I made this Minecraft resource pack that replaces the tracks of the music disks with some important Russian songs, but being non-Russian, I'm not the right person to make the section of songs. For now, the pack has:

The ideia was trying to make it the most Russian as possible. Many of the songs I put are related to wars, and even though I know the Great Patriotic War is a huge part of the Russian identity, I don't know if I put too many military and political songs.

I would really love to hear from Russians how can I improve the selection. Also, the game has a few more disks than that, so I can still make the list bigger.

Here's a video demonstrating the disks being played:

And here's the files if anyone is interested:

I picked only recordings made from the old shellac records, not vinyl, because that's what the disks in the game are based on. (I think I will later share here some Soviet records I have if people are interested)

I am told The Riggans Band is a Russian language Latvian duo.

Here’s my Russian version of Hozier’s “Take Me to Church”.
It sounds like a hymn, but it’s really a protest song. Hozier takes the language of religion and turns it toward love: the person you love becomes the only thing worth worshipping, while institutions that shame people for being human get the sharp end of the lyrics.
Translating it was a real challenge. The original is dense with religious imagery and double meanings, and much of its power comes from that tension between sacred and earthly. I tried to keep both layers in Russian, and to keep the weight of that huge chorus.
The vocals are AI-generated (Suno), and the translation is my own.
Did the double meanings survive in Russian? I’d love your honest rating.
The full version is on my YouTube channel, along with many other famous songs in Russian
