Should this subreddit have a full ban on AI generated content?
AI generated content has been very controversial in this subreddit for a long time. Until now, we've generally allowed AI content as long as it wasn't spam.
Is it time for a full ban on AI content?
Regardless of which option wins, we will revisit this topic again in the future as technology continues to develop and change, and governments begin to regulate it appropriately.

Legacy #21 - ROBOTECH Novel #9 (Final Nightmare)
The conflict between the Robotech Masters and forces of the Southern Cross has become desperate for both sides now. Rather frenetically presented, and shown from a multitude of perspectives, several missions and battles rage both on Earth and in orbit. The culmination of the war sees both Dana and Zor fully realizing their journeys; Zor’s tragedy only compounded by the disastrous effects of his sacrifice. Full thematic review at link to blog below.

How did you appreciate the finale of the Southern Cross?
Did you find the presentation frenetic too?

Imagine a modern Robotech show
It would so super peak if they could make a modern roboot/remake of Robotech. Like many other shows from the 80s have been and it leaves me wondering how good it would be with modern writing and animation. But I also understand that this will mostly likely never happen sadly.

FROM ARMOR SOLDIER GOLEM TO ISB-02-Mk.I GOLEM BATTLOID
From MOSPEADA's OSM ie the IMAI Files, myriads of pre-production mecha artworks & concept artworks intended for GC Mospeada never made into the animation. One such mecha is the Armo Soldier Golem that intended to be a an earlier predecessor to Armo Soldier Condor. The artwork for Golem labeled as M3-05 in the IMAI Files.
Irvin Jackson would later adapted Armo Soldier Golem from IMAI Files into ISB-02-Mk.I Golem Infantry Support Battloid in the Palladium's 2nd Ed Robotech: The Expeditionary Force Marines RPG Sourcebook. The original Armo Soldier Golem artwork would also redesigned by Chuck Walton into ISB-02 Golem Battloid.

ISB-02-Mk.I Golem Infantry Support Battloid
Original Text By Irvin Jackson (REF Marines RPG)
Designed as a heavy infantry assault unit, unlike the Destroids, the Golems are assigned to weapons companies, which support the infantry companies. There is one heavy weapons company for every three infantry rifle companies. The heavy weapons companies usually also include Daniel Fire Support vehicles or Destroids.
The Golems are much lighter and more nimble than most Destroids, and are designed to go most places that infantry can go, except inside human-sized structures. They are one of the few large mecha piloted by infantry (human or micronized Zentraedi) and are easy to pilot, produce and repair.
The Golem is armed with a pulse beam cannon on one arm, short-range missiles in the chest and has forearm shields to help defend itself in combat. It has limited flight capabilities and is an excellent hand to hand combat mecha. It is also extremely useful in hostile environments and boarding enemy spaceships.

FROM VALCOM BULKY POWERED SUIT TO MBR-12-Mk.II VALIANT
From MOSPEADA's OSM ie the IMAI Files, myriads of pre-production mecha artworks & concept artworks intended for GC Mospeada never made into the animation. One such mecha is the VALCOM Bulky Powered Suit that intended to be a sort of powered suit capable of both flight & ground operations. The artwork for VALCOM Powered Suit labeled as M1-01, M1-02 & M1-06.
Irvin Jackson would later adapt this VALCOM powered suit from IMAI Files into MBR-12-Mk II Destroid instead in the Palladium's 2nd Ed Robotech: The Expeditionary Force Marines RPG Sourcebook. The original VALCOM artwork would also redesigned by Chuck Walton into Valiant Destroid.

MBR-12-Mk II Destroid Valiant
Original Text By Irving Jackson
The newest Destroid design, the Valiant, is aimed at giving the Destroid platoons and the Expeditionary Force Marines the heavy-hitting firepower and armor of the traditional Destroid designs in a robot more suited for a wide variety of environments that could be anticipated when operating on extraterrestrial worlds. The original Destroids, while space worthy, were designed with Earth's atmosphere, gravity and terrains in mind.
But what about the many other possibilities? The Expeditionary Force anticipated (rightly so) that combat could occur in many areas where the older Destroids might have trouble functioning at full effect. What if they had to battle on planets with low gravity? In asteroid fields? Or even on a gas giant?
The Expeditionary Force engineers decided they needed a Destroid that was both adaptable to a wide range of missions and environments, modular to a degree not yet seen, and still able to slug it out with the toughest of enemies. The resulting project led to the development of the the Valiant.
The Valiant is capable of sustained flight, heavily armored, and has modular weapon systems, enabling it to fill whatever mission parameters were necessary. It is as at home in the vacuum as it is on the ground, and along with the Zentraedi Destroids, gives much needed speed and versatility to the Expeditionary Force Marines.
Its primary innovation is its replaceable arms, which can be switched for a variety of weapon systems and utility devices that makes it not only a combat mecha, but frequently used for search and rescue operations, exploration, construction and engineering.

My new custom made Robotech Tribute watch
I’ve made other Robotech watches including a past analog diver tribute but thought I’d try my hand at a Casio Royale style build in honor of the Veritech Skull squadron.
Info: On a clone watch component, clear case, hand painted pinstriping, custom Robotech logo on caution stripe.
Even adjustable backlighting red, white, yellow glow.
Not for sale, made for my personal stash.

Finally finished up this (Konig) Monster kit...
I wanted to find some kind of Destroid for my collection, so looked at what was available and the Aoshima VB-6 Variable Fighter Girls kit seemed like a fun build and one of the better values for it's size. Did some panel lining and simple detail painting for the gold trim on both the Konig and the pilot. I would have preferred to use the decals rather than stickers, but they did not seem like they would last very long with it being a transforming model.
Pretty happy with the finished product and looks good alongside some of my other Macross collection!

Moderoid Transformed to Armor Mode
Transformed the Scott figure. Transformation actually wasn't that bad. Articulation is obviously more restricted when transformed, but that's always the case with all Cyclones/Ride Armors. There's a gray piece at the bottom of the backpack that is a bit unsightly and can be seen from the front between the figure's legs. It can actually be removed for a cleaner look without affecting the transformation, but I just decided to keep it on just to store all parts of the bike when transformed. I'll probably paint the targeting scope unit as the black looks out of place. Can't decide whether I like bike or armor mode better. Both look great.

Next Stop, Reflex Point
Finished building the Moderoid kit of Scott to go with Rand. Still haven't transformed the figures yet as I want to enjoy the bike for a bit. Sentinel's Rook and Lancer in the last pic for comparison.

Apologies for the recent subreddit drama!
Hi all,
Just wanted to apologize personally to all of you for allowing the recent drama in here to persist for as long as it did. Over the last two weeks, I have allowed a user who is clearly suffering from AI psychosis to pollute this subreddit with aggressive inflammatory and incendiary comments, directed not only at myself, but at other users here as well.
Despite regular reports and flags on this user's comments, I allowed him to remain for too long, and even engaged frequently with his nonsense.
Yesterday, I gave this user 24 hours to make a post sharing any proof he had with all of us regarding his insane allegations. He refused to do so. If there's one thing I've learned after more than 15 years as a political consultant (many of which being post-2015), it's that when people are that deep in the weeds, they cannot be reasoned with. They don't need facts to support their conspiracy theories, and they don't accept the facts that refute them.
So to anyone who has found the drama irritating, or the constant accusations of lying and cheating, or the spamming of the same comment on every thread where this user quotes himself, to be offputting enough that this community hasn't been fun to be a part of, please accept my apology for not only allowing it to continue, but for stoking and inflaming it by engaging.
The user has been banned.
While I have you, is there anything else you'd like to see in this subreddit? Events, content types, rule changes, etc?
I'm all ears!

NB-1 Condor Armo Soldier/ HBR-15 MkII Jackal
An unused pre-production artwork for Armor Soldier to be included in Genesis Climber Mospeada. Identified in Imai Files as NB-1 Condor & Animec magazine, this mecha however later renamed as HBR-15-MkII Jackal as adopted in Robotech Homefront RPG by Strange Machine Game.
This Armo-Soldier has two modes, Flight & Battroid mode.

Loving the anime look of Moderoid kits so far
I haven't done a transformation yet. Waiting to finish building Scott before transforming both figures. However, there are definitely some squeaky tight joints and a few very tight connecting parts during the build process, so I would definitely advise sanding down those joints or parts or applying shock oil, silicone spray, or whatever you like to use to reduce friction to avoid breakage as these are still model kits at the end of the day. Otherwise, the build process was pretty straightforward.
I still like and plan on keeping my Sentinel figures despite some build quality issues with them, but I definitely prefer the more anime accurate look of these Moderoid kits aesthetically. I don't have the Beagle figures. Scale-wise, the Moderoids are 1/12 and fit in nicely size-wise with the Sentinels. Obviously, the Moshow, which I had and eventually sold, is far bigger and much more stylized in appearance.
Really hoping GoodSmile will decide to do Lancer and Rook as well.

Moshow Robotech Cyclone Reissue Preorder now open on Gundamit
[UPDATED] For those of you that missed the original release, Moshow toys is reissuing their gorgeous Cyclone ride armor figure, and you can preorder it now on Gundamit/Show Z (link here). Price is $230, which is slightly higher than original, but shipping is $3 (!) to the US. If you've never ordered from them, I started ordering from them a year ago and they're now my top source. This 10" figure has tons of wonderful detail and incredible features, and it's a steal even at the higher price.
UPDATE 10/13/26 8:30 PM CT: link now works like it should, Gundamit responded quickly. Allons y!
UPDATE 10/13/26 5:30 PM CT: I apologize to everyone trying to get this link to work; it looks like it might only be open to Premium Members, but I'm not sure. I have a ticket open with Gundamit asking about it, and will update this whenever I find out what's happening.

Community poll results overwhelmingly support a ban on AI content
Over the course of the week that the poll regarding a potential ban on AI was up, we received a total of 419 votes.
The results are as follows:
--272 (64.9%) voted yes to a full ban on AI content.
--144 (34.4%) voted no to a full ban on AI content, preferring to allow some non-spam AI.
--3 (0.7%) voted for another option.
These results are overwhelmingly in favour of a ban on AI content, with nearly a supermajority of respondents choosing this option.
Notably, Reddit also partitions out the results among core contributors to the subreddit, and it is interesting to note that this ratio remained very consistent among this group. 52 core contributors voted in the poll, of whom 35 were in favour of the full ban, and 17 were opposed. These numbers reflect a super majority in favour of banning AI content among core contributors at 67.3%.
As stated in the initial post, regardless of which outcome was successful, we would revisit this question again in the future.
With these results in mind, r/Robotech will institute a full ban on AI content from today onwards. Past content will not be removed. In one year (October 2027), we will have another community vote to affirm whether the ban should be lifted or remain in effect.
I surely won't be able to police this myself, so this ban will rely on community members flagging posts that are AI, and they will be removed as quickly as possible. Those continually posting AI content after removal will be banned.
AI content has been prominent in this subreddit for a long time, so I do expect traffic to decrease as the number of posts decreases. I hope the r/Robotech community will come together and allow this subreddit to return to what it had been in the past--more lively discussion between humans, and fewer pieces of content by robots.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the poll to help shape this community's future, and especially to those who did so pleasantly and/or humorously, and without repeatedly spamming the same comment.
And an exasperated sigh to those who participated but don't fit the previous category.

Mail call: VR-052 Battler Cyclone, reporting for duty.
This baby just arrived in the mail today.
Aoshima’s 1/12 VR-052 Battler Cyclone. Or, if you wanna get really old school, the Armo-bike and Ride Armor from Genesis Climber MOSPEADA.
A motorcycle that turns into powered armor. Still one hell of a concept.
Anyone here built this kit?

Robotech comics
Hello everyone. I'm currently working on completing my collection of the 80's Robotech comics that Comico published. I'm getting closer to completing it. In my search I was absolutely blown away when I discovered that there were many, many more Robotech comic series than I was aware of! I've collected a lot of the first Sentinels series and a few issues from others. I am hopefully curious that somewhere out there exists a complete checklist of all the Robotech comics that have been published. If anyone knows of such a thing please let me know. I'm also working on collecting the paperback books by Jack McKinney so a checklist of those would be helpful as well. Thank you in advance!!!
