There it is….

Post image

If the Asian Cup 2027 is to proceed, there’s no way known our lads will be allowed to go there.

In a normal world, this would make it a certainty that the tournament would be cancelled, postponed or moved to another host nation. But this is the AFC….

Will be interesting if the two F1 races scheduled for a few weeks away will run also. Then again they pay the organisers a bundle so who knows if the safety of the F1 teams and fans matter.

If they're cancelled or moved, hopefully the Asian Cup is also. But there's 2 months inbetween them... so who knows. Sigh

Reports say that Imola circuit has been told to get ready (they're now putting up grandstands) to do a race in place of AD and/or Qatar, and F1 are gonna pay for it apparently!

I think they were gonna have Imola be the finale if whichever one is currently scheduled for the end cant go ahead

They already axed Saudi and Bahrain payed to have their race hosted by Malaysia. I personally would love to see the finale in Imola

Yeah I'm fine with there being no Qatar or Abu Dhabi races and we finish in imola. Idm if they'll be replaced or not as the championship is basically done and its just the minor places for the drivers & constructors standings to be decided.

If this has any bearing over the Asian Cup tho.... who knows. I'm sure the organisers will argue for all 3 to happen, and even if the 2 F1 races are cancelled (or moved like Bahrain was), there's a good 8 weeks or so inbetween the events.

Took me a while to realise you probably meant the Middle East war. “This thing” I thought could’ve just been the planet at large 🤣

Well the orange stain said he'd end the Ukraine war on the 2nd day he's in office. So there's a track record of him ending wars quickly.

Wait....

He'd be in his fourth term in office by then, so good chance really...

Give the Houthis a wildcard entry. Saudi, Iran, Houthis and Yemen in Group D: the group of death.

fwiw I used to go to “do not travel” countries regularly for work. They’re not tourism destinations, but for specific purposes and with a system in place to look after your people they’re generally fine.
