noticed the fountain's water stopped running. I stepped forward to look at the water; at first I just saw water & old coins. But when I leaned in closer to get a better look at it, I noticed something in the water & I noticed it looked solid black & moved like a liquid. Then it jumped out, which caused me to stumble backwards & fall on my tailbone. That's when I heard it shriek, so loud that it nearly hurt my ears. Then I saw it looked like a spider with tentacles, & it had many white, almost human-like eyes, with a creepy wide smile. I kept my eyes on it as I tried to back away slowly & quietly. But it snapped its head forward to look at me & it launched out one of its shadowy tentacles at my ankle. I got up to try to escape, but it already grabbed my ankle & pulled me towards its mouth, which opened unnaturally wide. I tried everything to escape it; I pulled & clawed at it, but it wouldn't budge. That's when I remembered I had my pocket knife, so I quietly searched my pockets & opened it behind my back. Once I got close to its mouth. I stabbed it right in one of its many eyes, & when it dropped me. I got up when I heard it shrieking in pain as it pulled my knife from its eye. I ran for it when I had the chance & tried to find a way out. At first there was nothing, just weird rooms after weird rooms. Then I noticed an exit sign; desperate, I ran towards it & I heard the fountain monster getting closer behind me. When I reached the exit, I noticed too late it was a fake & slammed headfirst into a brick wall. On the floor, groaning in pain as I was bleeding, I said, "Oh, what the fu..." before I could finish my sentence. The fountain monster caught up & swallowed me whole. To this day, that mall I went to shut down & my case was labeled as a missing person case like others before me.

I don't know which way to go. I don't know if it's back or forward; every path seems... endless?

Надеюсь авторы фильма смогу перевести мой текст на английский я думаю мой сценарий будет хорошим сиквелом. асинг достала эту девушку из бекрмуса после чего из бекрмуса начали выбираться чудища не этот хуевый Кларк а именно те черный сплетённые существа по всему миру начали появляться лестнице ведущие в никуда затем героина идёт поплавать в бассейне и у нее что-то падает в самый низ бассейна ей не хватает воздуха чтобы выплыть она отключается а просыпается на уровне бассейн путешествует по нему и потом под ней проваливается пол и она попадает на уровень 7 бесконечный океан оттуда она выбираться забравшись по воде в дом в доме есть дверь ведущая на парковку она там ходит и в моменте свет выключается уже где-то на 40 минуте фильма и начинают появляться улыбающиеся она идёт от них назад и спотыкается и падает с лестницы она встаёт и видит сотрудников асинг которые исследуют уровни они пытаются ее увести но монстры окружают из и им приходится войти в лифт и через лифт они попадают в уровень поляны или как он там где короче огромная зелёная поляна и на ней куча домиков они начинают проверять эти дома и в 1 из них есть длинный пролет по лестнице они спускаться и попадают на уровень беги чтобы выжить только героиня смогла сбежать и попала на 0 уровень потом она нашла также проходы что и в 1 часте и выбралась из бекрумсов вышла из того комплекса асинг а в мире уже твориться Хаус и фильм кончается

It is absurd how much your body can tolerate without food. I think i haven't experienced such a horrid state of hungryness since i was in college trying to make it to month's end with nothing but water from a refill station at the park. Even then, i atleast had that to trick the stomach.

When i saw this McDonald's section of this place i kept my expectations low. I had encountered multiple snacks machines that were empty or simply indestructible on my way, so the idea of hamburgers were a hope i couldnt afford to get robbed of so cruely. Thankfully, although um not the best christian out here, this place was stacked.

There was no gas, but the meat was warm and the buns too. The shelves had it all: lettuce, onions, pickles, bacon, eggs, water and all sorts of soda, all. I kid you not, i cried.

Once i had my fill and as bloated as a dude can get, i lost no time and packed as many burgers as i could carry with me, same with the drinks. Although i know water its the better option, i also filled a few cups with the sweetest of soda. When i get low on food i'll need those calories for a last stretch. Having to imagine the worst of scenarios after such a happy time its putrid, but i cant afford tranquility here.

Im tempted to stay here for a while. Map the area and make a camp but... i dont really want to settle down. Im still not over about what happened at the red hotel and i dont want to remember it. I'll sleep here for tonight, thats all.

entered this mall a while back, lost my balance all of a sudden and fell to the floor below i believe, but there wasn't a hole or anything when I looked up, where did all the people go? might be having a seizure because everything looks familiar but i just can't seem to identify most of it, there is an exit sign here above what seems to be a staircase placed incorrectly but there is no door in sight, feel like i'm going a bit insane

After months navigating these monotonous halls, I have logged my first confirmed interaction with an Entity. The occurrence was structurally impossible, a wooden access hatch descended directly from the drop-ceiling of the hallway, an attic door. Upon closer inspection, the dark void above revealed a distinct shape lurking in the darkness, most notably a pair of pale, reflective eyes anchored in the shadows above the ladder rungs. The creature made no aggressive advance, remaining entirely stationary. However, the psychological weight of its presence was immediate. Though I retreated several corridors away, the sensation of being monitored persists. Survival currently hinges on whether it remains passive or decides to venture down.

I was checking out the area and found a pipe which I could use to defend myself. I'm still scared though, I just feel like an entity is gonna pop out of a corner.

I managed to find the shelves Blanche told me to go to for Level 1, so now I'm back here. I'm kinda scared cause it's dark here, I don't remember Level 1 being dark, and I heard that Smilers could be found in dark places.

I have to admit, i was terrified at first; didnt know where i was or if i could get back, what would happen to my job or what my mom would think of what happened to me, but now that concerns me little if not nothing.

I honestly never liked my job, just constant update of employees papers for their social security and if lucky, organize a birthday party; and my mom, well, she's my mom, not much can be said. I have no partner, so there is that, and although im not one for walking, this place, or, places, are nice to give a stroll around.

Sometimes i hear things. Things im pretty sure are not in my head and that actually scares me. I have never got to see anything weird; i always walk the other direction. I have started to talk alone. I did that before, but im starting to make it a very common habit. I do it to entertain myself, but it does make me wonder: would that help in driving me crazy?

I have been here around eight hours. Ive done nothing else than walk. These places look off even if amusing to me, and im starting to feel hungry. I havent thought about that, what will i do when i get hungry? Thirsty? Need to shower? Change clothes? God, im starting to get anxious.

Anyways, i think thats enought talking to myself for a while. But, to sumarize, yeah, its not so bad.

To anyone who might read this, hello, my name is Adam Streets, im 27 and on the morning of October 2nd, when crossing a hallway to my office, i went through a wall and entered a weird place.

I've since, been walking the corridors of this place, trying to keep myself in the rooms with the most similar architectural style to the building i work at, though they keep changing and becoming weirder and weirder. Its been 4 hours and my feet hurt. I found this computer plucked into the wall, there is no socket, the key is just into the wall. I dont know if this message will be actually delivered, but if it does, please, send help. Im a worker at Harnold & Smithers attorneys at law, my supervisor es John Beckley and my office is at the fourth floor.

There isnt much happening asides from the never ending corridors, but ive heard a rustling at the distance. I really dont want to know what it might be. If i hadnt found anyone yet, its probably for a reason. Maybe cannibals or an animal.

I really didnt want to go to work today, but this seems absurd as fate's punishment.
