Community Post Got my hands on a physical copy of the game
SWTOR has been a game that I’ve played since 2018, it was my outlet from reality in both high school and now college, dedicating a lot of my free time to playing it. My best friend found a copy of it at a bookstore and bought it for me. Sometimes I wish that I was old enough when they had released the LEGO swtor sets and toys to purchase them but when I get a better job I will try to get my hands on at least one set. Just wanted to make this post because I think it’s cool that I physically have something related to a game I consider to be my favorite.

Discussion Who Has The Better Prologue? Knight or Consular?
I've always found it interesting to compare these two prologues, because they're so similar and yet so different. They both have the same task of introducing a young Jedi learner, while also setting them on a path that has to feel like the beginning of a journey, but also can't spend toooo much time feeling like a beginner because players need to progress. So, which class do you think accomplished that goal better? The Knight, dealing with Bengal Morr and working with the pilgrims to stop him? Or the Consular, dealing with Nalan Rolach and working with Yuon to uncover the lost secrets of Tython?

Screen Shot At least someone gets to use Force Lightning in recent years. Spoiler
Let our Sith Inquisitors use Force Lightning again please.
This is what I wanted to do in 7.6 Tatooine (and others) story mission
New/Returning Player I am confused about the race unlocks.
So I have read the guides and I think it works like this. Let‘s say I want to play a Twilek Imperial Agent. I can subscribe and then start a Twilek Bounty Hunter, level them to 50 and that will allow me to unlock for all Origins, even if I let subscription lapse. OR I can buy the legacy race unlock from the Cartel store, but in order for that to kick in I have to take some character to 10?
Is that right? There’s no way to just jump in?

New/Returning Player Anyone who didn’t like the combat but overcame that?
So, first of all, I’m a big fan of KOTOR 1 and 2 and Star Wars in general. Because of that, I’ve really wanted to enjoy this game (and because I heard it has great stories) but I find myself playing for a bit and then logging off and uninstalling for a while because I just can’t get into the combat. The only other MMO I play is ESO which is an action combat mmo so it plays very differently. I had to get used to looking around while holding down a mouse button in SWTOR instead of freelook, for example. But what I struggle with most, I think, is the tab targeting and skill cooldowns. Which, as I understand, is typical for an older mmo but I never played anything like WoW. It feels very counterintuitive to me.
I have 75 hours in the game and am thinking of installing again (maybe for the fourth time).
Are there any other players who didn’t like the combat at first but got into it after a while, or figured out a way to make it less… sloggy?

Question Could anyone explain what is changing with the classes in 8.0?
I have not played in 2 years. I jumped back on recently and read about the 8.0 update. I still dont understand fully what is being changed for the abillities and such. I know about the level increase and difficulty change. I also know that the gear will have a higher cap. We are also getting new abillities? If anyone would explain better i would appriciate it.

Spoiler Just wanted to say whoever wrote the beginning part of Master's Enigma did a great job.
As someone who has been loyal to the republic up until this point, I really wanted nothing more than to burn it all down and make them regret their choice.
Question Returning player here. How worth doing are the bonus missions and bonus planet series? (Complicated reasoning for the question inside)
Okay so this is a question with a story.
So every time I've come back to SWTOR in the past, I usually end up skipping the bonus missions. Didn't seem important, and I just wanted to focus on the story and character customization.
But this time with SWTOR, I told myself I wasn't going to do that. I wanted to make an effort to collect as many codex entries as possible. Get super invested in the lore and stuff.
And part of that involved doing the bonus missions and bonus planet series. I didn't want to take the risk that one of those missions would unlock a codex entry and I'd miss it.
So the goal was to not leave a planet until I unlocked every single codex entry on it (excluding data crons).
...And then I found out a few things.
First, most of the bonus missions didn't unlock Codex entries. I think the only one I can recall that did that was that one entry mission on Republic Taris that gives you Governor Saresh's entry. While the extra exp was nice, it was still a whole lot of running around...
Second, I found out just how damn hard it is to actually collect codex entries. A lot of running around to get into specific areas to get the lore object, a lot of looking at guides because "guide dang it," and finding out just how hard it can be to track a specific creature.
(In case you're wondering how I, a returning player, wasn't aware of the struggle to complete the codex, I had some degree of awareness about it, but I didn't really get how bad it was until Tatooine, where I learned most of the creatures I needed for the bestiary achievement were in empire territory and that would involve a lot of running around with no taxi and/or fast travel to lean on.)
So yeah, I'm really rethinking this "get all bonus missions" goal now. I'm enjoying the extra XP and the lockbox you get when you finish a planet's bonus series, but I'm just not sure about continuing on about it now that the main reason I was going through with it has been stomped.
So, uh...how worth it is it to do all the bonus missions if I'm mostly playing for the main stories and character customization? And if there are a few bonus missions worth doing, what are they?
EDIT: Also I should note by "bonus missions" I mean "exploration" missions as well, not just the bonus planet series if that wasn't clear.

Discussion DE achievement info
Ok, so I found out you don't need Raider's Reckoning to be active to get The Reckoner. If you happen to be on Malicious Persecution (Republic side), in which you have to free some Jawas who just so happen to be held captive in the same location, doing the quest will also count towards the achievement.

Discussion Hopefully not a hot take: We should be able to bring our own companion in the story missions of later expansions.
It's just that the companions the game provides for the later expansions are abysmally dogshit and they literally can't heal to save their own lives. I think that they should only appear in cutscenes and let us use the max influence companions we so painstakingly grinded for.
I do not believe this is a skill issue as I have Item Rating 340 blue gear that worked perfectly in veteran mode solo flashpoints and various heroic missions.

Discussion For Andronikos Fans- What Do You Love About Him?
Andronikos is one character that I've always tried to enjoy more than I do. I can see the appeal of his character, but I just feel nothing about him one way or the other. I don't dislike him, but I don't like him as much as I wish I did.
So, I wanted to ask some Andronikos fans to share why they love him! I always like hearing from passionate fans, and I'd appreciate maybe some insight into his character that I didn't have before.

New/Returning Player Guardian Vs shadow?
I want to play as a paladin like class, but I remember faintly that stealth is op for leveling/questing. I don’t plan on buying sub for double class.
How much worse is guardian over the shadow in terms of speed?

Question Will the original Droid Carrier bundle ever return?
I’ve been looking at the new Droid Carrier bundle, but I actually prefer the old green one, especially because of the portable bank droids.
Unfortunately I missed it when it was available. I’m tempted to get the new bundle, but it’s a shame it doesn’t include the banks.
Has anyone heard anything about the old bundle coming back? Or whether the bank droids might be available separately at some point?

Question Fastest Leveling 72-80?
I need to help my friend level from level 72-80 as quickly as possible for an RP event. She is terrible at the gameplay and hates it, so the smoother it is, the better. She'll be a subscriber for this and use the exp boosts and the guild exp perk.
What's better? Heroics? FPs?

Question Should I buy 90 or 180 days sub package?
This was posted in the weekly q&a but answers are being deleted so I created a new post
I am planning to sub, I need to transfer 4 char, buy shroud of memory, account wide artifact licence (dont know if it also include gold acesssory), 4 char slot to get 16 char when unsub, buy something (I dont know what) to convert to credit for unlocking max conquest stronghold bonus and legacy unlocks. I have 2k2 cartel coin. Should I buy the 90 or 180 day bundle and any account upgrade im missing? I played f2p for 2 years on and off and i plan to stick for a long time
