I have been living in El Paso since 2010, and every time I tell someone I root for Maryland, they ask if I know Cliff Tucker. He was a big deal here.

Dang. Super solid college player.

Game winning buzzer beater in 2003 to beat UNC-Wilmington in the big dance. We thought we were in an era of permanent top tier basketball that would last for years, following the recruiting boost of championship. Turns out the Ferris wheel of success didn’t stay at the top. We hope Buzz can get us moving upwards again.

2003-2004 may be my third favorite season ever

He also missed a bunch of free throws in the infamous Duke UMD game. I was at that game and I still haven't truly forgiven him for it.

Oh god. The “gone in 60 seconds” game, in the 2000 final four? I (figuratively) blacked out and don’t even remember what happened.

It was regular season but yeah. It was a 10 pt lead at the half in the final 4.

IT was Gone in 54 seconds. :(

Gi60S was during the regular season. They did blow a 20-point halftime lead in the final four though.

The “Mandela effect” has my brain remembering gi60s being the final four but yes it was January 2001

If him and John Gilchrist weren’t such head cases, their senior year team would have been unreal.

Most disappointing player in UMD history.

IF you saw Terrence Morris as a sophomore, you woulda thought he was a future All-American and woulda been a lottery pick after his sophomore year. He got usurped by Juan Dixon the next season and when we really needed him to be the man for that team, he ended up as a third option.

He actually averaged more points, rebounds, and assists as a junior than he did as a sophomore. I think the biggest thing was the expectations. Nobody expected Dixon and Baxter to go from role players to superstars seemingly overnight, so even though Morris was excellent and maybe even improved a bit he didn't hit the expectation of being THE guy.

Indeed, that is what my post said. And there were points we needed him to be the guy and look like a lottery pick, and it never happened again.

Steve Francis, the start of that season we looked unbeatable. So fun to watch.

Chris Wilcox! Electtic. He was our diaper dandy. He would have put up highlights for four years if he stayed.
