Currently writing a story where a character picks up vibes between two of her friends and does a reading that will indicate that there’s pretty strong potential there. The two friends in question are still both oblivious; the reader character asks one of them to pull cards and directs them to lay them out.

At the time of the reading in narrative, the reader will not ask questions aloud or explain, just a very short detailing of the cards’ individual meanings will be given; context will be explained later in the story.

For simplicity’s sake I’ll only be putting major arcana cards in the spread; I’ve got some light experience in reading and feel pretty comfortable picking cards to suit my narrative/the characters that are meaning-accurate.

What I can’t seem to find is a spread that will work - all of the ones that I can find regarding romantic potential are like 7+ cards. I’d prefer to keep it simpler; something that is like:

-person A
-past, or what they bring to the table, etc
-person B
-past, or what they bring to the table, etc
-what the potential is for the relationship
-possibly a sixth, detailing what they need to be mindful of

I’d appreciate any resources you guys can provide, or if you personally know of a spread that could suit!

Have you got a problem? Everything will always resolve and people will come towards you, the real center of the universe! It never happens that, probably, you just have to pick yourself up and rebuild your life after a failure, like we all do, because nobody will come after you...

Those people are capitalizing on your worst naivety and attachments. They are telling you to flush your intelligence down the toilet, and just hope… On the basis of a general message, done for everyone, and therefore for no one. Because you are unique, and so generalist messages cannot be for YOU. They are ultimately just for NOBODY.

Please, be smart, and don’t let the worst dumb mentality install itself in you. The world is hard, people are bad, problems happen, and you need your best discernment to navigate life and succeed. But to succeed, you need to face your problems, not pretend they are something else... because the surest way to make a problem become big and swallow you, is to ignore it.

The very same moment that you drop your judgment to attach yourself to false hopes, you’re giving up the best part of yourself in favor of idiocy, dictated to you by commercial formats.

had this pulled for me as a simple past present future reading by a friend. right now I am in therapy processing a breach of trust/potential grooming & abuse from someone who was in a position of authority over me as a teenager.

first two cards are pretty straightforward I suppose- I can see the devil reversed as representing the lack of moral structure and emotional discord in my life at the time and for many years after. the emperor as present is like the methodical approach I am taking to processing what happened, as well as forming my own moral boundaries and values, and seeing the situation for what it was: a male authority figure who should have done better.

future card has me a little worried as I have been feeling some loneliness recently and I know I need to push myself to make some more friends as well as firm up my own self esteem against social anxiety. hermit reversed doesn’t make me feel great about those prospects. I read reversed cards as a call to action, and I guess in this case it seems like a caution against current introspection and hesitance leading me into an unhealthy kind of solitude. My thing is like… I already sort of feel like that! I know I need to take action to widen my circle but it just feels like I am waiting until everything else is settled to do so. So I suppose I am worried that hermit reversed indicates a worsening of this situation rather than an improvement.
Another potential interpretation I have of this card is being shunned or distanced from as a result of speaking out about the past abuse, although this has not been the case so far with my family, friends, or my therapist, despite my fears of that.

Hello everyone!

A little over a week ago (like... 8 days ago) I was delivered a deck. I've been connecting with it by shuffling it often for a few minutes and just, generally, by holding it in my hands.

Today, however, I've noticed that there are some small dark spots on the right edges. They're easy to remove by scratching them away gently, but they're numerous (and kind of annoying, given how much I care for my decks). And it's not the first time this happens to me either: another Tarot deck I have has the same exact problem!

So I wanted to ask: what are those? Is there any way to remove them for once and for all/prevent them from appear?

My cat (Roquefort) died yesterday and I am having a rough time. I had a baby last month and thought my baby and Roquefort would be very good friends.

I pulled the cards with not specific spread in mind. Here is my interpretation

Temperance: I need time to process what happened and with time I will remember him fondly.

The Chariot: Having trouble interpreting this card, the sphinx resembles my cat that was black and white.

I got the Tower and the Star.

I believe the tower is showing me that my current job is insecure and crumbling. And the star is showing me my chosen path is good as it’d be people focused.

Basically the title. How do you improve your question asking for tarot? I find myself defaulting to yes/no questions or something really vague. Sometimes, I feel like when I get too specific the cards that come don't make any sense to me in the context of what I'm asking. For example, I've asked about some recent dreams I've had and tried to figure out if it was my own head or if it was a message or something from someone else. The cards I got didn't give me any sort of clarity about it.

I don't want to overdo asking questions about a specific topic but I have a hard time distilling down what I'm trying to get at sometimes. How do you find that middle ground? Is it just something that comes with time?

I think the Death card is really about transformation and letting go. That fits Emily perfectly. Her true 'death' moment isn't her tragic murder, but her final choice to release Victor and move on. I chose the glowing butterflies to represent both her spiritual rebirth and her literal release at the end of the film.

Going through my quarter life crisis. I’m 24, just got a divorce ending my 6 year relationship, moved on my own to NYC. Having one of the darkest periods of my life. Letting men use me because I feel a desperate need for partnership and realizing how hard it is to be alone. Oscillate between feeling nothing, extreme euphoria when I meet someone new, and almost immediate grief or disgust for the person to follow depending on what ended up happening. I feel so lost. My interpretation: high priestess (my identifier card) signaling that deep down I know what I need to do, I know I’m worth more and I need to trust myself enough to be on my own. Death meaning I need a complete change in how I’m currently operating and perceiving my life, hanged man meaning I’m stuck in these patterns and that’s what’s causing my suffering? Usually I don’t pull all three major arcana at the same time and wondering what this could mean or if anyone has another interpretation I’m not seeing. So In these last two weeks, first I got a seven of hearts lying on street and today I got this six of diamond and both of the time the backside was up and I was just drawn to pick them up. I just need help with what kind of message are being sent? And yes, I have been thinking to get myself a tarot deck from months, and my inner life is also in disruptions so I just meed insights how would you interpret them if you find them lying on street just like that.

Got this six of diamonds on 26th of Oct in broad daylight.

My interpretation is like this - seven of hearts (or cups) for I was unable to differentiate between what is real and illusion, kind of being on the crossroads. Six of diamonds (or pentacles) for justice or karma, kind of light amidst the chaos, like the broad daylight? plus it being the day of full moon.

Usually tarot is used to ask about the future or the present, but can it be used to ask questions such as if I had chosen this path what would have happened and so on ? I don’t think I’ve seen tarot spread like this so far!

Hello everyone, I have a question. I know that some people associate wands with air and swords with fire in their magickal practice, rather than the more common correspondences of wands with fire and swords with air.
Do you still use tarot decks that follow the traditional correspondences of swords with air and wands with fire? If so, do you find it easy to work with both systems by keeping the two sets of associations mentally separate?

I have gotten this card more than any others from my spreads this year, so I decided to be her for Samhain! I also made with witchy circle focaccia loaf "coins" but I can only put in one pic!

Thrifted the dresses from goodwill and then made a stamp for the flower + used arcylic/fabric medium and the coins are repurposed cardboard and paint!

Sure, it can be encouraging once the Star comes along, and I suppose you can look at it as clearing of whats nessacery to attain clarity (Star), but how else can this be viewed as a uplifting message, even though it heralds a tough experience to get there? Would love to see some opinions on this!

For context, ahead of me today is studying(crunching) & doing much needed chores, I interpret this as yes, im in the middle of a Tower-esqe moment, but its temporary and I have the power to make changes to get to the other side, I just have to wield that power with more focused action.

Im fairly new to tarot so I just wanted to check if my interpretation is correct?

Her questions were​​ related to finances and health and housing stability but I just kept pulling up cards that said she had to do the work and also deal with emotional issues that are blocking her. She really didn't like that answer. I ended up pulling 15 cards before I just stopped pulling cards.
