Career of one of the best backhands of the tennis history, ending on a missed backhand. A beautiful tragedy. It's the way it was supposed to end. Amazing career, and an absolute warrior. Congratulations and thank you Stan The Man. 🫡

Media Novak Djokovic backs Serbian students again after election victory: “I am extremely proud”

Novak Djokovic has expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of Serbia’s parliamentary elections, praising the student movement that defeated Aleksandar Vučić’s ruling political camp.

Djokovic was asked whether he was satisfied with the election result and gave an unequivocal answer before paying tribute to the students who had sustained the movement despite the pressure they faced.

“Yes, I am satisfied. I'm very happy about it," the 24-time Grand Slam champion said. “My deepest respect to the students and young people who have fought and shown dignity and incredible resilience over the last two years, under humongous pressure.”

"I have a lot of admiration for what they have done and how they have conducted themselves. They've managed to create this kind of sense of pride in all the people, not just in Serbia but abroad as well," he added. “The victory is secured. We all now have hope that our country will be prosperous and that we'll all enjoy the future that is coming.”

The Serbian also addressed the suggestion that he had been expected to make a more explicit statement before the election. Djokovic pointed out that he had already expressed his support for the students on several occasions, before explaining that his status in Serbian society sometimes left him feeling singled out.

“I mean, I'm really grateful that I enjoy a special status in our society and I'm very honored to have had so much support from the people for so many years, but on the other hand, it feels like sometimes I'm the only one there... Like somehow I'm the only one expected to react.”

Epic moments in Sports

Good Bye Stan the Man🇨🇭

His One-handed backhand was one of the most
beautiful shots the sports has ever seen🔥

Wawrinka took down Djokovic in a five set epic,
Then beat Nadal in the final to win his first major.
He was 28 years old

In 2015 He beat Djokovic at Roland Garros with
a performance of pure,fearless power.

In 2016 he beat Djokovic again, this time in NY
to win the US Open

3 Grand Slam Champion🏆🏆🏆

The moment that comes to mind for me is the 2019 Antwerp final against Andy Murray. Stan ended up losing, but it was a wonderful match between two veterans🔥

Forgoing the Asian Games to focus on her aim to reach Top 50 by end of year, Lanlana will defend her Chennai SF next week, all the best to her there

Shaking off a neck strain, Katerina will face Claire Liu in R2; this should be her last tournament before she reunites with Taylor Townsend as the 2nd seeds at WTA Finals

*R2, sorry!

Certainly not a good day for Alexandrova, who seemed to struggle with the sun and wind in addition to her usual trolling ways.

Rakhimova takes advantage of Belinda Bencic’s bye and reaches a second quarterfinal of the season to play either Cristina Bucșa or [Q] Maya Joint!

This also marks the finish of Ekaterina Alexandrova’s season, which ended much better than it started. She barely won a match for much of the first half of the year, but turned it around later on, with her hallmark accomplishment this year being her takedown of then-world no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in Montreal.

Gaël Monfils has said that his divorce from fellow tennis star Elina Svitolina meant he could not see himself playing tennis, leading the 40-year-old to end his career earlier than planned.

In a live stream Monday conducted in French on his Twitch channel, Monfils said that the end of their five-year marriage, which Svitolina, 32, announced in a joint social media post last week, meant that “everything I do is not as good as it used to be.”

“It’s already very hard to step out at the end of your career, with emotions you’ve never experienced before, when you’re also going through a difficult time. … I just couldn’t see myself playing,” he said.
