General Discussion Asking fans: What's your LEAST favorite part of the game?
Lots of people bring up their favorite stuff with art they love, and spend very little time talking about their gripes. I'm curious what y'all have to say you didn't enjoy.

Fanart first and 4th years after
I'm not active in the SIGNALIS community much. I even found out about this game since Nov 2022. But I only made fan art and posted it on my social media. I'm too shy to be active with others
But I just noticed how long it has been since I made some art for this game
I'm so happy with SIGNALIS for 4 years now, that amazing.

HELP Help with health system
Hello, so I just got this game and decided to my first run on survival with classic inventory as I do have experience with survival horror games.
So far I have made it to the butterfly box without many issues, mostly just evading enemies wich seems easy enough atm.
Anyways, currently my HP is on the low side and decided to use a health patch, which states heal over time yet after using it and waiting a bit I see no difference at all.
How long is the heal over time? And is it more optimal to use those over the spray+? Or should I keep the sprays for bosses and use several hp patches at safe rooms to heal?
P.S., getting downed in 2 to 3 hits sure is kind of harsh, then again, enemies seem to be blind moslty if I walk around so i guess there is that
Thanks in advance :)

Lore Discussion My own collected thoughts and considerations on the story and lore, in celebration of Signalis' birthday. (obviously SPOILER) Spoiler
Since it's been two days that I started to recollect thoughts and find info on Signalis, and comment on different posts with various walls of texts, I've decided to collect them all from comments into a single post explaining my take on timeline and story, but especially to celebrate its birthday (same day as my father!), as a wonderful game and a wonderful love story against all odds.
This will be a very long post, before you dive into it with some snacks and hydration, I highly recommend/advice to first finish the secret ending of Signalis, and all three endings before it.
Signalis' solar system is akin to our own solar system, implied to be an alternate version or outright analogue.
Buyan corresponds to Venus, and is the capital of the Eusan Empire.
Vineta corresponds to Earth, the flooded "cradle of humanity"
Kitezh correesponds to Mars, the red planet desert.
Rotfront corresponds to Callisto/Europa, an icy moon or settlement orbiting a gas giant equivalent to Jupiter.
Heimat corresponds to a Saturn-equivalent gas giant, it is the seat of the Eusan Nation.
Leng corresponds to Pluto, and is site of the S23 Labor-Re-education facility.
The backstory of Signalis centers on a brutal interplanetary civil war between the Eusan Empire and the Eusan Nation, two factions fighting for control in the above solar system. The Empire was the originally unified body of humanity, with a Grand Empress in command. She was a near-mythical messianic figure with god-like bioresonant powers, which she used to mentally bend humanity into a single state, terraform planets, propel civilizations into the stars; she also created replikas to lift the physical burden of the empire off humans backs.
The empire was very religious, a feudal state centered on the worship of the Empress. However there are weird signs in game that something went wrong: on the longest day of the year, the Empress was crowned; on the next, she did nothing; on the third, she was wed; and on the final day, she took her own life.
The Eusan Nation is a rebel faction that was born out of dissent, founded by The Great Revolutionary and her Daughter. The ideology is akin to Totalitarian Collectivism, Authoritarianism and Industrial Efficiency.
The bioresonance is worshipped in the Empire, but is strictily censored and feared, or otherwise weaponized, in the Nation. The working class outer planets rebelled against the Empire's rigid bioresonance caste system, seizing three of the six core colonial worlds. The planets of the Empire are named using Russian, while those of the Nation are named in German. This lead to mandatory conscription in the Nation, absolute conformity and an outright totalitarian state, stripping the individuality of everyone. Books and information related to the Empress or the Empire are strictly prohibited, along other media based against or not aligning with the ideals of the Nation. Currently the war is at a sort of stalemate.
Ariane Yeong is a human Gestalt (official terminology used by the Eusan Nation to refer to ordinary biological humans). Gestalt implies a unified whole that is greater than the sum of its parts: human's consciousness, personality and soul. Replikas are created by scanning the brain and memories of a specific Gestalt donor; every LSTR (Elster) Replika is cloned from the neural pattern of a specific, long-dead human soldier.
Gestalt are human, but the Eusan Nation is a totalitarian government where they are not treated with dignity: they're resources, labor disposal or tools subjected to strict surveillance and mandatory military services.
Ariane was born to her mother Iris, whom was a radio officer, spending her first years living on an isolated interplanetary outpost on the colony of Rotfront. This led her to live with very little outside human contacts, traditional schooling and mandates, and passion for painting and art.
Unfortunately her aunt, Kamilla, arranged for Ariane to move to the heavily urbanized Sektor C on Rotfront, concerned by her lack of development. This lead to a clash with the conformist society she suddenly had to integrate herself in, standing out for her white hair (premature achromotrichia if not mistaken) and was severely bullied at school. Only the friendship with the Itou sisters (Erika and Isolde), along the work at her aunt's bookstore, was giving her comfort. Erika defended Ariane from bullying, but in turn got heavily attacked because of it in her stead: three masked students physically assaulted and kicked Ariane, Isa witnessed the beating but was too tired to intervene, Erika stepped in and it lead to retaliation.
The Itou were secretly smuggling/selling "questionable literature", exposing Ariane to poetry, art, philosophy, all forbidden by the Nation.
Ariane graduated at 16th from the Mandelbrot Polytechnical High School on Rotfront (Mandelbrot.... almond bread, heh. Joke it's based on Benoit B. Mandelbrot, from wikipedia: Polish-born French-American mathematician and polymath with broad interests in the practical sciences, especially regarding what he labeled as "the art of roughness" of physical phenomena and "the uncontrolled element in life").
A teacher recommended her for rigorous discipline, leading to her draft into the Eusan People's Navy for compulsory military service on Rotfront Orbital. This due to Ariane's non-conformist love for her arts.
Ariane spent 450 cycles training as a Long-Range Radio Operations Officer, a cycle being equivalent to a day more or less. However she continued to secretly dabble in blacklisted arts and music, but separated from her only friends, leading to depression, alienation, and desperate loneliness.
AEON, which was in control of the Eusan Nation, created the Penrose Program as a low-cost, deep-space scouting initiative. The program was celebrated in nationalist propaganda as a glorious, pioneering demonstration of the Nation's reach, but in reality it was a cold, mathemtically doomed suicide mission.
Scout ships that were built for failure were launched outside of the solar system through an orbital mass accelerator (I loved learning the word in German for this, ORBITALE MASSEBESCHLEUNIGER), towards the Oort Cloud to scan for resources. The probability for the ship to find an actual habitable planet before failure of the engine or life support was relatively non-existent.
Ariane might not have been accepted in a specialized military program, leading to forceful redeployment to S-23 Sierpinski, a brutal penal colony doubling as mining site on the frozen world of Leng.
This thought became unbearable for her, leading to volunteering for the Penrose Program, specifically Penrose-512 mission. She was "sick of Rotfront, of schoo, of the photo store, sick of the fake smiles, whispering behind people's back", and thus decided that the secluded program born out of propaganda was the logical, or only, escape from all of it.
Ariane thus got assigned the ship Penrose-512, with the Replika LSTR-512 (Elster).
To create mass-produced LSTR units, AEON scanned the brain of a woman that participated on the war on Vineta, as part of the People's Army, 5th Vinetan Infantry Division, Unit 12.
This soldier survived the brutal trenches of the ocean planet, but suffered a severe injury to her right eye.
She was close to a soldier named Alina Seo. Per standard AEON protocol, once she was selected to serve as the incorruptible ideal template, her biological body was permanently cryogenically frozen, her real name and records scrubbed from public memory, so we do not know her true name, but it might've been either Anna Huang or Lilith Itou. The Elster unit paired with Ariane is structurally different from the original Vinetan model, because the Eusan Empire launched an assault that completely destroyed the central Neural Archive on Vineta, leading to the original, pure neural template being vaporized and lost forever. The Nation was desperate to continue the program through the LSTR models, thus they took a decomissioned LSTR and used her altered brain as the new baseline blueprint for all future Generation 5 Elster units.
But that Replika had already lived in part, resulting in a "dirty" code: LSTR units are inherently haunted by their past, thus forbidden to look at war photographs, watching movies, listening to music; they all trigger "persona degratation", bleeding back Gestalt memories into their consciousness.
Alina Seo was discovered by Ariane in the past, while seeing a wartime photograph of Unit 12 and showing it to her mother: she remarked that Ariane and Alina looked so much alike that they could be twins. In the same photo, Anna/Lilith is present. If it's Lilith, she's an Itou, thus connected to the people Ariane loved. If it's Anna, then she's connected to the butterfly safe having keyword LSTR. Both of them, unless I'm mistaken, are injured in the right eye during the war. Thus an LSTR that was born of a veteran on Vineta was paired with a young woman, Ariane, resembling the close friend in arms of that same veteran.
Ariane and Elster were not close at first: the early days saw a stiff, awkward professional distance, in line with the Eusan Nation conditioning. Elster spoke only when spoken to, following directives imposed by AEON, as a tool whose programming shouldn't be altered by human sentiment or affection.

Lore Discussion A thing about adler I thought about that Im confused on Spoiler
Been getting into signalis talk after a friend beat it and wondered why if adler figured out that the loop reset every time an elster unit died, why did he keep continue to kill them? I get he wasnt really doin okay mentally, but is that just the answer to that or did he have an actual reason?
