Interview soon! (advice?)
Pretty much just the title. I have an in-person interview on Monday and am looking for advice! I understand that its informal but I'm still quite nervous about it so anything that could help me prepare and know more of what to expect would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a current freshman at Reed who did an in-person interview last fall. I’d agree that it was very informal, more of a conversation, and with a current student. I’d definitely agree with the comments below - be yourself, be ready to talk about your passions and you’ll do great.

Just be yourself in the interview. Reed has a holistic approach to their interview process, so what they really want to see MOST is TWO very specific things: they want to see that you're intellectually capable (have the passion, the motivation and the intellectual curiosity) of handling the work #1, AND that #2, you're developed enough of an individual (quirky, individualist, liberal) to handle Reed socially.
And I'm the individual who was interviewed by Reed Admissions TWICE! First time in 1992 (back before I initially chose Hampshire College in Amherst, MA over it to begin with) and then AGAIN in 1995 when I re-applied to Reed as a Third-Year Transfer Student (after my first two years at Hampshire), which was when I REALLY thought I'd transfer because I wanted to finish my Degree up out West .
You'll be fine. 👍

I spoke about my love and interest for bugs and how I like singing. Just demonstrate curiosity and passion!!!

No sure things, but Reed loves people who are curious, passionate, and love to learn for learning’s sake. If that sounds like you, have some specific examples and stories. It will probably be more enjoyable than you think!
