Any travelers/students who want to hang out during weekends?
Hi, I run a English coffee chat community in Gangnam, Seoul, where young people in their 20s to 30s hang out during weekends. Most people are local Koreans who are eager to practice speaking in English. It would be nice to have more travelers or international students joining our events!
Please send me a private message if you are interested.

Seoul has a growing drum & bass scene. Here's a recording from one of our underground nights
For anyone into electronic music in Seoul, thought I'd share a little glimpse of a scene that doesn't always get much attention here.
I've been helping organize Darklight drum & bass parties in Seoul for the past couple of years, after originally running events under the same name back in the UK.
We've been bringing over international artists and working with local DJs to help build a bigger community around DnB here in Korea.
Here's a recent live set from one of our nights, with me (DLM) on three decks alongside MC Jake Pains. A proper mix of liquid, rollers, dancefloor and jump-up. We had UK DnB legend Dillinja headlining later that night.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNtQtir_UWk
Curious how many other DnB heads are living in Seoul? Probs not too many, but let me know! :-)

Advice I made a free Seoul subway day planner: add your stops, see your whole day
ajussi here again.
Planning a day in Seoul? Google Maps doesn't work well here for walking or driving directions, and Naver/Kakao only show one trip at a time (A → B). So adding up a full day is a pain.
So I made a little tool for it.
How it works - Add your stops in order (hotel → palace → lunch → Hongdae → hotel) - Pick how long you'll stay at each place - It figures out the subway time between stops, which lines to take, and where to transfer - You see your whole day: when you arrive, when you leave, and when you'll be back
A few notes - Times lean a little long on purpose. Better early than late. - It adds 8 min of walking per trip by default (you can turn it off). Some big stations take longer to get out of. - Subway only for now. No buses.
Free, no sign-up, no ads. Hit "Try an example" to see how it works.
If the times are way off for a route you took, let me know and I'll fix it!

Discussion How do you feel about Seoul National Museum giving their platform to people who use AI?
Went to Seoul National Museum last week and there was an exibition of a guy who was using AI. It looked terrible, I immediately noticed, and then I've read a nothingburger paragraph about how he experiments with different media, and it's obviously just AI. It made me feel weird that such an eminent gallery gives opportunities to people who are obviously not artists. How do you feel about it?

Free/cheap things to do in Seoul
I’m a high school exchange student in Seoul and I feel like there’s no third spaces for me to hang out with my friends. Obviously I’ve been to the Han river and just walked around but since it’s getting colder I was wondering if anyone knows any free or cheap places to hang out at that I maybe haven’t discovered yet

[Seoul, Nov 7] Traditional Korean Royal Ceremony + Tea ☕ | Small Cultural Meetup
Hi everyone! 😊
I'm a 35F Korean living near Seoul, and I'm looking for a few people to join me for a unique cultural experience on Saturday, November 7!
There's a traditional royal ancestral ceremony called Jongmyo Jerye (종묘제례) taking place at Jongmyo Shrine.
It's a UNESCO-recognized cultural tradition featuring centuries-old royal rituals, traditional music, and ceremonial dances.
I've been wanting to see it, but none of my friends seem particularly interested in Korean history. 😂 So I thought, why not meet some new people who might enjoy it?
📅 The Plan
* 12:00 PM: Meet at a café near Jongmyo Shrine for tea/coffee and introductions
* 1:00 PM: Head to Jongmyo Shrine to find a good viewing spot
* 2:00–4:30 PM: Watch the royal ceremony together
* Afterward: Wrap up, or hang out a little longer if anyone feels like it!
👥 Who's Welcome?
* Everyone is welcome, regardless of nationality! Expats, travelers, and Koreans who are comfortable speaking English are all encouraged to join.
* People who genuinely enjoy history, culture, and meaningful conversations.
* Maximum 4 people, including myself.
* We'll mainly communicate in English so everyone can feel included.
💰 Cost
The ceremony is completely free! Just pay for your own coffee or tea.
This is a casual cultural outing, not a guided tour.
I'm not a history expert, but I'd love to share the experience and exchange perspectives!
💌 Interested?
Leave a comment or send me a DM with a quick introduction:
* Your approximate age, gender
* Where you're from
* What interests you about the event
Since I'm keeping the group small, I'll chat with interested people before confirming the participants. It's not first-come, first-served!
Looking forward to meeting some fellow culture enthusiasts! 😊

Meet Up 21F looking for someone to hang out with in Seoul
Hey everyone!
I'm a 21F exchange living in Seoul, Korea close to Hyehwa! I'm staying in here for two more months but I've been feeling pretty lonely so I'm looking to find more people to hangout with and become friends during my time here ^^
I'm a foreigner so the main language would be English although I'm also studying Korean and wouldn't mind learning more. So whether you're a Korean or a foreigner doesn't matter! But I'm not looking for a relationship
I enjoy taking walks, nature and having nice meals and talks over some drinks, so any casual meetup would be fun!
If you'd be interest and know any nice spots in Seoul hmu!!
