After many questions, YES this compendium is up to date und frequently updated (hence the tag). But instead of re-posting this entire list every six months, we update the sticky post :)
Find all available guides and videos, created by our community.
Thx again to all contributors and authors, who helped creating our Guide Compendium!

Greetings, Adventurer!
You are not even sure what mods are or if you want to get them?
You know what mods are, but are new to Skyrim and want to get a nice working modded version with visuals and VR mods but minimal effort?
You are experienced with modding Skyrim SE but are not sure what specific VR mods you need and don't want to go through the hassle of setting it up yourself?
You already played through the game and want to experience some new stuff, make the game more challenging, or up your role-play?
We got you covered.
First of all, mods are modifications to the base game. You install them, they change/add stuff to the game. Some fix things that are broken in vanilla, some improve visuals, some add new content, and most importantly for us, some add VR immersion and interaction mechanics. You can verify if the mods are installed by either literally seeing the thing that you installed in the game or by experiencing the changes ingame. Many mods do not have a Mod Configuration Menu but just exist in the game after installation.
You might ask yourself "Should I install mods before I finish Skyrim VR the first time?" and my personal answer is a clear Yes. You do not have to add tons of extra content, but the base vanilla game (vanilla = unmodded) just has a few broken things, or especially in Skyrim VR it lacks any good modern VR interaction. You will vastly improve your experience if you install a basic set of mods even without altering the actual game content at all.
Nowadays, there exist a few fully automatic mod list installers (Wabbajack). If you are looking for such an automated installation of curated mod lists, scroll down to "Auto-Installers".
But before you just install these, let me show you around by explaining the most important mods for Skyrim VR in an absolutely minimal list for an as-fast-as-possible manual modding. It is subjective, of course, as all lists are, but I think many can agree on most of these.
If you don't want to install more than that, and you want to install mods manually, install these! If you just want to know what the awesome mod authors here have to offer, read these for a quick overview!
The list is still pretty vanilla, other than the VR-specific things and some visuals. If you want to stray off the super-duper lightweight path and include some changes to the game itself or feel like you have time for more than 10 mods, you're better off checking out our very comprehensive Guide Compendium, which contains all the knowledge we collected over time. We also have a comprehensive list of VR Specific Mods that includes some important mods that couldn't make it into this list for the sake of minimalism.
It does not matter much if you use Vortex or MO2 as your organizer, but don't use NMM, it's old and outdated. Vortex is a little easier to use with shorter lists, which is why we recommend this for our target audience here, i.e. you readers who want a fast manually modded Skyrim and then just play. Make sure to read this guide on how to enable modding with Vortex first. There’s also a video guide on modding with Vortex if you prefer that. GamerPoets also has video guides on other SkyrimVR modding topics. As said, Vortex is easier for small lists and people who only want to mod the mentioned mods below without much more. Vortex also works for larger lists but at some point, it is easier and recommended to use MO2 for large and complex lists.
If you want to build a complex list in MO2, you should pick the FUS Wabbajack list below and use the basic profile only, as it comes with all the fixes and little things premade.
I also recommend you check out these ini tweaks and Bilago’s Tool to edit the ini files easily.
Without further ado, here's the list:
Extra, because it takes a bit more effort:
Also: No modlist is complete without Swearing Mudcrabs, and using Realm of Lorkhan you can skip the annoying cart ride intro ;) And if you like to support u/Rallyeator, go check out his made-for-VR texture-pack!
Don’t use some of the mods that are often recommended:
Surprisingly, some mainstream mods can cause issues, like Birds of Skyrim (very script heavy, corrupts saves), Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons (known to cause issues later on when higher level), Immersive Patrols (especially the large battles can cause freezes and script lag, the lite mode is apparently okay), Immersive Citizens (has a lot of conflict potential, sometimes blocks quests, can also work though, but depends), JK’s Skyrim (can drop framerate by a lot and can lead to AI conflicts or item clipping), Open Cities (can lead to conflicts, can be performance heavy), Diverse Dragons (can cause crashes).
-------------------------------------- Auto-Installers --------------------------------------
Wabbajack mod lists are auto-install mod lists that change your game from vanilla to the exact full state of the list in a matter of hours, and you can go play right away.
We recommend using Wabbajack.
We still have guides for manual installation, but these might be outdated at some point and really, Wabbajack has options for everyone nowadays :)
There are five official Skyrim VR Wabbajack lists:
Here is an elaborate comparison video for the lists visuals and performance.
Have a look at these lists and decide what you want to check out. They are low-effort so you can also switch them if you don't like them. If you used Vortex so far and want to try out a modlist you'll need to press "Purge Mods" in Vortex and do not deploy afterwards, to stop linking the mod folders to Vortex' setup.
For questions regarding the Wabbajack mod lists, please head over to the Wabbajack Discord server or the respective individual discords of the lists.
Welcome to the sub and HAVE FUN! :)

Bloquer/parer physiquement
Attraper des armes dans mon dos
Utiliser des étuis de corps
Saisir des objets
Lancer des armes physiquement
M'accroupir physiquement
Me baisser pour ramasser des objets
Exigences liées à l'échelle de la pièce
Gestes VRIK obligatoires
HIGGS/PLANCK obligatoires Interactions
VRIK
HIGGS
PLANCK
Simple Realistic Archery VR
Weapon Throw VR
Auto Sneak and Jump VR
Crouch To Dodge VR
Merci !

I fell for the hype. bought skyrimVR and started researching how to get the optimal experience with mods.
im currently following a tutorial how to get FUS modpack through wabbajack and the nexus downloads are killing me. ive been here manually clicking the download button for 45 minutes now and im only done with 25 out of 539 mods.
by that calculation it should take 970minutes to download it all. this is simply not possible to achieve. shouldve researched that the mods were paywalled.
if anyone has any solutions..
please
help

Just a quick update this time. We tried urSovngarde (skyrim vr coop mod) with Mad God’s Overhaul (MGO), and so far it’s working pretty well!
To test it we did a little duel against each other. The video shows the fight side by side from both perspectives, me (Seenfront) on the left and my girlfriend (Dosyila) on the right, synced up so you can see exactly what each of us sees in the same moment.
There’s still a lot in MGO we haven’t tested yet, so it definitely needs more testing. If you play MGO and want to try it, we’d love to hear what works and what doesn’t.
Otherwise on FUS its starting to be a very good experience!

HEY Y'ALL! I found many different topics that are from around 2020-22 of many different ways to port the owned creations from the AE edition to VR.
I found the AE content picker. Which seems more recent with a tutorial from our god and savior GamerPoets on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-_Rly_si7E
It does feel like this is the latest way of doing things and it does feel like the definitive way of doing it.
I tested it and it is simply working like it was meant to be! So for anyone with Skyrim AE and VR you can merge the Creations in a really easy way!

I have always wanted to role-play as a Noble in Breezehome that cannot leave my bed because I keep stuffing my fat face with sweetrolls and apple pie. I want Lydia to wipe my ass for me because I can no longer do it myself.

I am on quest 2 and pretty much anything more than a few feet away are super blurry and pixelated, I have a 9070xt so I can probably run most graphic mods but I honestly just want the game to not look super blurry/pixelated, I’ve messed with both steam and oculus link resolution settings but neither really worked, if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

so, i've seen all the cool new releases for Open Composite for VR with a Valve headset, and Community Shaders for VR, and all the updates.
what modlists currently use those? I know MGO is working on a 4.0 that incorporates both CS for VR and OC for steam/valve headsets.
any others?

Anyone have SkyrimVR FUS mod pack running with OFXR bridge with hybrid mode working and if so able to provide tips on how to get it working?
r/skyrimvr • u/Zuofu • 5d ago
Here is the link to Nexus Mods, but basically it pulls face tracking data via OSC from your headset and uses it to modify your character's expression. Mostly only useful for taking showcase videos of character presets in VRIK selfie mode (since Skyrim VR is a single player game after all), but might be amazing combined with some of the multiplayer mods out there.

Also if someone wants to make an updated version of Popping Khajit, which lives rent free in my head, please do so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc-xZkKX3qs

Hi, this is my first time playing Skyrim VR on my new Steam Frame headset, wanted to play it with the Mad God's Overhaul mod pack. I believe I have everything installed correctly. I can get into character creation in the prison and adjust everything however when I select Done and the pop up saying 'Finish and name your character' I select Okay and nothing happens..
I have googled the problem and can see many others have experienced it on different headsets, wondering if anyone with a Steam Frame knows a solution or does the headset not matter and does someone have a solid solution for it? I used wabbajack to install and launching the game through Mod Organiser v2.5.2 if that helps.

im working on building new worldspaces you can travel to by road/sea that adds the entire countries of tamriel, they add all major cities, towns, landscapes, bioms, islands, dungeons with random shops, inns, homes for sale, people, bandits and rulers..... but thats it, no major quest, just kinda empty fun to explore and fight. Working on Hammerfell first and going quite well cuck-coding so far for day one, should be able to poop one out every week/month. really the question is: What country would you want to see next after hammerfell? and what other basic thing would you want to see in these places?

I'm a huge TES fan and your typical immersion player, with billions of mods on needs, survival, cooking, bathing, whatever. As a veteran flatrimer I was extremely excited about finally getting a headset and finding some time to play SkyrimVR. After modding it for hours and then troubleshooting bugs and crashes for days I finally started a new playthrough.
But unfortunately, even though I really want to love this game, I don't find it nearly as immersive as I though I would...! Flatrim did it better for me... it has something to do with the fact that all the wonkyness in Flatrim didn't really bother me, my brain experienced the game as an "interface" for a story mostly playing out in my head. Here I am visually fully immersed in the world, yes, but the problem is that all the graphical, animation, dialogue, combat flaws etc typical either to Skyrim or to video games in general hit me very hard all the time. I constantly notice what I ignored before which is a killer for the suspension of disbelief. Anyone felt something similair or am I alone in this...?
UPDATE: Ok after spending more hours in the game I def made progress. Getting used to controls and the visuals, increasing dmg delt and received, setting some mods in such a way as to avoid using menus (incl voice control mods) as you suggested and making a fresh alternate start away from Whiterun helped massively! If the experience keeps getting better like this I'm in for a great time, fingers crossed

Recently bought Skyrim vr, out of the box it’s dog shitttt. Have started modding and I’ve gotten to the point where I’d like a survival mod for immersion and gameplay. Every mod I’ve attempted to install hasn’t had any success, sunhelm with papyrus extended can’t seem to determine an address library? Recommends the newest address library mod but it’s up to date and I’m drained from trouble shooting and too stoned send help sos ✨✨✨
Would love to hear others experiences and if they’ve had similar issues

Sorry guys, i tried reading the sticky but it seems to discuss much more complicated matters than I am facing.
I try to play it on steam frame (streaming from my pc, not running natively).
First of, all the input hints are incorrect, but that's probably manageable, i think? (i haven't figured out how to open the main menu tho, some combination maybe?)
then i start the game, finish the card ride and get to naming my character. "Finish and name your character - OK/Cancel", i choose OK, and then... nothing happens. No input box for the name. No button on my controllers lets me progress. What do I do?
I am quite familiar with pancake skyrim modding - MO, skse, LOOT, TESVEdit, all that stuff, i even made some tiny mods myself. But before i dive into that part i just want to see the game work at all.

I took a break from playing Skyrim and when I came back I found that there is no toggle for weapon display cases, racks work fine, wall displays are good, and I can still lockpick the cases open but then afterwards I can't close them and I can't open ones that don't have a lock on them, I don't have physical weapon collision, I don't know what could be causing this problem, can someone please help me?
