Others/Miscellaneous Small Cases with Vesa Mount

I posted this too in r/PcBuild, but I thought it might be useful to ask on this sub too.
I am looking for small cases with a VESA mount which I can use to mount my monitor directly to the computer.
Like the one in the pictures.

This specific one is ITX and I was hoping to find a similar mATX case to repurpose my current desktop, or just look at other options before purchasing.
I am trying to build an all-in-one solution, is anyone has different ideas, I am open to any suggestion.

Thanks!

Others/Miscellaneous What’s the one SFF build compromise you would never make again?

Small-form-factor builds look amazing when everything fits together neatly, but I feel like the hardest lessons usually come from the compromises you don't fully appreciate until you've lived with the PC for a while.

It might be choosing a case that's too restrictive for your GPU, underestimating how much cooling matters, dealing with fan turbulence, or realizing that cable management is much harder than it looked in someone else's build log.

I'm especially curious about the things that don't show up clearly in photos. A build can look perfect on a desk but still be frustrating because of noise, temperatures, difficult maintenance, or limited upgrade options.

For those who've built multiple SFF systems, what would you do differently if you started your current build from scratch? Was there a particular case, component choice, or layout decision that taught you the lesson?

Build/Battlestation Pics an absolute joy - 4090 FE FormD T1 build

In love with my new 4090 FE everyday machine.

big feet or little feet? The big ones are a bit bulkier which i actually quite like but they leave a mark on the wood - but better airflow (?). i wont actually have it on the desk either

Either way. Obsessed.

My 5060 solo did make a lot of noise when installed in the zs-a4m v3 5,4l.

Decided to go for it and cut out the side panel with a Dremel.

Printed a ring to make it nice again. Also used some back glass tape to seal the gap between the GPU shroud and the side panel.

Very happy with the result!

Custom Mod recommendations

just finished 2 builds and getting ready to start my 3rd, but the case i want is out of reach so for my next build i like it to be a sandwich type ITX with 3-slots for the GPU and 300mm+ clearance . GPU on one side and CPU on the other. and case has to be no more than buck fifty. im also open to trying out a open-case for a ITX, even if its 3d printed but high quality

Prototype/Concept/Custom Process of building my CNCed Custom Case

Okay so I decided to publish video of how to build V9 Case, you probably do not know what V9 is. V9 is the case that I designed, it is made mostly (visable panels excluding bottom panel) out of aluminium with anodizing finish, remaining parts are made out of S235 steel with powder coating finish. Why I created V9 in the first place? Thats a VERY long story that I might share someday. Back to the case itself, it supports:
PSU standard: [SFX]
CPU cooler height: [up to 54mm]
GPU length: [up to 310mm]
GPU width: [up to 53mm]
GPU height: [up to 156mm]
Fans support: 2x 120x(0-30)mm on top

The V9 looks amazing however it has both cosmetic and design flaws, issues I will try eliminate in my next custom cases because I am just starting making cases. I am new to both designing and yt world so any feedback is more than welcome.

Build/Parts Check Zcooi cancelled my M2/M3 travel kit order out of nowhere and ghosted me

Hi all,

I bought a used Founder's Edition before the insanity for a good deal and wanted a secure home for it.

The FE purchase was on the basis of the availability of the Zcooi M2/M3 travel kit (which recently went out of stock). I had successfully purchased my kit on the 17th of October when there was still stock left.

Oddly, I received an email from Zcooi recently saying that I had requested to cancel my order and subsequently received a full refund. This completely defeats the purpose, as the entire reason I bought the FE card was specifically so it could go into an M2 or M3 with that secure travel kit. Now I'm just left stranded with a GPU and no case option. I have emailed them saying I did not cancel the order and that I had purchased an expensive graphics card on the basis of that order, but I have not received any response from Zcooi.

Does anyone have recommendations for an alternative CNC-machined 'travel kit' for the Ncase M2/M3 (Only using CNC/machined hardware and no 3D prints or DIY mods)?

My fallback is a FormD T1 using their travel kit options, but for this build, I had wanted to use an mATX motherboard and no riser.

----------------------------------------

The biggest challenges were cable management at the bottom of the case, especially the power cable (which is too long for my liking), and routing the cables around the PSU to give it enough clearance to exhaust air relatively freely.

The other challenge was installing the front fan, which required modifying the bracket to squeeze it between the case and the GPU.

Hello guys, this is my Smol ITX project, a 3.5L ultra-SFF case that supports a low-profile GPU, an ITX motherboard, a Flex 1U power supply, and seven 4010 or 4007 case fans. Unfortunately, I lack the financial means to prototype or test it. I created all the CAD files using my phone, and I have no prior experience with 3D CAD software. I would truly appreciate any advice or assistance you could offer to help me bring this project to completion.

Finally finished this little beast after migrating it from a medium-sized case to the Terra, I feel the small form blends into my living room way better.

Anyone know where I can get a factory wood panel? I bought the case used and the previous owner had painted it black.

I can definitely see the addiction in using small cases, it’s like building a Lego set.

Others/Miscellaneous Bought a smaller case to save space, ended up spending more time worrying about temperatures

I like the idea of an SFF build because I don't want a huge box taking up space on my desk. But every time I look at smaller cases, I end up going down a rabbit hole comparing cooler compatibility, fan layouts and GPU temps.

With a normal case, you can pretty much throw a couple of fans in and call it a day. With SFF, it feels like moving one fan can change the whole setup.

At some point I have to remind myself that I'm building a PC to use, not spending the rest of my life tweaking airflow graphs.

Okay, so I was browsing listings on Ebay last week for an Arc B50 and one of my saved searches pinged me for an RTX 2000 Ada. I was pretty surprised that it was actually priced extremely well (I got it for around $450).

Now that its finally here, I'm actually pretty shocked... It turned out to be the PRO Blackwell version instead of the Ada Generation version!

Honestly, the person who was selling this either didn't know what it was or was kind enough to give a good price especially in the current GPU market that we have.

All things considered, probably one of the best deals I've ever gotten in my life! Thanks random dude! 👏 😎 🫵

Wherever you are, I hope you're doing well in life and both sides of your pillows are cold at night.

Build/Battlestation Pics Little B4 1080p gamer. ;)

Hi all..

I’ve put together a small system in a B4 case.
I used to have an open-frame setup in a Rhino S “case”

My system:

Asus b650e-i Gaming Wifi itx
9850x3d
RTX 5080
64GB ddr5 6000mhz cl30
2TB WD SN8100 PCIe 5 14000/13000
Corsair 850W platinium SFF psu

There are three 120mm x 15mm fans at the bottom acting as intakes, a 120mm x 25mm fan at the front as an intake, and a 120mm x 25mm fan at the rear as an exhaust.
The two fans at the top have been replaced with two 120mm x 25mm exhaust fans.
The 240mm AIO is set up as an intake, which also pushes plenty of air into the motherboard.

My 9850X3D is running with a -20 offset on all cores and a +200MHz boost.
While gaming (in "BF6"), the temperature sits at 60°C, with a hotspot of around 70°C. My Zotac 5080 stays under 60°C—reaching a maximum of 65°C—during gaming, with a hotspot of about 70–75°C.
I think it’s a nice, compact case—no logos or unnecessary flair. And no RGB lighting, since I’m not 13 years old anymore. ;)

If you have any questions or anything else, feel free to write.

Happy Halloween🎃
Saw this case for sale new near me for 100$ and just got it. My then ongoing projects stalled due to work season and phd program, so i just wanted to get a quick fix of building an sff over a free weekend as oem friendly as possible.

The specs:
• Mechanic Master C25 Plus "Elegant Black" lmao
• Thermalright TGFX 850w
• Asus b650e-i + 2tb nvme + 1tb sata
• r7 9700x 120 watt -25 pbo 32gb 6000
• An ancient Noctua nh-u12s on an offset kit, bunch of noctua fans
• Msi ventus 2x 4070 Ti S 1v 2640Mhz no backplate
• Other notable QOL changes are: 2x2x2 cm rubber feet; tulle fabric pet hair filters front/bottom/side; 140 mm fan on top; 180 degree 12vhpwr with a little alum heatsink; 5mm standoffs for the rear fan; Thermal Grizzly paste + pads AND most importantly some stickers.

Temps are good, currently playing bf6 uncapped, gpu/cpu under 70 C, fans are on 65%, all on custom curve. Long video rendering sessions will put the cpu to 80 C at 80% fan speed.

Overall very satisfied with the build, everything clicked together fast, it is easy to build in. The case is sturdy and heavy, not very backpackable but i carry it in a sports bag. I had fun, it looks cute, well worth the 100$.

Shot on sony 6500 with sony E 50mm f1.8 oss.

Price check for my PC:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
ASUS TUF RX 9070 XT OC
ASUS TUF B850I WiFi Neo
32 GB TeamGroup T-Create Expert DDR5-6000
Corsair SF850
Lexar NM790 2 TB
WD Black SN7100 500 GB
Thermalright 67 mm cooler
Thermaltake TR100 Matcha Green

Built only a few months ago and in very good condition.

What would be a realistic selling price for the complete system right now? I was thinking around €2,100–2,300.

Prototype/Concept/Custom Updated Fractal Terra build

Thumbnail

Just an update post to my previous fractal terra build.

Pc specs:

9800x3d

5070ti

64gb ram

4tb nvme

Custom length cables (home-made)

Custom watercooling loop

280mm 30mm thick rad

120mm 20mm thick rad

Modultra Lobo

Alphacool 1slot waterblock

12mm hard tubing

Originally I had a 25mm thick rad on the top and just let passive Airflow from the 2 140mm fans to pull air through but I was curious if a 20mm rad with a 15mm fan fit and it does! Helps with cpu temp spikes when compiling shaders and lowered the average temps by 2° from not having a fan (small difference but its nice to see it made a difference)

I also added 2 slim fans underneath to help push air up into the case (I am curious as to how it would perform without them, but I dont feel like taking it apart again)

Would love to figure out a fill and drain valve system for the rear using fittings. (I remember seeing one years ago but cant find it anywhere) It had 2 t fittings and a one way flow valve but besides that I dont remember how it worked. If anyone has any info I would love to learn.

Assembly Help 280mm AIO recommendations?

Thumbnail

My case is a DAN Cases C4-SFX and I used a Noctua NH-D12L since 3 years but last year I upgraded my 4070 to a 5090 and its cooking my NVMEs so I want to switch to a AIO to have less hot air moving over my mainboard.

When I have build the PC I installed a Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 first but the tubes were to stiff and bent affecting the water flow so I replaced it 2 weeks later with the backup air cooler I got and sticked to it till last week.

Last week I installed a new Pure Loop 3 280 and a 92mm mainboard intake fan and it works well but the ball bearing of the pump of is defect ... so do u guys have a better AIO recommendation for me or should I just replace it with the same model? Not sure about the quality of bequiet after experiencing this and considering that even the pump fixing material is made of plastic.

I was thinking about the new Liquid Freezer III 280 and install the pump upsidedown so it fits on the mainboard (X670E-I) but im not sure about the thiccer radiator and if the tubes are more flexible than in the LF II. Maybe I could compensate the thiccer radiator by pointing the PSU slots to the right and get short custom power cables (24pin + 8pin) for the mainboard (where?) so the airflow is less restricted?

This is my first SFF PC and I always used air cooling so I dont know that much about AIOs and appreciate any input!

Others/Miscellaneous Bought an SFF case to save desk space, now I spend all my free time looking at other SFF cases

I genuinely thought going SFF would be a one-time build and then I’d be done.

Now I’m watching build videos at 1am, checking if a different case would fit my GPU, and convincing myself that changing cases is somehow a reasonable use of money when my PC works perfectly fine.

The worst part is seeing someone fit a massive GPU into a tiny case and immediately wondering if I made the wrong choice.

I've always wanted an easily portable LAN station, when I stumbled upon these things I knew what I had to do! Full stress tests 8 cores @ 3.85 Ghz and 40CU @ 2.2Ghz. Temps settle in around 55C when under full load.

I'm using this awesome thing for converting the DP out to USB-C over DP :

Build/Parts Check Found a Silverstone SX700-PT for ~$45 with NO cables. Is it legit and how do I test it?

Thumbnail

Hey guys! I was told this is the best community to ask about SFF hardware. Found a used Silverstone SX700-PT! (SFX, Platinum) for around $45 USD in my currency. It has no modular cables and the seller can't test it.

Need your help with the photos:

1.Is it legit? Retail photos online show blue PCIe slots, but this one is all-black. Is it just an older revision?

2.Does the inside look okay? The seller opened it up (fan is unplugged, warranty sticker is gone). Any red flags on the board?

3.How do I test it without cables? Can I do a paperclip test directly on the empty modular slots to see if the fan spins? Which pins should I short so I don't blow up the outlet?

Thanks!

P.S. Used an AI translator, sorry for any weird phrasing!
