Are my favorite. Especially when Mickey is a bridezilla.
Why do we require such long titles for posts?
That is all

I just love this character, weird since I hated him during the first seasons.
I'm currently on season 5 (just started) and I enjoy every scene he's in

Found Shameless from random TikTok clips and now coming to the end of S9. Everything has been almost perfect from S1 thru S8 but after Fiona lost her money, property, etc then her character has been almost too ruined. Not to the point that ''if the acting makes you angry, she's doing a good job'' but rather unpleasant to watch.
I get the downwards spiral into alcohol but it's waaaaayy too much.

I love season 4 of Ian and Mickey. As depressing and chaotic that season is, most of my favorite Gallavich moments are in that season. The reuniting scene, the club kiss scene, the coming out scene. So good.

If some guy would break into the house, harrass Fiona and Debbie, beat up Lip and Ian, stole almost their whole possession, and kidnap Carl, Fiona would still say “Gallagher dont snitch” idiocracy to the police when asked about him. Seriously-I always wondered how did they come up with this BS, best assumption is that’s something drunk Frank told them when they were younger and they follow it blindly

I have just finished watching all 11 seasons of Shameless US (I am in the UK). I never watched the UK version so I dont have anything to compare it too.
I do have a few musings/observations:
- Fiona fought so hard to get guardianship of the children, yet she regularly left them, overnight, to be with men. Behaved in a way similarly to her mum by abandoning them.
Then she left them for good, with only Frank as a guardian, did Lip take over legally?
- Where did Fiona go? They barely speak about her which makes no sense as she was such an integral part of the family. Then she ups and leaves and no one speaks about her again.
- I have no idea how buying a house works in the US but how did fiona go from buying a house, to a laundrette, to a block of flats?!
- I think Debbie is just like frank, her behaviour towards franny is heartbreaking. Fiona had her flaws but at least she cared about the children and they werent even hers. Debbie wanted a baby so much and then behaves like frannty is an inconvinience.
- Liam basically raised himself, there were people around but he did it alone. I still dont understand how he is franks son, I know theres throwback genes and genetics but it seems very extreme.
- Why do they keep letting frank live in the house, fiona owns it not him. They still allow him to come in and use their stuff, make a mess and be a nuisance.
- How can lip sell the house when its fionas?
- I absolutely adored Ian and Mickey, their story arc is fabulous. Although I have no idea how Mickey managed to get out of prison.
I might have more at another time but am looking forward to hearing other peoples views on my musings.

It just seemed lazy writing to me that they didn’t have Lip become successful.
He’s shown off as a genius but it doesn’t make sense for him to never understand his own potential while struggling for a few thousand dollars every single time.
I believe the troubled genius trope didn’t work this time.

Just got to the final few episodes of the last season and I feel like Frank hasn't done anything too devastating and he's been a pretty decent grandfather to Franny at least.
I feel bad for him, maybe he hasn't completely redeemed himself but I don't feel he's as bad as he used to be.
Anyone else waited for a redemption arc for Frank?

So because Lip and Tami want to buy a house they have to kick everyone else out!?

Although there isn't any evidence to suggest it, do you guys think Fiona loved jimmy so much that she actually missed him after he left like say maybe after a year he left for good?

I recently finished all 11 seasons, it took me around 3 months to watch the show entirely, these are my impressions:
Seasons 1-5: I agree with most people here, those were the best seasons of the show and the most fucked up in my opinion, those were the seasons where the show got its charm from IMO.
Seasons 6-9: I'd say this was the beginning of the end. These seasons felt different from the first 5, the humor became dark and less grotesque, I felt the show lost its appeal when this change took place, however I did enjoy how the characters evolved in a way it seems they were going to slowly overcome their issues, Fiona was working at Patsy's and became a property manager, Lip went to college, Ian was an EMT, Debbie went to Trade school and Carl to military school. I felt really sad when Fiona left the show because the show was not the same after this. The heartwarming and sad part of season 9, was when Frank said goodbye to Fiona and acknowledged her help raising the guys by telling her "You did well". I also agree with one of the previous post, when I say that season 7 felt like the end or it could has been the end of the show.
Seasons 10&11: This was the closure needed for the show. At the beginning it felt like Debbie and Lip were trying to replace Fiona, that felt a little bit odd however it made sense since someone needed to be in charge now. What I really enjoyed about these 2 last seasons, it was the return of Mickey full time, I read it was after Cameron (Ian) negotiated his return. Now to the bad, I really disliked when some episodes turned a bit political, I understand these seasons were filmed during the pandemic and maybe the script might has been funny back in 2021 when the season aired, but now it only made me roll my eyes to the back of my head. The last episode is heartwarming and sad at the same time, seeing the family going their separate ways, Mickey and Ian moving to the west; Lip, Tammi and Liam moving out to a new house maybe, Carl and Debbie renting a place and Kevin and V moving to Kentucky. It was sad seeing Frank in his deathbed having his life flashing before his eyes, floating up, reading to his kids the goodbye letter he wrote, and watching them from above while all they sing outside the Alibi. It really put some tears on my eyes.
Final thoughts: I enjoyed it in general, probably won't watch it again, however I do regret not discovering this show when it first aired back in 2011, me of 15 years ago it's not the same me of today, I'm sure I'd have enjoyed much more back then but maybe I'd have stopped watching it after season 6 lol, like many people have mentioned in previous posts, probably because the decline of the show or maybe because I tend to grow away from shows that have too many seasons. Thanks for reading.
