YouTube advanced higher music

hi I'm doing my Scottish advanced higher music this year and one of the aspects of the course is analysing a piece of music. I've chosen to do feed me from little shop of horrors (I'll put the link in at the end) and I'm just really really stumped and struggling on how to do this. I understand we just need to take concepts out that we hear but I'm really struggling on this and writing it in a coherent way, we need to include time stamps of where in the music we hear the concepts but I'm unsure how to write this out at a advanced level. I'm just hoping if anyone could just help me with some analysis or even just point me in the write direction because frankly I don't have a scooby and I want to pass obviously so just please if anyone could possible take the time to help me if you may have done the advanced course recently or just so happen to be a musician, id be really grateful!

I see allot of negative stuff online so thought i would share my positive experience. Visited Scotland for the first time earlier this year and a second time a few weeks ago . i want to say its hands down its one of the , if not the best places i have been to! Everyone’s was welcoming, friendly and helpful 🙏🏽. I have been all over Europe and hands down you guys are the best . From the workers at the airport, to the random people i met on my travels. I have visited all over Europe and no other place has even came to your level of hospitality.

Question Best sour sweeties etc.?

I’m not originally from Scotland and am going home for Christmas this year. Due to various logistical family reasons, I’m trying to wrap up my Christmas shopping ASAP.

I need a gift for someone who likes anything bitter or sour. They are autistic and quite particular, not a drinker so no booze. They like lemon sweeties. They really love rowan berry jam but I don’t have time to make any this year.

Any suggestions will be extremely welcome!

Smart parking charge in Inverness

Hi, this August we entered a parking in Inverness just to discover that 2026 has not come for them, since you could only pay by coins (not even bills), unlike all the other places through Scotland we visited in 10 days. The parking lot had no clear signage prior to entrance regarding the lack of most common and current payment methods. We lost 10 minutes looking for a machine that would accept bank cards or an Android app to make payment; having found nothing, we promptly left.

One month ahead we received a 100 pounds charge from Smart Parking Ltd, for exactly 10 minutes in the parking. I appealed the charge on September 16th, telling them that this seems fraudulent, having found a lot of tourist that had the same problem.

28 days are gone and I didn't have an answer from them, how should I consider the situation?

Thank you.

Is it just me or is this just a super underrated spot? I haven’t seen anyone mention it at all. When we got here we just found it beautiful and there was no one else there. Maybe it was the time too, cause it got pretty late(otw to inverness from fort Augustus)
Has to be top 3 spots for me in the highlands

I wrote a book because the stories around one song kept getting stranger

Bolt Ya Nugget grew out of the story behind Neds Kru and "Here You, That'll Be Right!" The longer the song lived, the more stories, myths, memories, and versions of what supposedly happened seemed to appear, so eventually I decided to write my own true-ish version down.

Casual Night owl from Scotland (70) looking for open-minded chat friends of all ages! 🦉

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I recently retired and I’m looking to fill some of my free time making new online friends. I am a genuine night owl, so I’m often up late and love a good text chat to pass the hours.
I am very open-minded and would love to chat with people of all different generations and backgrounds. Age and location don't matter to me at all
I’m happy to chat with people from all over the world, but please note this is strictly an online text friendship (absolutely no travelling or visiting involved!). ✈️🧳❌
I’m just looking for good banter and a laugh! I love getting outside for walks during the day, live in central belt so walking 🚶🏻 can be good casual pace but at night I’m just looking for relaxed, low-pressure text buddies to talk about life, hobbies, or act as your online wingman.
If you’ve had a bad day, are feeling a bit lonely, or are going through something tough like a breakup, my inbox is open. I’m a good listener and I will always try to give honest feedback without upsetting anyone
just a steady, friendly sounding board when you need one.
looking for normal friendships. I do not click external links, I don't use other apps, and I do not exchange gifts or money.
please don't just say "hello" and vanish five minutes later! I’m looking for people who can hold a proper, real conversation.Plus maybe long term online relationship.
If you’re up for a casual chat, feel free to send me a message!

Political Does anyone else feel like the opposition to nuclear energy is a bit of self sabotage for an independent scotland?

With both the SNP and the greens opposing new nuclear energy it looks highly unlikely that torness power station will be replaced by a new nuclear site in Scotland.

I am fully on board with increased renewable sources being used to add to Scotland's energy production but feel we lack the ability to store that energy adequately. Pumped hydro and battery storage seems to be the main sources for that storage however we still rely on torness and Peterhead to supply energy to the grid and rely on them during periods of low production. With torness scheduled to stop production around 2030 and the age of Peterhead power station combined with the carbon emissions it produces without a real carbon capture system approved, it feels like by the early-mid 2030's Scotland will be reliant on power being supplied by south of the border to make up the shortfall when renewable production is low.

Surely a new nuclear power station would be the simplest and cleanest solution to this and would actually strengthen the independence cause as opposed to damaging it?

John Swinney was quoted the other day stating opposition to the proposed sovereign wealth fund being used for nuclear power in England so why don't we use it for a new station in Scotland?

This is of course without mentioning the benefits that industrial plants such as power stations provide in terms of high paying, highly skilled jobs and strengthening supply chains which can be used in other industries.

Edit- a lot of great replies and opinions thanks for the engagement. A lot of statements being given without back ups though so thought it might be worth linking the Scottish governments energy reports for people to peruse if interested in digging into the current data as well as the trends over the past few years. https://www.gov.scot/collections/quarterly-energy-statistics-scotland/

Best macaroni pie?

Hello fellow carb-lovers!

I am on the hunt for the very best Macaroni Pie. My current leader is from Mhor bakery in Callander (belter bakers by the way), but a Baynes is still a solid and easy to find option.

Big thoughts and prayers for the old, now retired, macaroni pie from Ashers bakery in the highlands. Gone but not forgotten.

Any suggestions and recommendations appreciated. I am macaroni pie daft.

Political New plan calls for Scottish pound from day one of independence

This paper was presented at a thing on Saturday, but does not yet appear to have been published on the Scottish Currency Group's website.

This article seems to contradict some of what is on the Scottish Currency Group's website about what would happen, especially in terms of what happens to ordinary people's savings accounts. The SCG's website says any conversion would be voluntary, whereas this article seems to suggest it would be mandatory.

Convert, at par on Independence Day, loans secured on Scottish property and Scottish residents’ deposits and consumer loans into Scottish pounds.

is what the article says the report recommends.
