📡 Wireless Technology Worst Service provider Airtel

I had requested for the cancellation of wifi services of Airtel connection and had removed it 3 months ago, the Airtel team after fighting with them multiple times on phone they cancelled my connection and also had taken the router from my place, Till date I’m getting large number of calls from Airtel team asking if I’ve given my router back or not, Do they not have a proper tech team where they’ve updated the status of device recieved or not, I’m totally annoyed by this every 2 days I’m getting a call from Airtel and it’s the same that they’ll update and nothing from their end. How do such a large company handle the customers? Customer experience is a joke in India I feel that and there needs to be strict laws related to consumers.

❓ Question What is it with number management?

What is it with number management? Did someone just hire an agressive cold-calling sales staff using several email domains?

I'm getting email requests weekly for people wanting to set up a meeting to show me their number management software for commercial customers.

📶 LTE 2 years into Packet Core engineering. Is it worth staying in telecom long-term, or should I pivot?

Hey everyone,

I'm about two years into working as a Packet Core Engineer at a telecom operator. I came into the role with an IT background but relatively little practical experience in mobile core networks, so I've been learning a lot on the job.

I've gained exposure to technologies like EPC, MME, HSS, PGW, subscriber provisioning, troubleshooting, and network operations. I'm still learning, and I know there's a lot more to master.

However, I've started thinking about my long-term career prospects and would appreciate some honest advice from people who've been in telecom for 5, 10, or even 20+ years.

A few questions I'm curious about:

Career growth: Is Packet Core a good specialisation to invest in for the next 5-10 years, particularly with 5G Core and eventually 6G?

Job opportunities: How transferable are Packet Core skills internationally? Are there decent opportunities overseas, or is the market relatively limited?

Salary and progression: Does staying in Packet Core generally lead to good financial growth, or are there better-paying paths for someone with an IT background?

The future of the field: With network automation, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI becoming more prominent, how do you see traditional Packet Core roles evolving?

Staying vs pivoting: If you were two years into Packet Core again, would you double down on it, expand into cloud and automation, or move into another area of IT?

I'm not necessarily looking to leave telecom. I just want to make sure I'm investing my time in a field that offers solid long-term prospects.

I'd particularly appreciate advice from people who've worked in mobile core networks for several years, including anyone who's moved from Packet Core into cloud engineering, cybersecurity, DevOps, or other IT specialisations.

If you were in my position today, would you stay and specialise, or start preparing for a different career path? Why?

❓ Question What do you think of my resume? Is it okay that it's long?

Hello, everyone! I'm looking for a new job. I'm a Project Manager and OSP Designer, and I'd like to know if it's okay to submit my resume as is, or if you think it's too long.

Any feedback on how to improve it would be greatly appreciated, and please let me know if you know of any job openings as well!

Thank you very much in advance.

❓ Question How to explain benefits of migrating from 4G to 5G and then to 6G to a non technical person?

I am trying to write an article for non-technical persons/end-users, capturing the benefits of opting for 6G (once it is launched) over 5G. But when I discussed this with one of my friend, who is still on 4G, he asked me to describe benefits of migrating from 4G to 5G and then to 6G.

I wonder if I can get some insights from this wonderful community for this?

Thanks

📰 News SMS in 2026: Is delivery still the only metric that matters?

I've been thinking about how the business messaging industry has changed over the past year.

For a long time, most conversations around A2P SMS focused on three things: price, delivery rate, and speed. Those still matter, of course, but they don't tell the whole story anymore.

Sender identity, traffic quality, registration requirements, and fraud prevention are becoming harder to separate from everyday messaging operations. At the same time, channels like RCS and app-based business messaging are getting more attention.

I don't think SMS is going away anytime soon. OTPs, login verification, and transactional alerts still have a practical advantage: they work across a huge range of devices without requiring users to install another app.

The more interesting question is how businesses decide which channel to use, and how they measure success beyond a simple delivery receipt.

For people working in telecom or messaging: what has changed the most in your day-to-day work this year — routing, compliance, pricing, or customer expectations?

Brown does more then just carry packages. It can also carry electric conversations too. This is just 1 aisle of a Nortel DMS-100 host class 5 switch that is still serving over 18,000 phone lines (conting the all the inter-connected remotes sites). Still humming after close to 40 years in service.
