Discord Events

Thanks to all that joined our event last night. We had a nice time chatting and getting to know each other a bit and have interesting conversations. I realized that there are alot of people from all over the world in different time zones and want to try to accommodate everyone as best I can. With that being said, I want to make the voice event a weekly thing while keeping in mind everyone's different time zones. I am going to make a poll for day preference. In addition, if everyone can comment their time zone, that will help give me an idea of timing once we settle on a day. This of course can be changed, but this will give me an idea on preferences and how to get the most turnout for the events. Hope to see alot of responses and make this a weekly event with alot of turnout!

Thanks!

Discord Revamp

Important update for the community:

The discord server has been revamped to be more of a place for chatting and informal introductions. When joining, users will be asked to choose a role based on age, gender, location, religious affiliation, and preferences. Once your roles are picked, you will have access to 2 channels: "Chat" and "Short Intros". See the channel description to understand what each one is meant for. There will also be a voice channel that everyone is encouraged to use to virtually meet new people and chat. We request that everyone takes a look at the rules channel to get the basics of the server when joining. The link to the server is here: https://discord.gg/f39AEv35K

Please feel free to join, and post in this thread feedback and requests.

As a reminder, the subreddit will be the place for formal posts and comments.

Shavua tov y'all :)

I'm a 27-year old mathematician from California living in Astoria - though I'm about to move to Flatbush. I'm 5'11" Ashkenazi, Zionist, and bilingual (Spanish). In my free time I like to travel, go to museums, spend time with friends, learn languages, and volunteer with blind people. Making Braille and dictionaries for endangered languages is what I do in my free time, but to be transparent my main job is working for a casino.

Looking for a Jewish girlfriend / potential future wife :) Open to anyone 21-35, as long as you are nice and adventurous :)

Thanks for reading and have a fantastic Sunday!

Jewish, Not Religious 33 [M4F] #iowa #online - nerd seeking rad woman

Are you the One Ring? Cuz you're Precious.

I'm 5'3", 140 lbs, half Ashkenazi, with green eyes, shaved head, and facial hair. Goofy, nerdy, introverted. 420 friendly. Neurodivergent and chronically ill. Agnostic. Metalhead and punk; former concert promoter. Big fantasy and sci-fi dork. Video games, movies, shows, D&D, the whole shebang. History lover-- current hyperfixations are the Eurasian steppe and Silk Road. Animal lover. Aspiring writer hoping to bring his worlds to life someday. I'm like if Bilbo Baggins and Tommy Chong had a baby.

I'm here for the goofs, goths, and geeks. Love women who are smart, funny, passionate, empathetic, inquisitive, affectionate, and creative. Bonus points if you're tall, busty, or muscular.

Sexually, I'm a sub-leaning switch. Open to different aesthetics and body types, but definitely a boob guy. The bigger, the better. Typically vanilla, but open to exploration. Particularly curious about roleplay and cosplay.

Open to different connections; I'd like to talk and see what works best for us. A wee bit of fun? Rad. Something a bit more substantial? Neat. Would love to find a demon queen or fairy princess for this gnome. Be the Morticia to my Gomez?

Shoot me a message if you're interested.

According to my DNA results, I'm 99.8% Ashkenazi. I figure that's too Jewish to waste, I kinda wanna continue the bloodline.

About me: I'm disabled due to medical trauma (symptoms are, I can't focus anymore like at all). If that's okay with you, then let's talk :) I live in my apartment with my cat Napkins.

I used to have a life, used to go out all the time, did lots of poetry readings and open mics. Even after the disability! But then suddenly, everybody turned into a pundit, and the literary circles I knew just got weird. So I've been a shut-in longer for about a decade.

I need to get out. I hope you're somebody that likes open mics, because I wanna force myself to go again.

You: born a girl, stayed a woman. Kind. Willing to try things. That's about it for now, I gotta run :(

Hey there! I'm looking for my bashert. I live in NYC, but I'm in Abilene, TX for a few weeks due to work. Hopefully I should be back home in the city before Thanksgiving.

I'm currently looking for someone who enjoys traveling, having new experiences, and who is also fine with an occasional weekend at home.

Other hobbies of mine include cooking, biking around the city, traveling, working out, reading (currently reading a true crime book about the Murdaugh Family but I read other stuff too.), going to museums and trying new restaurants.

DM if you're interested. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

I am posting this for a relative. She is a pharmacist, 27, 5'5", living in Brooklyn, looking for a man 28-32, Ashkenazi, who is marriage-minded and wants kids. Big plus if he speaks Russian. She is pretty secular. She likes going to the gym and is very ambitious, adventurous and would like someone who is similar. Let me know if you fit the bill and I can put you in touch.

I Don't Label Myself 21M4F from Californian Central Coast

Hi all,

I want to contribute to this community in the hope it will grow, even if I don't end up meeting "my" person here.

About me:

I'm 21, 5'11, and live in California; roughly 3-5 hours from either Los Angeles/San Francisco.

I am equally comfortable with the indoors and outdoors. I can enjoy camping or kayaking as much as watching a movie or playing games together.

I respect animals deeply - I eat vegetarian, avoid hurting/killing them (even bugs) and do my best to ensure their welfare. However, I don't enjoy sharing my space with them and don't want any pets.

For health and societal reasons, I don't want to have any biological children, but I may be open to adoption one day (not soon though).

Privacy, both on and offline, are of paramount importance to me. I don't post any pictures or videos of myself to social media. I distrust big tech, surveillance, and generative AI/LLMs.

Personality-wise, I am somewhat reserved and insightful, but not shy in the traditional sense. I don't mind chill social gatherings, but I'm more than happy to spend 1 on 1 time. I try to learn about a lot of different things so that I can connect with different people on things that interest us both.

Religion wise is a bit hard for me to define. I was raised reform and continue to hold many progressive/egalitarian values, though in recent years I became much more nationalistic towards Judaism and Zionism. I do my best to observe rituals and customs, like shabbat, keeping kosher, and celebrating holidays.

About you:

20+ years old

Avoid drugs, smoking, getting drunk

Eat vegetarian or vegan

Live child and pet free

Jewish, Not Religious 27, F4M, Volgograd. Planning to make aliyah. Looking for real conversation, not another app

Hi everyone!

I’m Larisa, 27, straight, from Volgograd, Russia. I work as a private French tutor and run a small educational blog. I speak French and English fluently. Languages stopped being just a job for me a long time ago: I love digging into how people really speak rather than how textbooks say they do, and I love the cultural history behind it. Right now I’m bringing my Hebrew back to life (songs, subtitles, karaoke, a beginner’s textbook) and studying Yiddish with a teacher, because one day I’d like to read it the way it was written historically.

I’ll be honest about why I’m here. I’m tired of dating apps. In my experience, especially in Russia, men on them too often treat women with a disrespect that wears you down after a while, and I’d rather not keep going through that. So I’m trying something different: meeting people through conversation, in a space where nobody is swiping or performing.

For friendship and conversation, I’m open to anyone. I’m looking for people who are curious about languages, books, music, and culture, who like to think out loud, and who are genuinely interested in the person they’re talking to. Where you’re from matters less to me than whether you’re kind and attentive.

Romantically, I’d like to be upfront about one thing: I would consider only a Jewish man. I’m Jewish by halakha, formerly Chabad, and today simply traditional, and a shared background matters to me when it comes to building something serious. I say this not to exclude anyone from a good conversation, only to be clear about what I’m open to in that particular direction.

I believe that anything worthwhile only grows out of communication where people get to know each other gradually. First messages, then jokes and shared topics, and then, who knows. If that pace sounds right to you, I’d be glad to meet you!

Now the practical part. I’m planning to make aliyah and try to build my life in Israel. But if a friendly connection turns into something truly solid, things could change, because life tends to work that way. So I’d be happy to lean geographically toward Israel: people who live there, are moving there, or are open to it.

If this resonates, send me a message or leave a comment. Tell me a little about yourself: what you do, what you’re reading or listening to, and what you could talk about for hours!

Jewish, Not Religious 36, F4M, NYC bossbabe hopeful romantic for fun dating (toward a relationship) where you’re the boss

I’m 36 and live in NYC. 5ft tall, curvy, green eyes. Grew up Jewish but not really religious anymore (generally spiritual).

I work a super stressful job and would love to find someone who can just take care of things and I’ll show up, have fun, look cute… let’s do romantic stuff together and build a loving relationship.

Bowling, museums, theater, comedy shows, new restaurants, cuddles, love… what else do you enjoy?

Baal Teshuva 21, M4A, Upstate New York/Israel

Hi,

I’m a 21 year old cis guy, open to anyone in their 20’s who’s looking for something serious. I’ve identified as gay for a long time but I’ve realized semi-recently that I’m actually bi, so all interested feel free to inquire within lol. So I guess I have a little bit of a flair for those with a gaydar, but I’m pretty masculine. I’m originally from Upstate New York but I’m planning to make aliyah by next fall for grad school in Tel Aviv. I’m somewhere between Conservative and Orthodox, mostly because of the bi aspect. I’m shomer Shabbat and shomer kashrut. My dad is Jewish and my mom only has Jewish ancestry WAY way back (maternal line! but too hard to document) so for simplicity’s sake I converted Conservative back when I was in high school. I’m considering orthodox giyur lechumra, but being bi muddies the water a little bit.

I’d like to find someone to settle down with eventually and have a family. Not RIGHT now, of course, but within the next few years hopefully! Basically I’d like someone who’s long term oriented too :)

Once in Israel I’m definitely open to relocating, especially after grad school.

Some of my interests are embroidery, reading, I like walking in nature, and music (I play the tuba)! I’m also pretty into trying to live a healthy life/wellness (not so much fitness, more along the lines of building mindful/spiritual habits). I’m vegetarian but you don’t have to be, it started as a kashrut thing and now I just don’t want to eat it.

Please feel free to DM me! שבת שלום :)

Conservative 36, F4M, Denver

Hello there! Giving this another try.

I'm a 36yo lady in Colorado who appreciates a weekend at the renaissance faire as much as a night in with the dog, and I'm hoping to find a guy to share them with going forward.

Edit: I thought what I was looking for here was obvious but let me be state it clearly: Hookup requests are not welcome, do not message me about "fun." Thank you.

I'll be upfront with it and say that I'm kind of a boring nerd (if the ren faire thing didn't tip you off) and I'm too old to bother pretending I'm not, but I'm not hung up on finding someone who's weird about the same things I'm weird about. What's more important to me is that you're (relatively) comfortable with who you are - and if we can both be boring nerds together, well, then that's all the better!

A little about me: I work in healthcare (though it's a desk-bound, cube farm kinda healthcare job) and have a BA in history. I have a small dog who is my bestest buddy, and number of crafty hobbies that I tend to cycle through on a regular basis. Hobby-wise I also play some video games, write fanfiction, (you know, like most people do... right?), and like to play board games with friends. I have an industrial piercing that is way too cool for me, and I’m goth in my heart but lazy in my bones, so the bats only fully come out on special occasions.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a convert, so if that’s an issue for you, now you know! I attend shul regularly at the Conservative (big C, not politically) synagogue that I'm a member of, and I'm active in the congregation. I eat kosher style?ish? in that I avoid pork and shellfish and try to limit meat and dairy (this is a tough one, I've gone back and forth with it a lot) but truly don't care if you do. I also don't care if you're particularly religious, but it is important to me to have someone who isn't, like, horrified by the idea of attending services with me from time to time.

Potentially deal-breaky things we should get out in the open: I am a normie lib who is politically active (I've got some 'get out the vote' stuff going on this weekend, for example), I do want kids, and I am not (at the moment) super interested in relocating.

Anyway, if this didn't cringe you into oblivion, feel free to reach out. (Also, I am exclusively interested in other Jews, so please respect this. Thanks!)

I Don't Label Myself 27M4A

Hello! I’m a 27 year old guy in NY. I’ve had quite a Jewish journey, ranging from not religious to baal teshuva, to more Conservative, to not religious at all, to not really being sure where I fit. I’d like to eventually have a Jewish home and possibly keep Shabbos again, but I’m not there yet. It would help to have a partner that I could grow with and find a meaningful relationship with Judaism.

I used to work in the Jewish community running a camp, senior and youth programming, and teaching. Now I work in public education and am going to school to become a teacher. I have experience in IT and am considering going back to work in IT while attending school to make things easier. I truly do love working with kids and want to make that a career (and build a big family for myself and my partner).

Outside of work I spend time with my family, my cat and dog, cooking delicious vegetarian food, reading, listening to music and podcasts, being passionate about leftist politics, and gardening. If you read this far include the word “animals” in your message.

I do deal with mental health issues so you have to be able to be patient with me when I’m i I overwhelmed by life and need my own space or need extra emotional support. I’m pretty well medicated and attend therapy so my depressive episodes are minimal, thank God, but they do exist.

I’m looking to find a person (any gender or sexuality) who I can connect with on a deep level. If you think that might be you, send me a message with the word I mentioned and a short description and/or picture of yourself!

Floridian Born & Raised, still live down here! I come from a Semi-Modern-Orthodox Background, but these days I don't consider myself very religious, though I do still keep stuff here and there so it's hard to label.

Only been out of the closet a little over a year, but with all my friends getting married and moving on in life, I've been looking for a companion more than ever. I'm not looking to get married until I've completed my masters degree, but I'm in need of someone I deeply connect to, who knows how to have a good time, is caring, and loving.

I'm 5"6, like to describe myself as a deeply caring and empathetic person with a sense of humor. I value love, kindness, and family above all else, and some of my hobbies include collecting plants, art/graphic design, photography, music (listening and playing), hockey, and much, much more. I like to go out to concerts, sports games, hiking, traveling, and I'm always open to trying new activities!

Looking forward to the opportunity to share my love with someone. Looking forward to hearing from you <3

I’m a regular, nerdy, educated gamer-type (see more of me in my profile) here. I’m 6’ and 160lbs. I love to game (video games and tabletop), watch movies (fantasy/horror/both), more homebody but always down for new adventure and trying new stuff especially with good company.

Generally I have a preference for older, more mature types here. Only really attracted to a larger, fuller-figured, chubby/beefy/stocky/dadbod type here. Sorry slim, toned or fit guys, but please don't DM me if you don't have a belly or love handles. I like good manners, family-oriented, and having good personal hygiene is a must and please no drugs/cigarette smokers.

If your profile is completely empty and I can’t see what you look like, I can’t respond, so if you send me a message, share a bit about yourself. Oh and include the word banana so I know you actually read all of this. Thanks

M4F 30 [M4F] #Washington DC / DMV - anyone wanna be cute and start a family ?

I’m a charismatic extrovert who loves being spontaneous and values a sense of humor and silliness. I love anything horror or sci fi and am just as happy binging or engaging in nerd stuff as I am being outside and in the mountains or on a river.

I’m fiercely loyal, am an acts of service boy, and I cook phenomenally.

You: confident, funny, and fairly ready to start a family and see the world together

M4F 33 [M4F] Wisconsin/Midwest - Looking for my bashert. Let’s cook, play board games, and share Shabbat dinners.

Shana Tova!

I’m a 33-year-old software engineer living in Wisconsin. I love my career and own my home here, which means I’m rooted in the area and looking for someone ready to establish themselves in the Midwest, too.

My goal is to find a serious relationship that ultimately leads to marriage, building a beautiful family, and creating a warm home together.

To give you a quick snapshot of who I am and what my days look like:

  • Tradition at home: Celebrating Shabbat dinners is incredibly meaningful to me. I want a home where we unplug, cook a great meal together, and welcome the Sabbath with warmth, conversation, and loved ones.
  • In the kitchen: I love to cook and experiment with new recipes. There is something grounding about making a great meal from scratch, and I’d love to find someone to share the kitchen (and the taste-testing) with.
  • Around the table: I’m a big fan of board games. Whether it’s a complex strategy game or a casual party game, I love the focus and interaction it brings.
  • My circle: My friends, family, and community mean the world to me. I dedicate a lot of my time to nurturing those relationships and showing up for the people I love.

I value substance over small talk. In terms of observance, I lean toward the Conservative movement—blending traditional values with modern life. I am looking for a partner who values deep communication and wants to build a future rooted in that same connection.

To skip the small talk, reply and tell me:
What does your ideal, peaceful Friday night look like, or what is a favorite recipe you love to make for Shabbat?

Looking forward to meeting you!

Virtual Lounge/Chat

Making the poll to judge interest in having a live chat/lounge type thread on the subreddit as a more informal way of meeting people and looking for potential relationship opportunities. I am also going to add an option for people to pick using reddit or maybe changing up our discord to be specifically for this purpose and keeping the sub to more formal posts and comments.
