I just wanted to get this out there because this guy has been spamming small art subs, including my favorite one, r/BadArt, posting AI-edited art, recruiting for his community, reposting art without permission, and is suspected to be doing this all so he can open a business earning money off of these small artists.
Got screenshots, blocked out usernames but I’m not blocking out the subreddit because it’s not a private community.
Photo 1: artist who had his art posted in r/beaniestudios without their permission speaks out.
Photo 2: artist calls out the guy for posting AI-edited public domain art and watermarking it as his own. He also makes zero mention that he didn’t make it all himself when he posts into other communities, leading people to upvote because they think he did.
Photo 3: guy is completely delusional, but basically confesses that this “community” will be monetized for his benefit. Also brags about views of his “art.”
Photo 4: More bragging about his “art” having many views, a bit of a strange sense of ownership going on too.
Photo 5: Message posted after banning an artist who wanted their Instagram credited for their art, not their Reddit account. Here he ADMITS HE DOESN’T MAKE ART. He just runs it through AI. He calls it “evolving” them.
Photo 6: Him recruiting on various small art subreddits, there are hundreds of comments like this that he’s spamming everywhere.
This is hardly a huge controversy, but r/BadArt has been a nice little community despite its mod being gone for over a year now. He is swooping in and mostly recruiting young artists who lack confidence. The fact that this is planned to be a business model is all sorts of wrong.
