Adobe Official Now in Beta: Bevel, Bevel & Emboss & other classic effects updated

A few versions ago, effects like Bevel Alpha, Bevel & Emboss and more were made legacy effects or apart of our removed/obsolete list.

The effects team has been hard at work to bring newer versions of the following effects Premiere Beta 27.1 Build 8:

Bevel Alpha (video effects > Stylize): modern take on the classic Bevel Alpha. Add bevels to the edges of your footage and graphics

Bevel & Emboss (video effects > Stylize): one effect for beveling and embossing that replaces the classic Color Emboss effect

Fill (video effects > Generate): popular effect from After Effects finally comes to Premiere

Gradient Tint (video effects > Color Correction): Tint and style your footage with a gradient. It detects mograph elements along with video and re-scales the gradient to fit them.

Hue/Saturation (video effects > Color Correction): A simple hue/saturation effect in the style of Photoshop. It includes presets, colorize option and Surprise Me button.

Posterize (video effects > Stylize): A modern version of the Posterize effect with new features and automated modes.

Radial Blur (video effects > Blur & Sharpen): A high quality radial blur with advanced features including slicing and chromatic aberation.

Zoom Blur (video effects > Blur & Sharpen): A high quality zoom blur with advanced features including slicing and chromatic aberation.

Give them a try and let us know what you think. Happy editing!

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Question about Paper edit

• Upvotes

Dont know if many people on here are using paper edit but if so maybe you could lend a little help. When using the function it looks like you can only add selections to new sequences. What is the point of that? Can't I go into my timeline of selects and create the paper edit into one main sequence?

Also it would be great if you could set an option to have the selected clips be color coded or marked in some way when they are lifted out of the timeline.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Can’t switch between my open sequences in some workspaces

I just can’t figure out the setting behind it.

I have 3 sequences open. In the Text-Based Editing workspace I see all 3 as tabs above the timeline and I can switch between them easily (screenshot 2). In the Effects workspace, only one tab shows up and I have no way to navigate to the other two (screenshot 1), even though they’re still open.

Is this just how the Effects workspace is laid out, or is there something I can change so I get the same tabs there? I’d rather not have to switch workspaces every time I want to jump to another sequence.

I would rellay appreciat some help !

Thanks!

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How to rapidly make transitions in Premiere

At 1:06 in this video, there's a transition where a clip overlaps with an image for ten frames, then there's another transition a few seconds later where the image overlaps with a second clip for ten frames.

I'm wondering how to make this kind of transition rapidly.

If I were editing this video,

I would have timeline V1 with the speaker continuously speaking with:
-clip 1 being the video before the transition

-clip 2 being the video underneath the image

-clip 3 being the video after the image.

I would then have an image on timeline V2 above clip 2.

To create the transition, I would manually drag the image back ten frames.

I would then drag the transition effect onto the start of the image.

Then, I would manually drag the end of the image forward twenty frames.

Then, I would drag the transition effect onto the end of the image.

Is there a way to rapidly do this? It seems like my current approach is really time consuming to do over and over again. (I've tried asking Chat-GPT, but it doesn't seem to understand my question.)

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Working with RED files, sped up HELP

For context, they shot a low framerate clip. According to REDCINE X PRO app in metadata tab, the clip is shot with Record Frame Rate of 12.50. but it is being read as 25 fps in my pc and in whichever editing software i use when imported.

When I import this clip in Premiere, regardless if the timeline settings is 25 or 12.50, it is sped up. It's like that with whichever player/editing app i use even in davinci.

i tried interpreting the clip to 12.50, when redragged to the timeline it extends its length (as expected cuz of the interpreted framerate) but it is still sped up and in the middle of the clip, the extended length is just a freeze frame of the last frame when the clip ends.

A quick fix is i imported it in 25fps, slowed it down to 50% speed, and it is working correctly. and i just export it in 12.5 framerate. But doesnt seem the correct way no? since i have to do vfx for this shot as well.

They wanna keep the stop motion vibe, what should i do? lemme know if there's a step by step you could suggest please.

How do I do this?/Workflow Advice/Looking for plugin (Solved!) Any experience with Jumper for B-roll mashup videos?

I make Meta ads and I was researching for a tool that could help me speed up the editing. I have a big library of B-rolls of our product and I usually have to manually search for the clips that match what is being said in the voiceover so I was thinking I could use Jumper for making a first draft for me and save me same time on having to manually look for every single clip.

I'm thinking on purchasing Jumper for this, but I just want to hear some real testimonials of other editors who have used it for this kind of thing.

Computer Hardware Advice Mac vs Windows Optimization of Premiere Pro

Hi everyone, hope you're doing well.

I had a general question regarding people who made a switch to Mac, and if they notice that Mac runs smoother than Windows?

I've been using Windows for a couple years in regards to editing, but I was considering getting a Mac Studio (unsure of what build to make yet) as on Windows I'm dealing with a lot of random lag, slow playback at times and just a lot of what feels like unoptimization or randomness to why these things happen. I understand there are a ton of variables to why this can occur, but I've also been reading how a lot of people make a switch and it's night and day difference.

I would think my PC is sufficient enough to handle 4K editing and After Effects as I have 64GB of ram, 4070TI and a Ryzen 9 5900X.

If it has been going well for you, can you please drop the specifications of what you have just so I can compare specifications of what could be right for me, and if you use After Effects, that's a huge plus.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Object selection may be limited error

Post image
1 Upvotes

Recently (since a week or 2) I keep getting this error after using the mask tool in Premiere. I never had any problems with it but now when I use it this error pops up after masking 2 or 3 clips. After this error I can't use the tool anymore and I then have to restart Premiere, which isn't efficient for my workflow. Anybody else who has this problem or knows how to fix this? I have tried so many things but nothing worked so far.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Lack of "tactile" feedback in new Color Mode

It seems the new Color Mode is going to be released in the next main update and that's causing quite a lot of dread in my workplace. As it stands now it still feels incredibly under-cooked and gimmicky. But I think for me the biggest issue is the lack of "tactile" feedback when manipulating the controls. I don't mean actual tactile feedback but the visual user interface elements that we are all accustomed to.

I don't mind the new pop up scopes and controls but it's the inability to click and drag and manipulate things on screen that is killing me. Having to just blindly wave my mouse around in the hope that it adjusts at the speed I want and to the point I want is just maddening. It feels like a gimmick from the early 2000s, something you'd read about in a Sharper Image catalogue while stuck on a plane. "Control the volume of your stereo just by waving you hand."

Just give us back control of our mouse cursor and let us click and manipulate the controls as precisely or imprecisely as we want. That would go a long way towards making this new Color Mode more digestible.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How do I create a similar, accurate, color overlay

Hello! This is my first post here straying away from my usual lurking. I'm was watching a video from Jacob Alpharad, specifically his "I Played and Ranked every Jackbox game" video and noticed his beroll screen that his editor used. I really liked it and thought it was awesome and wanted to make something similar but I'm specifically having difficulties trying to make it an accurate Overlay like the two images provided. (My references are images 2 & 3, versus my own that are images 1 & 4)

If anyone could give me some advice on how to make it look similar to my references, that would be nice!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Frame Blending introduces banding in Premiere, but works perfectly in Resolve — Lumix S5II 10-bit V-Log

Hi everyone,

After 15 years with Premiere, I’m seriously considering moving to Resolve because of this issue. I’d appreciate any insight before making that decision.

I’m creating timelapses from Panasonic Lumix S5II 6K, 10-bit H.265/HEVC footage recorded in V-Log/V-Gamut, exporting to Apple ProRes on Windows.

The issue occurs specifically with Frame Blending in Premiere.

Application Frame Sampling / Nearest Frame Blending
Premiere Pro Perfect, no banding Visible banding
DaVinci Resolve Perfect, no banding Perfect, no banding

The original camera footage does not show this banding. In Premiere, switching from Frame Blending to Frame Sampling gives a perfect result. In Resolve, both Nearest and Frame Blend produce perfect results.

What I’ve tried in Premiere

  • Maximum Bit Depth in sequence settings.
  • Maximum Render Quality in sequence settings.
  • Composite in Linear Color both on and off.
  • Render at Maximum Depth in export settings.
  • Selecting 16-bpc depth in the export settings.
  • Use Maximum Render Quality during export.
  • Different V-Log/V-Gamut to Rec.709 conversion methods, including applying a LUT and using input color-space interpretation/conversion.
  • I tried to check or uncheck "Enable Hardware Accelerated Decoding" in Premiere Pro > Preferences > Media.

None of these resolved the banding with Frame Blending.

Other tests

  • I transcoded the original camera recording directly to ProRes through Shutter Encoder, then imported that ProRes into Premiere. Frame Blending still produced the same banding.
  • In Resolve, I used its built-in Color Space Transform. The result is perfect with both Nearest and Frame Blend, same with adding LUT directly.
  • I checked exported files on 10-bit monitors and other devices, including my phone. The banding is visible in the exports, not just Premiere’s preview.

This isn’t a general problem with every Premiere export: it happens specifically when using Frame Blending in Premiere. Frame Sampling gives a perfect result, and Resolve handles both interpolation methods perfectly.

Has anyone encountered this or found a fix? Could Premiere be losing precision somewhere in its Frame Blending processing, or could there be an interaction with color conversion?

I want to be able to use Frame Blending without introducing banding. After 15 years using Premiere, seeing Resolve produce perfect results while I keep troubleshooting this is making me seriously consider switching. Any ideas? And thank you!

Premiere Pro Tech Support Text alignment issues

Hi, had this for a while never been bothered to fix it but now it's just annoying.

I'm working from subtitled captioned, but whenever I go to edit the text the red box is totally misaligned to the text layer and makes it impossible to know what I'm editing.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

Premiere Pro Tech Support Exports always hang at 99/100% for 2-4x as long as the rest of the export process

Post image
1 Upvotes

My projects always hang at 99% and then 100% for much, much longer than the rest of the export process. For example, it took about 10 minutes to mostly-export this 12-minute 4k timeline, then it hung at 99%/100% for half an hour!

Computer Hardware Advice If you're editing in Premiere on a Mac Studio with 32GB of RAM and/or a "Max" processor, do you feel like it's enough?

Context: Going to be upgrading our editing computers in the near future to Mac Studios. We're currently working on 2020 Intel 3.8gHz 27" iMacs. The editing experience is getting a bit draggy even with a proxy workflow and the computer crashes a lot. I'm posting because I'm hoping to gather real world feedback from people using base model or "lesser" spec Mac Studios. Specifically ones with 32 or 48GB of RAM and any flavor of "M_ Max" processor.

Since what we are working with matters: We typically edit small to medium-length (less than 10 minutes) client projects consisting of interview and b-roll/verite. 4K resolution footage in H.264 (XF-AVC) or H.265 codecs. Rarely use RAW codecs (it's fun to play with them, but the I've found the juice to not warrant the squeeze, personally). Interview shots will typically have a two-camera Multicam sequence. We'll use basic effects like Lumetri for color, the occasional warp stabilizer, some audio effects (compression, EQ, voice denoise, etc.).

*In addition to the above, I would however like to be able to use Neat Video noise reduction and Flickr Free plugins, which I'm aware are pretty resource intensive. I'm not entirely clear on whether they benefit from more RAM or better single core processor performance, although I think the latter. On our current machines, dropping either of those plugins on a clip drags playback to a complete standstill and you have to render and replace to use them at all. I care mostly about playback and general editing experience.

This seems to me like a fairly common scenario, so... for anyone who edits this similar type of project (on a Mac Studio): is what you are working on enough or do you feel like you need more? And in either scenario (both are useful), what are you using?

Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to reply.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Can you export multicam grid view directly?

Is there a way to export the multicam view showing all camera angles in a grid exactly as seen in the multicam monitor? This would be really useful for creating review files so others can see all available angles and provide feedback on camera choices, without having to manually create a split screen

Premiere Pro Tech Support Heavy .mogrt usage limits?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

When culling interviews, I made a .mogrt that is basically just editable text fields along with some sliders that change numbers. (I can just up/down numbers instead of typing.)

The .mogrt is pretty simple, but at the moment I have about 40+ cuts where it's used.

It runs pretty seamless at first, but as the number of instances increase, I'm noticing a hit to Premiere's performance.

Just posting to see if this is an expected issue? Opening this thread to see if there's any knowledge out there that I may not be aware of.

For context: Screenshot one has the .mogrt displayed. Screenshot 2 does not. To give you an idea of what's included.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Windows power plan issue

Hi there! Yesterday I found something interesting or maybe not that much. I was editing a videio in Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 and the program was lagging and I couldn’t play even photo with effect smoothly . For some reason I decided to switch windows power plan from high performance to balanced and it got fixed. Why is it happening? Can you give me any advice for windows optimization.

These are the specs of my laptop:

AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX
RTX 5070 8GB
32GB Ram
Windows 11

Premiere Pro Tech Support Anyone have a new RTX Spark laptop, and are you able to install Mister Horse with it? I think it's an Adobe issue, I contacted the devs and they say it has ARM support already but Adobe isn't installing the Unified Plugin Installer Agent on RTX Spark.

This is the error I get when trying to install Animation Composer for Premiere. I have tried other versions with the same result. I have a fairly default / brand new Surface Ultra with RTX Spark so I can imagine others with these RTX Spark laptops will run into similar issues.

As mentioned in the title, I have already contacted the devs for this and they have indicated that they have added ARM support, so it sounds like this may be an Adobe issue. So hopefully this post can stay up to assist those of us with these new laptops.

How do I do this?/Workflow Advice/Looking for plugin (Solved!) How to color one word of the text at a time?

Post image

hey everyone! im curious if there is a way i could highlight one word at a time in one text clip. im aware i could cut it into several different clips but 1) id imagine there is a less tedious way to do it 2) MORE IMPORTANTLY i have a wave warp effect applied to it, meaning when i cut it, it resets the clip back to the start of the warp effect, so it doesnt look nearly as natural.

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin iPhone HDR on Windows Premiere is a joke

HDR video on my iPhone. It looks beautiful on my phone and in Windows Media Player.

But when I drop it into Premiere Pro on my PC, it looks terrible. It looks completely washed out, grey, and dead.

I tried fixing the color settings (Rec 709, auto tone mapping, HLG), but nothing works. It never looks like the original video.

Apple honestly sucks for this. They make their video files a nightmare on Windows just to force people to buy a Mac.

Is there an actual way to get the real colors back on Windows? Or should I just turn off HDR on my phone forever? Thanks.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere Pro stuck on "Initalising encoding" - Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 v26.5.2

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 v26.5.2, and while things started off okay, and I had no issues, suddenly, it's freezing on this when I start rendering a video, a few videos in.

The video plays fine within PP, but then it just does this. I've tried all the suggestions online that I can see, but when it gets to 'select software encoding' that option is greyed out. Can anyone help, please?
