Ginger "Tea"

I love the flavor of ginger and I have used fresh ginger to make a tea and it's lovely - but not convenient for travel.

I tried some ginger tea packets on Amazon and they were dreadful - dusty and musty

I tried some ginger honey lemon crystals and all I could taste was the sugar..

Have any of you found a tea with strong ginger notes? I know dried ginger is not the same as fresh, but hopefully something with better quality flavor? Thank you

Do you have a Trader Joe’s near you? They have 100% powdered ginger packets that are exactly what you’re looking for. They taste really fresh and have no added sugar.

Just came to recommend these. They are perfect and strong and can be used hot or cold.

Asian stores will have instant ginger packets.

Just dried chopped (not ground or minced) ginger root has worked well for me in the past. I last picked up some from a tea shop local to me, but it’s widely available.

Now I'm going to dry my ginger. I'm really annoyed because it sometimes grows moldy super fast. I currently have a bad cold, too ill for grocery shopping and got a sore throat. Stocked up on ginger on Saturday because I knew what was up and it was moldy. If drying it in slices works that solves the problem in future.

You're right, a lot of ginger-honey-lemon crystals contain so much sugar that the ginger barely comes through. I run a tea brand myself, so I'll avoid recommending specific products, but I'd look for blends with actual dried ginger root pieces rather than just ginger flavoring. There are plenty out there! Check the ingredient list.

Yes. Yogi Tea Ginger is the only acceptable one in my book.
