It's honestly better than any of my first prisons I always over reach and quit midway πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚

Add in metal detectors at the entrances of the cell block to catch prisoners with contraband

I like it! One tip I received when I started playing after the tutorial: the risk of having an open plan kitchen/canteen is that prisoners are more likely to take cutlery or knives because they can just walk past it. So I agree about putting a metal detector outside of the cells block, but I recommend having them at the canteen entrance too.

looks pretty good but for the safety I'd suggest putting a wall between the kitchen and the canteen to lower the possibility of contraband like knifes being taken from the kitchen and in the deployment menu making staff only areas and in the future seperating the levels of the inmates in sectors that the other levels of inmates cannot access the other sector so that you can make one level have this type of living and layout that doesnt mix with the other level which could lead to problems between them and if you have gangs enabled the prisoners can become a part of a gang so be on the look out for that and make sure to treat the leaders of those gangs like kings so that they dont order to begin a riot or do anything which could cause a riot to break out
