Can someone tell me was Karax' "beard" is suppose to be? I mean... that looks painful, the process of it stabbing past his flesh to show itself like that, that is.

I'm Protoss Silver Level 2 about to be demoted to Level 3 and looking for some tips

I just played a pretty fun game - I won, but it was close the whole way, and mostly in the other dude's favor, and kind of flukey after watching the replay. I just uploaded it here:

https://drop.sc/replay/27612129

Any things that stand out that are totally obvious that I could easily fix? I only play protoss. I watched the replay close and there was that one horrible fight in the middle of the map where I lost all my units in an instant, but any other good tips - I'm all ears

I don't like that warning that is saying I'm getting demoted so would like to get back to at least 1750mmr or whatver it is. This match shows me at 1680

Thanks for any advice

New team mate

I’ve been playing StarCraft for a quite some time mostly Protoss, and I’m getting pretty good.
I just think it would be better to play together to bounce ideas off each other and improve. I’m on the EU server, and the highest I’ve reached was Gold Tier 1, but I took a break for a while and got demoted. I think i could of kept going much further but we stopped playing.

Is there any info on when the finals are on Sunday? I'm specifically looking for when the finals are, are they at 6pm or 10pm? There doesn't seem to be any info anywhere. Does anyone know?

Is it worth starting now?

I've always loved RTS games but have been put off SC2 since it looked too overwhelming and multi-task heavy. I'm considering giving it a go but of course I'd want to get into 1v1 ladder to give me that long-term replayability.

I'm in OCE and wanted to know if it's worth trying to get into the game at this late stage? Are there still noobs around or is everyone left just too good?

Edit: thanks for the input everyone, I’m very glad to hear there’s people at all MMRs so I won’t be banging my head into a wall for 100s of hours.

Help me I'm downloading StarCraft right now, what can I expect?

I've never played this game. I know it was (or is) one of the best strategy games that is out there. Any advice, recommendations?
Edit: It seems the first thing I should do is play the campaign . So I will do that

Looking for group LF friends to practice and improve with

Hey everyone!

I recently got back into StarCraft after a pretty long break and have been having a lot of fun relearning the game and working through ViBE’s B2GM series.

I’d love to find a few people who are also interested in improving and maybe form a small group where we can practice together, play games, share replays, exchange tips, and generally help each other get better.

I’m mainly focused on 1v1, but I’d also be up for team games or co-op every now and then.

I play Protoss and I’m currently in Plat, around 2700–2800 MMR, EU server.

If you’re around a similar level, or just have the same mindset and want some people to regularly practice with, let me know!

Something I put together for fun on stream.

Would post in the StarCraft part but was insta-banned permanently for having an opinion on balance. Shows how great the mods are over there to their communities influencers and content creators.

Enjoy!

2900 mmr random player looking to choose strongest race to ladder

Any opinions on which race i should play? On my race report I have protoss 50% wr. Terran 39% and zerg 62%

My worst matchup is tvt at 28%. Pvp at a whopping 88% wr cannon rushing

Perhaps I should stay random and learn to macro all 3 races comfortably. Idk opinions?

Help me Help a zerg main at least finish legacy of the void

Question for protoss vets, ive been a zerg main for a while, and ive played WoL and HoTS a fair bit, and I really enjoyed them both, and recently i tried legacy of the void, but I just can't seem to "get" protoss

I got into starcraft because of the zerg, and ever since I finished HoTS on brutal and been playing on the ladder ive only fell in love with them more an more. Zerglings, a ton of hatcheries, mutalisks, swarmhosts, nidus worms, theres so much I love about zerg that I could maybe even write an essay on it.

When I play them I just get kind of annoyed. Like, I don't feel any satisfaction with marines, theyre just sorta there. I LOVE zerglings, swarming things before they have a chance to react is fun, and if they die, who cares? But zealots just feel, ehhhh?

Ive been trying to enjoy legacy of the void but ive taken breaks from it about 3 times now, and I just dont find myself enjoying it. Im just struggling to get satisfaction out of protoss, even though the other campaigns were really good.

I might just try to restart the campaign for a third time, because I just cant seem to vibe with protoss.

I think the immortal and wizard guy are really really cool, and I want to understand how the protoss tend to play, are there any good basic tutorials on how to play protoss, like, what they're good at?

Zerg have good map control which I like, and they have a lot of fun tricks like nidus worms, dropper lords, stuff like that. I also really like zerg's siege units, the ravager is fun, the swarmhost is VERY fun (even if it isn't really good), and the lurker is fine. Do protoss have any fun tricks and units like that? I like to slowly deconstruct an opponents base and smartly defend in most of my games, I could drop a couple games to show you all as well.

Why free to play and modes were a great idea for sc 2.

I have seen a lot of recent chatter about people blaming the increase in hackers on StarCraft II becoming free-to-play. I think this is a conflation, as hackers appear in all games, and being free-to-play just makes it easier for them. In my opinion, though, more eyes on hackers mean more reporting and more action when they are discovered and proven. Also, not all activities of AI bots are terrible; I think for some players, they can add spice to something that is this old, but they have to be implemented properly. The issue is the abandonment of the game by developers and support; this is always bad and just happens in situations like this. If the game had been made free-to-play sooner, it could have even helped, as many free-to-play games are designed to bring in a bigger group. I would have never found SC2 if it wasn't free, and I feel this can be true for many people who discover games this way.

Checklist for Improving at Protoss

Hey all,

I've been trying to make sure I do as much of this as I can in most matchups, to help me improve. I'm Platinum fyi - climbing up quick. Any tips you can add to the list, or anything I'm getting wrong here?

---Scout every 2 minutes or so - oracle revelation / halluc phoenix / blink stalker map control

---Try to keep 3 sentries in main army & rebuild if they die

---NO ALL ARMY hotkey- use control groups!

---Keep pressure & map control! Blink stalkers / Oracles?

---Expand 3rd ~5:00? 4th before 7:00? 5th before 9:00?

---Think: "What can my enemy do to destroy me right now?"

--Oracles: Use Stasis Field as harass & for defense

--Bring Warp prism with main army for warp ins & kiting immortals/collosi around

--Prepare flanking chargelots/archons

--Keep APM up into mid to late game & don't slow down--- macroing probes/sorting throgh mining bases/upgrades/static defense & batteries w/ extra mineral

--Keep Observer in main army and on enemies army

--Add Double Robo when on 4th/5th base

Report Hackers Here

I seem to have reached a real person by opening a support ticket for patch/install issues. I've never heard of [hacks@blizzard.com](mailto:hacks@blizzard.com) - but I sent my hacker report there.

If anyone is curious - this guy was auto injecting and auto creep spearing without ever looking at his queens https://sc2replaystats.com/replay/27599073 and he also dropped me out of the game to the replay once he lost.

Not that banning him will do much as he can just make a new free account but I thought I'd share that this email exists.
