Silent Hill (1999) Just started this gem for the 1st time today
As a big fan of resident evil i'm truly impressed of how good this game still holds up today and i could easily say that so far i'm liking it alot more than classic Re1.
so far i've managed to solve the piano puzzle (i'm proud of this one lol) and got to the nightmare school.
feels great to experience the og silenthill DNA once again (i've only played 2 and 3 )

Merchandise I Met the Legendary Usagi Tanaka During My Solo Trip to Japan!
Meeting him was such a surreal experience! Since I was traveling to Japan and I enjoy collecting autographs, I decided to message him, and to my surprise, he agreed! I didn’t want to come empty-handed, so I bought him a Robbie the Rabbit jacket from my local Hot Topic that he had wanted, plus a few other goodies! Meeting Usagi in person was truly one of the highlights of my Japan trip. We talked for a while, primarily through translation apps. He was very sweet and kind, and he even surprised me with some gifts from his Zombie Bunny line and a little Robbie :). I'll cherish these gifts and autographs in my collection!

General Discussion The *NEW* Definitive SILENT HILL PC Install Guide || UPDATED REGULARLY
\Updated 10/19/2026])
This guide prioritizes official releases, native PC ports, emulation, and recreations in that order.
A L L U S E R S M U S T R E A D :
Use Ctrl+F to find the game you are looking for.
ALL games require the apps detailed in the [PREREQUISITES] section.
This is a remake of this old guide. Older methods are detailed there.
If you have a question, please ask in the comments.
Check if you question has already been answered in the comments first.
If not, start your question with the title of the game you need help with.
PLEASE DO NOT DM ME. THANK YOU!

[INTRODUCTION]
This guide is intended for Windows 11 ONLY. (Windows 10 should also work.)
Any additional support will be for Steam Deck.
I cannot personally test Steam Deck guides but will provide resources as I find them
Each section will prioritize the native PC experience, but will also list the recommended emulator and basic settings to run it optimally. If no native PC experience yet exists, the emulator instructions will be more detailed.
NOTE:
Emulation is NOT illegal.
This guide is aimed at preserving these games, not piracy. At the time of writing, many of these games are no longer available for official purchase through KONAMI. If any official and purchasable method becomes available, I will update this guide to reflect the official version as the preferred method.

[NOTE ON PLAY ORDER]
All SILENT HILL titles can be played in any order.
The series is an anthology series with independent stories. Playing the titles chronologically may include references to past titles and Easter eggs to reward long time players, but are not essential for the experience.
The only caveat is that SILENT HILL 3, SILENT HILL ORIGINS/SILENT HILL ZERO, and SILENT HILL: SHATTERED MEMORIES all have some relationship to the original SILENT HILL (1999).
SILENT HILL (1999) can still be safely played after these titles, but it is still highly recommended to play SILENT HILL (1999) first.

Fanmade Some concept art for war related silent hill monsters I made
Thought about what some monsters could look like for a war veteran that was involved or bystander in war crimes. I was thinking about things like being held captive, tortured, starvation, and woman/children affected/abused/killed during war.

Fanmade A updated showcase of my fortnite map, Silent Hill 2 RECREATIONS a year after it's release. Code is 8055-3746-4726
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Wanted to post an updated showcase of my fortnite map with it being over a year since it's initial release. A lot of stuff has been added since then and I thought I'd showcase how it is now! This doesn't include footage of the new location "Flower Shop" as this was filmed right before that update dropped.
Code: 8055-3746-4726
Silent Hill 2: RECREATIONS is a project made on
Fortnite Creative/UEFN to bring in as many locations from the game as possible into a Fortnite Creative map. This is not a recreation of the entire game; it is purely a passion project that can be explored and used for hangouts.

Merchandise Anywhere/any artists you would suggest checking out to buy some merchandise (fan, official)?
I intent to buy some Silent Hill merchandise but for where I am from, any fan merchandise or slight chance of finding official merchandise is… very hard to come by. Every convention I have attended, its very very scarce and I was happy to buy some Heather Mason stickers. I would not mind buying official stuff so long the shipping is not as harsh.

General Discussion Report: Silent Hill 1 Remake Targeting 2027 Release, First Cast Details Revealed
r/silenthill • u/Evol-Chan • 19h ago
Silent Hill (1999) My thoughts on mostly Silent Hill 1 and a bit on 2, from someone who always respected the series and FINALLY beat two of the games this month (and soon 3)
So, I will mostly be talking about Silent Hill , the first in the series.
Some background: I have known about the series for a long time and in fact, Silent Hill 3 was the first actual silent hill game I played as a kid. I was very young and I didnt absorb much of it. I didnt understand the very deep plot. I just played it and knew it was a scary game, but it was a special game and a very scary game, and still is.
Its October and I decided to finally play through the original first 3 silent hill games and play through silent hill 1 and I was surprised how much I love the original SH1. Despite it being an old game from the PS1 era, it still manage to make me feel scared and have an amazing unsettling atmosphere with an OST that is amazing.. The otherworld design is honestly my favorite in the series (I have watched many silent hill streams of the games) and just, so much. I have beat SH2 as well but I have always believed Silent Hill 2 to be a masterpiece, although I have known about SH2 longer..I have watched my family played SH2 and known about its twist and many many lore vids.
SH2 is a 10/10 for me as well like SH1 and havent beaten 3 yet. So far, SH1 is my favorite tho, it just such a great horror game and probably one of my favorite horror games I ever played.

General Discussion Movie Recs for the “vibe”
That post on Hokum was hilarious. So many people shitting on that movie, but there’s more likes on it than negative comments hahaha. Silent Hill? More like Silent Majority.
Then there were a few people making their OWN recommendations, and people under THOSE movies saying the same “its not even close to SH” things.
SO! I don’t want opinions, just recommendations. These were all mentioned under Hokum, and I want more. Yes, I’ve seen Jacob’s Ladder already.
I don’t want you to look at someone’s comment and say “that’s not silent hill” because I GUARANTEE you, someone would say the same thing about your movie idea too. Just gimme the goods, and let’s all be happy. They can share a vibe, they can be like Hokum and feel like a video game, whatever.
Oh but yeah I saw a guy say The Mist, and while I love it, that’s a hard no lol. That is the only “its not even close” that’s valid. It’s got fog, and a parallel dimension, but that might be about it as a film. Maybe the book is closer, but this aint bout books is it?
Thanks!

Silent Hill: Townfall (2026) Townfall Framerate Changing
The first couple times I played, I didn’t really have any issues. But it seems like now I can’t consistently stay above 50-60 and it feels all around stuttery. Did anything change? Is there a frame gen option I am missing?
i9 13900K
64 GB DDR5 6000Mhz
RTX 4090
Playing at 4k and DLSS on (Quality, Balanced, Performance don’t seem to change fps at all) RT is off.

Silent Hill: Townfall (2026) I don’t ever wanna play townfall again Spoiler
galleryokay so real quick and spoiler free ofc:
- Combat is clunky as fuck, you might as well not fight any enemies and just sneak, but that just makes the playthrough even more tedious, I don’t think there’s any balanced middle ground when it comes to that so eh.
- Story is very interesting, they don’t really make it clear what’s going on until a bit later in the game, so I advise you take your time reading emails and collecting documents, the depth of the plot is intriguing and makes the experience much better
- characters aren’t that captivating to me, Simon is very basic and has more of a linear protagonist kind of characteristics. We don’t get to play as Zoe or Richard that much so they feel completely neglected gameplay wise, I wish we had more time with them instead of throwing all our focus on Simon, but he’s supposed to be the main character so I guess I get it.
- the world is not as immersive as other SH games, St Amelia sometimes feels too large and you end up wasting a lot of time blindly running around, but rarely would you get lost. The other parts of the game are a hit or miss.
This is gonna be my one and only playthrough, I don’t ever wanna touch this game again, still had my share of fun tho.

Silent Hill 2 (2001) Did I imagine a Silent Hill 2 PS2 cover, or did it actually exist?
Hey everyone!
I’m currently having an existential crisis over a Silent Hill 2 cover I vividly remember from my childhood, but apparently can’t find anywhere online.
This is pretty much my last attempt before I accept that I might be losing my mind.
Around 2011–2013, my mum bought Silent Hill 2 for me from a second-hand game store in Germany. I remember the cover being very light, almost entirely white/beige, both on the front and the back — somewhat similar in overall appearance to the PS2 cover of Silent Hill: Origins.
The front looked something like this:
James was standing small on the right, surrounded by fog.
On the left, there was a huge, ghostly portrait of a woman’s face, taking up almost half the cover. (Not sure about that)
The Silent Hill logo was at the top, roughly centered, with the words stacked on top of each other.
I’m not 100% sure about every detail, but that general image has stuck with me for years.
When the Silent Hill 2 remake came out, I remember thinking, “Oh shit, they actually stayed pretty faithful to the original cover!” I even told my friend about it. Ever since we talked about it, he’s been convinced I made the whole thing up.
And honestly, maybe I did. But I’m weirdly convinced I remember it because I never even finished the game back then it scared the absolute hell out of me when I was 13.
I’ve searched cover databases, old forums and fan art, but I haven’t found anything that matches my memory.
Just to be clear: I’m not claiming this was an official release! Maybe it was a fan-made cover, a custom print, a rare regional version, or maybe my brain just mashed a few different images together over the years.
Does anyone remember seeing a cover like this? Or does anyone know of similar fan-made PS2 covers from that era?
Please help me solve this childhood mystery.
Thanks in advance!
