How do you keep track of multiple coding projects without losing your mind?

• Upvotes

I've been working on multiple software projects, and one problem I keep running into is remembering where everything stands.

Some projects are actively being developed, others are almost ready for release, and some have been sitting untouched for weeks.

GitHub is great for tracking commits and PRs, but I still find myself manually keeping track of overall progress, milestones, and what I should work on next.

I've been using a spreadsheet for this, but updating it gets tedious.

For people working on 3+ projects:

  • How do you keep track of everything?
  • Do you use GitHub Projects, Notion, spreadsheets, or something else?
  • Is this actually something you struggle with, or do your current tools work well enough?

I'm exploring whether this is worth building a small tool for, but wanted to hear how other developers handle it first.

LetterBoxD was complicated to use + UI is not the best => I made my own version of it!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My friends introduced me to LetterBoxD and a couple of other movie (and also restaurant) ranking apps and I had some problems with all of them!!

First of all, how should I compare something like F1 movie with something like God Father! They are in different genres! And how should I rate them on the same scale? Even worst, I don't think that we should compare movies and series on the same rankings!!!!!

In addition to that, letterboxd makes it so complicated to use that I don't bother adding half the movies I watch on it.

So I decided to come up with my own version called Cinephilia. In Cinephilia we compare movies head to head and only within their own genre so that we have a fair comparison. I have developed a small recommendation model of my own on top of the app which runs locally (no api, or external AI is used for the recommender and everything is in house) on the devices and recommends movies to the users based on what they have seen. When you search for movies, you can see the description, where to watch, and the rankings of your friends for that movie.

You can keep track of the rankings and the ones you have seen in the cinemas. It also shows record for the actors, directors and studios you watched the most movies from.

I have recently published it for free (no ads, no hidden fees, no in-app purchases, nothing! This is a side project not a business lol)

Feel free to give me any advice that you think would be useful for this app.

You can get it if you like it from App Store from here.

I built Codecast to explain repos, PRs and agent-written changes as narrated videos inside Claude Code and Codex

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all, I’m Sid, and I’ve been building Armature, a system that turns dense, complicated, high entropy information into rich, well explained videos. Codecast is our applied product for code and agentic work.

You ask your coding agent something like:

• /codecast explain what this repo does

• /codecast walk me through the changes you just made

• /codecast explain this PR or explain this plan before we build it

Your agent picks the relevant files and lines, and a minute or two later a narrated walkthrough video plays right in the chat. It shows the actual code, diagrams of how the pieces connect, and a voice explaining why it works the way it does.

Why I built it: agents write a lot of code now, and reading a big diff or onboarding to an unfamiliar repo is the slow part. A 3–5 minute video is often the fastest way to actually understand what changed.

Details:

• Works in Claude Code and Codex (app or CLI) on Mac or Linux.

• Only the code your chat selects is sent, never your whole repo, and it skips secrets files.

• Setup is one paste: you copy a prompt into your agent, it installs the plugin, and you click Connect in your browser.

It's a free beta and I have 100 spots: https://app.armature.ai/register?invite=codecast-reddit-3f2uwyxyakzp

After signing up, go to https://app.armature.ai/codecast for the setup prompt. I'd love feedback on what's confusing, what you'd want explained, and whether the videos actually help.

After my paid clipboard manager went subscription, I built a free, open-source one for the Mac

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For years I used a paid clipboard manager. I bought a license, then the developer changed everything: a subscription, a pricier paid version, sold elsewhere and differently. My license stayed stuck on a version from years ago, no updates, no support. After a while I got fed up and built my own. It's my first real macOS app.

It's called encore. ⇧⌘V opens a shelf of your recent copies: text, links, images, files, colors and code, each as a card you can recognize at a glance. Return pastes into the app you were in, Space previews, ↑ opens the full library with search and filters.

Version 0.5 came out today:

- Snippets: ⌘S on any card gives it a name, a language (guessed among 85) and tags. They get their own tab and never expire

- {{placeholders}} ask for a value before pasting

- Favorites and snippets sync between your Macs, peer to peer on the local network, end-to-end encrypted, no cloud

Everything stays local: no account, no subscription, no telemetry. Native SwiftUI + AppKit, 30 languages, MIT licensed.

A few things I learned along the way:

- Pasting into "the app you were in" is harder than it sounds: you have to give focus back to the right window at the right moment

- Without a paid Apple developer account, a stable self-signed certificate is what keeps the Accessibility permission across updates

- Pairing two Macs safely with just a 6-digit code took more reading on ECDH than I expected

Website: https://kamasoutra.github.io/encore/

Install: brew install --cask kamasoutra/tap/encore

Source: https://github.com/Kamasoutra/encore

Not notarized yet, so the first launch needs System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Feedback and feature requests are very welcome!

Hey everyone, a little while ago I shared Pitchcraft here before it launched. It’s a Wordle-style daily puzzle where you get one frozen moment from a match, place your defenders or send your runners, and watch it play out.

Based on feedback from the first post, I:

  • added the ability to share a spoiler-free result

Still a work in progress. I’d love to hear what keeps you coming back, or what would make you stop. Try it out here, free and no sign-up required: https://pitchcraft-roan-alpha.vercel.app/

Prism – A minimal launcher focused on Samsung smart monitors

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I mainly use my Samsung smart monitor as a desktop monitor, so I wanted my HDMI inputs before the apps, without going through the bloated Samsung smart hub screen. That’s what started Prism. Inputs come first by default, but you can customize the order to suit your use.

I focused on getting the everyday things working properly: the physical Home button, starting after a cold boot, and switching HDMI inputs. These work on my setup, and app icons are pulled directly from Tizen’s APIs. I also worked through rough edges I ran into while trying arn0 and AeroTizen. I’m sure there are things I’ve missed, but I’ve spent a fair bit of time using and testing it.

For the look, I kept it simple and curated around 50 wallpapers from a few Linux distros instead of the usual gradients. Sharing it in case someone finds it useful, or wants to use it as a base for their own version. Check the tested-device details before trying it, and if you get it running on another model, do share how it goes.

Tested on: Samsung Odyssey G70B (LS28BG702EWXXL)

I built a free app that puts my Windows PC on my phone: watch any window live, tap to click, and talk to it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Pick a window on your PC from your phone and it shows up live, with sound. Tap to click, two fingers to scroll, type with the phone keyboard. Works on the same Wi-Fi or from somewhere else.

While you're watching, you can also just talk to the PC:

  • ask its assistant something (same model, same memory as on the desktop)
  • tell it to do things, like "play Believer on YouTube", or "email me the Q4 project report" (it finds the file on the PC, attaches it in Gmail and sends it; that part of the video is a real recording)
  • dictate into whichever window you picked, and it gets pasted there

The part I spent the most time on is not making this scary:

  • the PC has to allow each phone, once
  • seeing windows is its own switch, and it starts off
  • view and control are separate; you have to switch to control on purpose
  • in live view, tapping a button that sends, buys, posts or deletes asks on the phone first (voice commands just do what you asked, unless you say "let me check it first")
  • the video goes straight between the two devices over WebRTC, and only goes through a relay when there's no direct path. Nothing gets recorded or stored on the server

Back at the desk it also does meetings: hit record before any call, no bot joins, and it writes down who said what (your mic and the call's sound are kept as separate lanes). When you hang up you get notes with decisions and follow-ups, and you can ask it questions about the meeting later. Works with any meeting app since it just listens to the PC.

The AI bits can all run on your own PC with no API key (local speech models, llama.cpp, or your Ollama / LM Studio).

Limits, honestly: live view and control are Windows only for now, and the phone app is Android only (APK from the site).

Repo: https://github.com/ishangautam7/Talvio Android: https://talvio.sentramind.dev/download/android

What would you use it for first? I keep going back and forth on what the default screen on the phone should be.

I Want to Build Something Useful, But I Don't Know What. Where Should I Start?

Hi everyone, I am starting something new along side my job but currently I have no ideas and explore the world, to find ideas I have some option to find ideas which is best according to you:

  1. Using Ai.

  2. Inspire from others and replicate ideas but not copy.

  3. Talking with people to understand problems.

I think there are more option but right now I know these 3 If you have other way you explain and tell me which option you will chose?

First users needed for a community-based platform

Hello everyone!

I've built a platform for posting about needs of people that's equipped with analysis tools that can help get insights from social feedback. Ideally, this place can be a full on base of potential business or feature ideas for entrepreneurs that are actually sourced from the public. But I'm alone at this, and I desperately need the first activity, a couple dozen posts just for it to have any value on launch.

Here's the site if anyone wants to participate:

Also I'd be very grateful for any feedback and criticism. Especially if something breaks. Thanks to everyone

I built a tool that keeps the same AI-generated face across every photo and video (identity prompt + 1 reference photo). Looking for feedback

Side project turned product: The AI Model Lab. The problem it solves: AI image tools give you a new person every time, so you can't build a "character" for a brand or a content account.

How it works: you write (or pick) an identity prompt, add one reference photo, and it generates a 6-angle reference pack. Every photo or short video after that reuses the pack, so the face stays the same. There is also a "speech" mode (the model says your script with a synced mouth) and a 60-second prompt builder for people who don't want to write prompts.

Stack: Next.js front, NestJS API, Postgres, Redis queues, several image/video model providers behind one credit system. Interface in EN/ES/PT.

Honest notes: it is an 18+ platform (adult-only, fictional characters, AI labels on everything), and generation costs credits after the welcome credits. Not linking the adult side here.

Try the prompt builder (no login): https://funis-production.up.railway.app/modelo60/en?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=sideproject

What I'd love feedback on: the onboarding (3 clicks to the first photo) and whether "consistency" is the right thing to lead with. Disclosure: I run this.

I built a native macOS “Dynamic Island” to replace 5 utility apps

I built Recall, a native macOS app that turns your Mac’s notch into a useful productivity workspace.

Instead of switching between multiple apps, Recall brings several everyday utilities into one place:

🎙️** Voice transcription — transcribe system audio and microphone input locally.
📋 Clipboard history — quickly access copied content, including OCR.
🎵 Music HUD — convenient music controls.
📁 Temporary file shelf — keep files handy for quick access.
🌦️ Weather and widgets — useful information at a glance.

One feature I particularly wanted was meeting transcription without having to send a bot into the meeting.

I built it natively for macOS.

I’d love to hear your feedback! What other features would you want in an app like this?

I built a checker that compares Stripe payments to who has access in your app. What edge cases am I missing?

I'm a solo founder, new to this, and PaidCheck has no users yet. That's part of why I'm posting: I'd rather find the holes now.

The problem I'm trying to catch is Stripe and your app's own database quietly disagreeing about who is paying. Two versions of it:

  • Someone paid in Stripe but the app never gave them access (often a webhook that failed, or a different email at checkout than at signup).
  • Someone cancelled, or stopped paying (past_due, unpaid), in Stripe but still has paid access in the app.

How it works: you give it a Stripe restricted key (read-only; full secret keys are refused), and tell it who has access in your app. That can be a small secret-protected endpoint that returns email, plan and active, a CSV, or nothing at all if you only want the Stripe-side checks. It matches users by Stripe customer ID first, then customer metadata, then email, and flags mismatches. It also flags double charges and webhook problems like undelivered events or disabled endpoints.

There's a free one-off report. The page says it uses the key for a single request and keeps nothing. Paid plans ($19/mo for 1 app, $49/mo for up to 5) run the checks daily and send an alert email when a check finds a new issue.

Question: if you've run subscriptions in your own app, what Stripe vs. app-access mismatch has bitten you that matching by customer ID, then metadata user ID, then email would not have caught (team seats, a different checkout email, lifetime deals, comped users, something else)?

Free report, if you want to try it on a test-mode key: https://paidcheck.app/report

I'll read and answer everything, including "this isn't worth building".

I saw Mapademic on Reddit and edited for football players. It's become a player chaining game called beyondMate!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

TL;DR

I have been building a football elo rating website and decided to use Mapademic on my football players database. Ended up with a game, connecting players through teammates, where you, as a user, also get an elo rating for your football knowledge. To play, click here.

Story

The video and the summary above probably tells it all but let me put it in a broader context. I am working on a website for elo ratings of European clubs and players. For a new website like mine, it is difficult to get traffic at the initial phase as you all can tell. Just putting the numbers and a bunch of fancy charts took me to somewhere but not at the pace I was wishing for. Judging by the analytics, most people who landed at my app usually spend a few minutes and leave, without any turning back. So I was looking for a way to get users to come back. During this thought process, I came across Mapademic. A wonderful open-source project with an amazing visual level, basically I loved it. The moment I saw it, I thought, why not connecting the players instead of academicians. This made even more sense since my db only contains ~30k players against more than 8M academicians.

What It Is

You are simply given two players from the top 3000 (based on their elo ratings on my app) and asked to draw a path from one to another through the players who shared the pitch at least once with the previous player. For example, Messi and Ronaldo can be connected via Di Maria as a player who shared the pitch with both GOATs. Based on the ranking of the players, every puzzle has a difficulty level. You get a score based on the length of your chain and other details explained in the video. Then your elo also increases or decreases so that you can show off your friends about how knowledgeable you are. There are other modes of play like Climb where the rating of the player has to increase at each step so it narrows down your options a bit. Just like any player, you also get a elo progression chart and a player page where you can track your games. If you are not a competitive person but a curios one, just go to Explore mode and discover which two players can be connected via which path!

Downside

Data. The more data, the funnier it gets. However, finding a affordable public data source for line-up data is difficult. The one I have covers back to 2009/10 so some of the old icons are unfortunately not there, or some stats are incomplete (You will see Ronaldo does not have 900 goals yet). Yet, more than 15 years of coverage can also provide a lot of fun!

Credits

As mentioned, the open-source Mapademic project was the main driver of my work. You can read his post here as well.

Where You Can Try

Of course it is free to play and no sign-up needed. Only if you want to create a profile, get a persistent elo rating and appear in the leaderboard, you need to sign-up.

Simply, click here and start chaining! Feel free to give any kind of questions and comments!

A laser at a live show burned my camera sensor, so I built an app that heals the damage in every photo in 1 click

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Got my A7IV camera hit by a laser at a live show recently. Same pink dots in the exact same spot on every photo since. Pixel mapping didn't fix it and I couldn't afford a sensor replacement.
I tried spot-healing every photo manually but it got repetitive and draining fast.
So I built Unburn. How it works:

  • You calibrate once with a batch of raws, and it finds the dots that never move between frames. That's your damage map.
  • You drop in your edited exports, and it matches each one back to its raw, so it knows where the dots land even after crops and resizes.
  • It heals them all in one click. Tricky spots fall back to content-aware Remove, and there's an optional offline generative mode.

Built with Python and PySide6, runs fully offline on Mac and Windows. Sold through Whop, site on Netlify.

The free trial scans and heals with a watermark, and you only pay to export ($39.90 lifetime or $9.90/month).
thatsnowsky.com/unburn

It's a pretty niche problem, so I'd love feedback, especially from anyone who has laser damage on their camera. Finding raws to test the calibration is also very tough, so I would appreciate anyone who tests and let me know or gives me their damaged raws to test!

I built a privacy-first AI career copilot for students — JD matching, interviews, research Q&A (open-source, live demo, no signup needed to try)

I'm a student, and I spent the last months building Study Buddy because I was annoyed by two things about career prep tools: the good ones cost money, and most of them want you to upload your resume to somebody's API with no say in the matter.

So I built an open-source (Flask, MIT) career copilot: resume readiness analysis with bullet-level evidence, JD matching, mock interviews, aptitude/DSA practice, and research-paper Q&A with citations.

The part I care about most: your resume doesn't have to go to a third-party API. Three privacy modes:

  • No-LLM: full rule-based functionality, zero AI calls
  • BYOK: your own provider key, encrypted at rest, never logged
  • Local: point it at Ollama, your text never leaves your machine

What it has now: an application tracker (interview kits, offer comparison, referrals, deadlines, CSV import), a salary explorer with real ranges (34 roles, 408 entries), an opportunity radar with 128 real curated entries, a portfolio builder, a career health review, XP/quests/badges, and an Ultimate Lab with 91 runnable tools across 30 features and guided paths (Resume to Offer, 30-Day Sprint, Interview Ready).

Real-content banks, counted: 1,455 interview questions across 46 companies, 660 quizzes across 22 skills, 815 aptitude questions, 495 DSA problems, 110 certifications, roadmaps for 30 skills and 20 roles.

A few honest notes: scores are labelled heuristics, not real ATS predictions. The sample mentor profiles are clearly marked illustrative and can't be booked — 0 real mentors yet, real ones apply and get verified. Synthetic benchmarks are labelled synthetic. No fake users or traction anywhere.

Try it with no signup: demo — full resume demo, nothing stored.
Repo: github.com/Vivek492005/STUDY-BUDDY (first load can take ~50s, it's on Render's free tier).

I'd love feedback on two things specifically: does the loop (resume → mock interview → weak-topic drills → tracker) match how you actually prepare? And are the privacy modes enough for you to trust it with your resume?

I built a free tool that turns manhwa chapter notes into a YouTube recap script

I run a manhwa/manga recap channel, and scripting takes me longer than editing. So I built ManhwaScript: you paste your own chapter summary, pick a tone and length, and it returns a script, 5 title options and a description.

What I used: a small Node backend on Render's free tier, a single HTML page and the Gemini API. No accounts for now, 3 free uses a day per visitor.

Try it: https://manhwascript.onrender.com (the first load can take up to a minute because the free host sleeps).

I'm checking whether other recap creators would actually use this. Feedback I'd love: Is the script usable as a first draft? What would you want it to do that it doesn't?

Shipped my face shape detector 2 weeks ago here what the feedback actually was

Posted MeFace here a couple of weeks back. Expected people to care about accuracy. Almost nobody asked about that.

What they asked about was privacy, whether the photo is stored and whether it works offline, and the fact that one clean label like "oval" is usually wrong because most faces sit between two shapes. Both of those are now what I'm working on.

Lesson for me was that the thing I spent most time on wasn't the thing people judged it by.

Made a daily guess-the-footballer game where solving it too fast sends you to VAR

it's called iKnowBall – one mystery player a day, colour-coded clues on league, club, nationality, position and age

the bit i'm proudest of is how it feels. get close and the card starts pulsing, your phone buzzes and a heartbeat kicks in through the speaker… gets tense 😂

and for the proper football heads – solve it in 3 guesses or less with no linked clues and your result goes to VAR. you can appeal, but your solicitors are busy in Abu Dhabi. i review every case. plausible gets you a green VAR check. if not… 115 charges and a points deduction

free, no sign-up, new player every day

I built Amitte, an open marketplace for AI agent skills, agents and MCP servers. Looking for honest feedback

Hey r/SideProject 👋

link: amitte.com

For the last few months I've been building Amitte (https://amitte.com) solo, in evenings and on weekends.

The problem: every useful agent setup I've built ends up with a pile of prompt files, tool definitions and MCP server configs copied between projects. There's no good place to find, share or version these. They live in random gists and repos.

What Amitte does:

- 🔎 Search for agent building blocks. Search covers skills (markdown instructions an agent loads as context), agents and MCP servers, and matches by meaning as well as

keywords. "Submit an app to the App Store" finds the right skill even if it never uses those words.

- 🧩 Compose. Describe what you want your agent to do in plain English. It plans a solution, reuses existing entries where it can, and drafts new skills or tools where nothing exists yet. You watch the plan stream in live. [upcoming]

- 🔌 Hosted MCP tools. Describe an HTTP API as a tool spec and get an MCP endpoint you can plug into Claude Desktop, Cursor and similar clients without running your own server.

- 📦 Publish from the web or a CLI. You get versioning, a trust tier (unverified → verified through a DNS check on your domain) and an automated review: schema checks, prompt-injection lint and an LLM-based safety score.

- 🤖 Works for agents as well as humans. Every entry has an llms.txt and a JSON-RPC API, so agents can find and fetch skills themselves.

What I'd love feedback on:

  1. Is the idea of a "registry for agent skills" clear from the homepage within 10 seconds?

  2. Would you publish something here, and what would stop you?

Brutal honesty welcome. It's early, and I'd rather hear what's broken now than later. Thanks!

I built 137 file converters that run entirely in the browser — then tested whether the big online converters upload your files (6 of 6 did)

Hi all — I'm Diego, a solo developer. Over the last two weeks I built **Free Forever Converter**: 137 free tools (HEIC to JPG, compress/merge PDF, ChatGPT to Word with real equations, CapCut to DaVinci Resolve, WhatsApp chat to PDF, and "Wrapped"-style recaps from your own Spotify/Netflix/Strava exports). Everything runs in your browser — your files never leave your device. No account, no watermark.

Because "nothing is uploaded" is the whole point, I wanted to know how the well-known converters handle it. So I sent the same made-up 3 KB PDF through six of them and logged every request the page made:

* **iLovePDF, Smallpdf and PDF24** uploaded the file the moment I chose it — before I clicked anything

* **CloudConvert, Convertio and FreeConvert** uploaded it after clicking Convert

* **On my own site:** zero requests carried any data

That's not a scandal (they say they delete files after 2–24 hours), but it matters for contracts, bank statements or ID scans. The write-up includes how to check any site yourself in one minute with the browser's Network tab: [Do online PDF converters upload your files?](https://freeforeverconverter.com/guides/do-online-converters-upload-your-files/)

I've also published a few other measurements (compressing 15 real PDFs at four levels, HEIC vs JPG on 208 iPhone photos, phone vs laptop speed) — including where my own tools did badly. The PDF test actually exposed a bug where scanned PDFs came out blank; fixed the same day.

Site: [freeforeverconverter.com](https://freeforeverconverter.com)

I'd love feedback: which tool is missing, what breaks, and whether the "check it yourself" method is clear enough. It's funded by ads (pending), never by your data.
