Forensit User Profile Wizard?

Does anyone have experience with Forensit User Profile Wizard in migrating a user profile from the old domain to a new domain?

I’m migrating 6 users to the new domain, and want the transition to be as seamless as possible.

Edit: it worked great for user #1. She had a ton of desktop documents, etc. i manually exported and imported the Chrome passwords and bookmarks. In our setup, I had to connect to VPN before running the tool and afterward as local administrator before signing the user in for the first time. I’m pleased.

It's good for that, and for just 6 users the free version is fine to run manually on each. As u/Fatel28 mentioned it will not move over encrypted stores like browser passwords or app credentials, but everything else stays as is.

That's the tool for it. Just export their browser passwords first if they care about those. They'll be invalidated. Otherwise you should have few issues other than your standard Microsoft sign in annoyances with office apps.

nice, glad it went smooth for the first one. i’ve used it a handful of times and the browser password thing is always the one catch, everything else just kinda slots into place. saving the chrome stuff manually like you did is definitely the move

Nice program. It can even migrate to Azure AD. Takes some extra steps though if I recall.

It’s the best tool by miles.

Also beware, if they have custom / badly scripted programs that hardcode the old user path, the scripts will break and you're going to have a nightmare manually fixing and renaming the paths

I used it to migrate 100 PC's to our domain from an old domain. Worked great, took an afternoon.

It worked great, just be aware what it can't migrate, like browser passwords. Also had an issue where some peoples "offline files" had not been syncing with the network, so had to recover them out of the protected CSC cache folder with "psexec -s robocopy"

We just migrated over 260 users with it with almost zero issues. Our university has managed Chrome profiles so we made sure everyone was signed in before migrating. We were hybrid joining Intune/Entra most of the issues we had involved those pieces, and rejoining via Intune fixed them.

Have used it for years. I recently used the transwiz software to migrate a user from one computer to another (non-domain joined PC's) and had an issue with icons rapidly flashing. Couldn't set default PDF reader either. Couldn't delete the reg keys for http https or .pdf. Eventually got them deleted though and was able to manually set default app for those pieces and that fixed the flickering

Have done ~2,000 workstation domain migrations with it (through GPO scripts), and have another 1,500 to go. No major issues other than needing to export browser stuff like you did when needed. To note that any user-certificate encrypted based things for the "old" domain user will break, as the encryption keys don't transfer, if that makes sense.
