watching ENG-ITA cricket game with a friend, and its kinda funny how he's losing his mind watching england play poorly, while there's probably half a dozen italians in this world who care about cricket.

I just had a random charge to my pre pay credit card from a site I've bought from before. I had a small panic and cancelled the card. 5 minutes later they emailed me saying it was a mistake and now I have to wait for a new card.
Oh well, better safe than sorry.

I don't follow ice skating but if any of you do, have I understood correctly that this year's tennis equivalent would be that Zverev and Putintseva won mixed doubles and every single of Carlos, Sinner and Djoker faced shocking losses?

After watching press conferences and interviews of figure skaters man tennis players have a lot maturity thing to do, they are like miles behind in emotional intelligence that’s considering probably figure skaters don’t get pr trained

NHL, WNBA, PWHL, MLB, sometimes NFL mainly. Though I don't watch either of these as much as tennis. Stopped watching the NBA at all, but still find it interesting to catch up on updates and stuff, especially because one of the bigger stars graduated from the uni I used to go to
Thinking of getting into soccer, lacrosse, CFL and F1 more, but I sometimes randomly watch curling, archery, beatboxing and speedcubing, though not consistently at all.

I follow football(soccer) leagues, men’s and women’s college basketball, WNBA, and sometimes MLB. I don’t really like American football(but was engaged in CFB for my uni) and don’t follow NBA anymore either

I only just started hearing about FS, and damn to lose as favorite must be a uniquely traumatizing experience. He seems really graceful and sportsmanlike, tho!

At the end I think Ilia showed good character. I takes a lot humility to be able to congratulate your friend like this. They were very friendly at other events too, when Misha won silver at Worlds too. Zverev did even more at USO against Thiem. I think it was great for sport, very moving.

Those must have been such tough moments for Ilia but he was great about congratulating Misha for the gold medal, it says a lot about him as a person.

I’m so devastated for him right now 😔. I hope he has a good support system with him, because not only was he getting insane media pressure he’s also been receiving hate from so many people the last week.
But I’m also really happy for Misha even if it was a bit of a fluke, he was such a dark horse coming into this.

It wasn’t a fluke. He comes from weak federation that’s why he has been underscored for components. His jumps were always top 3. World silver medalist for a reason!

I mean it was a fluke for the current field and he’s been having an off year. He could have been a contender for bronze with a few others but everyone was predicting Ilia-Yuma in 1st and 2nd.

For those who saw my post some weeks ago, I finished The Compound and it was pretty good but definitely not SciFi which is why I wanted to read it.
I'd have been more annoyed if it wasn't good though.

lol! It’s totally none of my business and I’m just being nosy about this but I want to know if Tomljanovic had a falling out with Felix and his wife. If I’m not mistaken she’s first cousins with Felix’s wife and used to be super close with them, they were all over each other’s IG at one point but none of them follow each other anymore. Ajla doesn’t follow Felix and vice versa and she didn’t seem to be at their wedding. The only person she still follows is Felix’s sister. I’ve been super curious about this for a while now. Was there some drama that I missed between them??

As an Australian the Winter Olympics are not much for me but I’m devastated for the Aussie girl who was the defending champion for moguls and came first in all the other rounds and crashed out in the final 😔

Yesssss I’m so happy for her. She’s the first Aussie to win two golds at the Winter Olympics. Also now we have three golds and a silver officially our best winter games ever.

guys idk if anyone else here is double fisting tennis with figure skating but i just need someone else outside of the main sub to commiserate with. ice dance just took my head to the ice and ran over it again and again. extremely frustrating and sad. i was so thrilled for Gilles/Poirier but it's really hard for me to be ecstatic like I wish because of the shitshow that is gold.

This is why I don't like watching sports I don't understand that require judges marks. You can think something was great and it's marked low and then something average can get loads higher and you're like 'wtf'.

I love the snow also! It makes everything look so pretty and cozy. It’s melting now though😭it’s annoying because it’s so muddy it’s hard to keep the dogs clean😭

I initially had something else in mind to contribute to this sub, but something happened earlier in the week that I'm gonna share instead, because it left me quite confused.
I set an alarm for the morning with a particular ringtone I like. I made sure to check that it was that ringtone without clicking on it lest that change it. I also reduced the volume of the alarm so as to not awaken my neighbors. The next morning, an alarm with a completely different ringtone and a louder volume went off. I assumed it was because I might've accidentally clicked another alarm before the other one I set, or because someone was playing a prank on me. I woke up, though, to check the time, after it went off again and, lo and behold, it was the alarm I had set for myself, going off at the right time. Except it sounded different. When I checked my alarm settings, they were the same as the night and none of the settings were changed. I still don't understand how the ringtone got changed or how the volume got changed.......... Confused me quite a bit

Oh my god my phones been doing weird things like that too! I set like six alarms and I’d been sleeping through them all and I didn’t know why. Turns out they’d all changed to ‘no sound’. Why is that even an option? Anyway fixed it yesterday and now I’m waking up normally.

Been pretty consumed with drawing lately. One of my long term goals is to do one of those really impressive graphite or charcoal renderings of a player that you see posted here in the sub every so often, but I’m pretty far away from being able to pull off something like that. In the meantime, it looks like Totoro will have to scratch my creative itch.
