There's this one which is run by one of the mods on here. It looks like it's come back from a brief vacation too.

Yes...well...there's not much I can say in my own defense.
On the plus side, Brandon and I are set to record this week for another one :-)

I CRTL'd your site. I'll queue it up in the morning while I make my breakfast and coffee.

Not really a fantastically technical podcast, but I listen to TWIT when i'm running, it is good easy listening and a good top level view of the technology market.

I listened to TWiT for a long time. Then I grew tired of Steve "OMG THE SKY IS FALLING" Gibson. Also, Leo did one about the experience of buying an Apple product.
I really miss Cranky Geeks.

He's made a long career out of it... OMG did you know that most password generators arent totally 100% random and thefore you can be hacked like a year earlier? That means in a short 84 years they might get that one exchange that happened 84 years ago!

YIKES! I better download one of his tools and apply it IMMEDIATELY. Bye bye huge commercial firewalls, hello app du jour.

Windows weekly if your a windows sysadmin, they talk about new OS' and any time mary j foley is on the show (most of the time now) there is more enterprise stuff in there.

I listened to TWIT for a while but I grew exhausted of it when they did nothing but talk about Facebook/social media and Apple shit. There was so much more going on at the time and they continually gave blow jobs to Facebook/Four Square/Apple. Fucking tired of listening to it.
As a sidenote, I feel like I could do a good Sysadmin based podcast, but I would like an opensource counter part as I am mostly a Windows/VMware based guy. I feel like I would only be able to pander/entertain about 40% of the community with my knowledge base.

Only one I ever heard of was Run Your Own Server but it was fairly pedestrian and aimed at people newer to running servers. I'd still suggest it to people just getting their toes wet though.

Check out the port forward podcast for a smattering of technical topics from tech support / sysadmin to programming with some tech news thrown in as well (also covers some linux and database stuff as well).

For tech news I would suggest the verge. Their articles and podcasts are of a high quality and I've come to enjoy their podcasts more than those from TWiT.

Security Now on the TWIT network is great if you're at all responsible for either end user support or network security.
While we're talking about podcasts, I have no choice but to hit you in the mouth plug No Agenda -- Great show. Love John C Dvorak in anything, and Adam Curry is a.. well... crackpot.

Despite being a regular listener, I have fallen out of favor with Security Now due to Steve Gibson often missing the point or completely misrepresenting the actual threat model. He explains things very well, but he doesn't ever think about business or practicality of implementing security. If you need a security podcast, Pauldotcom is a good entry point.
If you work in a Windows environment (as most people do), I have found Windows Weekly on Twit to be quite good. The tips are often useful and it's a great way to stay current with what is coming from Microsoft.

Gibson makes me want to punch someone, namely him. Maybe he needs to be on meds or something, but he needs to amp it down.

I agree -- the last couple of months especially. However, I think this is somewhat intentional. I think Leo's making space for their new IT podcast that's actually devoted to IT, netsec, things of that nature, leaving SN as more of a teaching tool.

I'll admit, I listen to No Agenda from time to time. John Dvorak has grown on me over the years although his negativity can be a bit tiring. I used to listen to DSC from when it began but he turned into a raging dipshit. He seemed to turn into a major conspiracy theorist overnight and takes things way to far.
With that said, although it is really stupid, for the most part, and overly produced (read: cheesy radio gags), I do get a few good facts from time to time.

To me, the over-produced radio gags are part of the schtick -- they aren't trying to be serious, it's parody. Otherwise, I agree with your analysis. Did you happen to see Adam on TWiT this week? He made the rest of the panel look completely uninformed and ignorant.

No, I stopped listening to TWiT a couple of years ago. Since my commute is much shorter, I just couldn't find the time to listen to it.

The Infosec Daily Podcast does a good rundown of news in the security world.

Byte Into It, from RRR (local cummonity radio station), is pretty cool. Bit more of a focus on computer, industry news and events.

Tech news, basically stuff you can find on Engadget, TheVerge, etc (daily) - Tech News Today
Consumer hardware news (weekly) - This Week in Computer Hardware
Security-ish (weekly) - Security Now!
and when you get sick of tech and IT in general, listen to "This American Life".
