General It was (not) fun while it lasted but I’m out.
Guys I gave up. This thing was stressing me out more than my Ex. Just like her I loved it and hated it at the same time.
I’m too old for that shit so I’m out.
18 Pro Max for me and hopefully I will be back in a couple of years once Apple nails the design…
Have fun you all.

Manila City Hall's Clamping Policy Is Excessive
galleryIt is wrong to park illegally, and there should be a fine for illegal parking. Fair enough.
But it is NOT correct to immobilize citizens means of transportation because that is an additional burden over and above what they already pay as fine.
Take this for example -- our neighbor has a proper garage, she's a doctor. Her car is parked inside her property. Then someone parked in front of her gate which is wrong - a delivery vehicle obviously temporarily there (still wrong). MTPB clamped the delivery vehicle still blocking the gate of the doctor. Result -- the doctor was unable to leave to operate on her patient on time even though she has nothing to do with the illegally parked vehicle.
How many workers must suffer no-work-no-pay or even business people lose their deals because of disrupted livelihood?
Ang multa sa illegal parking ay nararapat lang pero clamping is just excessive and imposing added burden beyond the monetary penalty. It disrupts people's livelihood.
What should be done is to use the NCAP which as Manila City Hall mentioned already has been in effect since October 5, 2026. Take a picture of the vehicle illegally parked and let the driver/owner settle it within a fair amount of time.
There are places where it's better to tow the vehicle when it's obstructing or when the vehicle does not have proper plate number. NCAP na lang, mas mabilis pa kung collection lang gusto ng city hall.
There is a reason why Manila is such a dumpster because policy implementors are incompetent, tolerating or benefitting from chaos.

casual hot take Harry Potter fans are insufferable
Everybody I've known that likes Harry Potter are usually the most insufferable people there are so many fans that make it their whole personality and if you ever have any criticisms they will berate you
As someone who's grown up with the series I've never gotten the hype around it. Especially after learning more about JK Rowling I'm not sure how other people can stomach the series - all the elitism/classist/racism in the story - and still support the series and the author

Enjoyed reading The Horse by Wendy Williams. Then had a whiplash from absurd misinfromation 9/10th through it. Spoiler
I understood this book did not contain what I expected (I wanted for pop-ethology) but the evolutionary history of the horse was relayed intelligently and playfully. I enjoyed the prose and even where I saw the author coming to conclusions that I did not feel the presented evidence warranted, I still wanted to read her view.
Then came the final chapter about rewilding Przhevalsky's horses in Mongolia.
Among the possible explanations for extinction of original Mongolian Przhevalsky's horses was the fact that "Soviets insisted that the Mongolian people settle down and live permanently in collectives"
That's pretty weird but maybe they are talking about Mongolian People's Party bureaucrats, thought I?
But no
"in the midst of Mikhail Gorbachev’s openness policy, Soviet officials contacted the couple and suggested several possible locations in Siberia, Ukraine, East Kazakhstan, and Mongolia"
Soviet bureaucrats specifically under Gorbachev's leadership offering land in Mongolia?
And then a miracle happens
"Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Mongolia became an independent nation."
What?
And this is not a random aside. That is specifically linked to Soviets oppressing Mongolian horse culture and Mongolians regaining their ancestral ways following the dissolution of SU.
It is not an easy mistake to make. If that found its way into the published book how can I trust pretty much anything else that I read there.
I feel angry and cheated. I wish I could erase that book from my brain entirely so I would not have to second guess anything that I "learned" from it.

Discussion Reasons not to buy an iPhone Duo according to the internet:
❌ You can’t drop it off a building without it breaking.
❌ You can’t pour a handful of sand directly into the hinge without damaging it.
❌ If you stab the inner display with a knife more than twice, it somehow breaks.
❌ If you bend it backwards with so much force that your entire body starts shaking, it breaks.
❌ Some app developers haven’t completely redesigned their apps for a phone that’s been out for five days.
❌ If you’re one of the tiny fraction of people who receive a defective unit, it doesn’t matter if Apple immediately replaces it under warranty. You should still absolutely avoid buying one, just in case.
Am I missing anything?

Discussion When did team play die?
I could be missing something; I'm a returning player, so I haven't covered every new aspect of the game, but honestly, as far as I can see, the game has lost the thing that made its community so great.
Crowd control is dead, support frames are dead, the closest I've seen to team play since I've gotten back is farming teams with dedicated roles; every Warframe is the same: kill as fast as you can.
Is this what the devs wanted? What was the point of Steel Path or any of the new content if you can nuke everything all the same?
Why have the devs left half their warframes to rot while constantly promoting damage over everything?
No wonder I keep seeing people comment that the community is more toxic and whiny; the gameplay has 0 support aspects anymore- every man for himself.
Have the devs ever commented on this? It's a little disheartening to see honestly.

Discussion This franchise changed my life ngl!
I don't think a single one of these is bad, it's just a personal preference! My homie got me into Wilds and I haven't been the same since. So, I've been playing through some past games. I do think I've made a bit of an error getting into Iceborne a bit too late though (tried multiple times to really like it too) and it doesn't help that I don't care for slow-paced combat either. I can see why it's loved, respected, and important though! I wouldn't really call myself good, just really persistent! What about yall?

gals checking out men together
ive seen this happen countless times where a girl and her friends will be together and a man passes by and one of them starts staring at him. usually her friends will join in or just ignore her.
so when your girl starts looking at a man, do you notice?? do you care? does it feel weird? or is it eh and normal? is it like a 'fun girl bonding moment' where you gals are just in sync looking at the same man?

Controversial 🔨 I am a Queer from Palestine, Ask me anything!
I'm translesbian (24MtF), I have been openly queer for a while and I have dating my gf for years here (She is also a Palestinian), we are planning on moving abroad and marrying there. I can't live here after experiencing countless hateful incidents even disowned by my family and losing all contacts i had with them. I haven't done any plastic surgeries yet but I have been taking estrogen for a while, I do crossdress all the time though and I got a new feminine name although I haven't been able to change it legally.

Location Review Chicago is Overhyped.
Ill give you an honest perspective. For some reason, on reddit chicago has the most glaze out of any other city with an extreme sense of pride. It’s the crown jewel of the mid west, but it has some very real issues that often get ignored or downvoted due to the extreme pride of people regarding this city.
Public transport is genuinely ass. It’s so slow because the branches of the train which all lead to the loop don’t connect with each other at all, making trips just last 2 to 3x longer than if u were to just drive. It’s not super walkable, or at least you will be giving up a lot of comforts going carless and will default to just ubering everywhere if you can afford it. No one i know uses the trains that often. They’re ok in a pinch, but just take too damn long to get anywhere.
It’s loud. I guess the same can be true for any city, but the constant above ground trains, sirens, logistics trucks, etc the noise pollution makes living in the city proper rough for some people.
Food is good. It isn’t incredible by any means, but people move here from the midwest with no time in other major cities and think it’s amazing because they don’t have anything else to compare it to. It’s strong in stuff like polish, Ukrainian, italian, decent in mexican, chinese, korean, japanese, indian, thai, indonesian, seafood, deli’s, etc imo.
People hit or miss. The midwest is basically all white people. When they move here, they don’t integrate well with people of color at all. It is the most physically segregated city in the country, meaning people of different races hardly interact with each other if they don’t have to. And as a middle easterner, you can’t help but notice the passive racism people seem to have towards each other here. Maybe if you are white and hanging out with other white people, the people are nice, but other than that they really won’t care much about your existence.
In addition to that, most transplants move here with their high school friend groups and only go out with them. They already have their social needs met, so they don’t feel the need to socialize with people outside of their groups if they don’t have to. Which makes living here as a solo transplant incredibly isolating unless you go out of your way to force interactions with people because they aren’t going to talk to you otherwise. And you have to constantly force these interactions. People won’t even say hi to you on the street here lol. Everyone is in their own little bubbles.
Another big downside of living in the Midwest is the winters and geography. It’s flat, very little natural beauty, and far away from anything interesting. You will basically just be spending all your time in chicago unless you plan a roadtrip or fly somewhere for weekend trips. Which is fine if you like chicago, but i like getting out of my city every now and then.
Now, due to what i said prior about people harshly defending this city online, this post will get downvoted into oblivion. But i’m just offering people a more balanced perspective amidst the overblown hype. Reality is not on reddit guys, remember that.

Name Reservation Show off your names!
Name Reservation issues seem to be dying down. Some leftover problems but seems that the bulk of players have gotten through the storm.
Time to show off what you managed to reserve here.
We've also added a temporary flair for the next 24 hours if you want to just post it to the subreddit to allow users to filter both for and away on these posts.
After 24 hours the flair will be disabled and name reservations will be consolidated in this megathread for the rest of the week until launch.

💬 Discussion Ballon d'or is a joke
Rankings is an absolute joke. And I'm not talking about Harry Kane winning it. Congratulations to him, that is well deserved. I'm talking about how Michael Olise is sitting in ninth place. Because imagine if I told you there was a player who was the top assister in their league, top assister in the Champions League, top assister in the World Cup, breaking the all-time season assist record, breaking Pelé's World Cup assist record, scoring 26 goals in the process. You would think we're talking about a minimum top three contender, not a ninth place finish. Look who is in fifth position. Four places ahead of him. They actually put an MLS player four places above Olise purely for his performance for his national team. When these were the countries that he scored against in the 2025- 26 season. You can't be serious, guys. But will this Ballon d'Or prove to me is they only care about assists when it's Messi. Because this man broke every assist record while scoring 26 goals and no one even paid attention to it. That is the power that PR has in the Ballon d'Or. But at least they got first place correct. Harry Kane, 73 goals, a brilliant season and a deserved Ballon d'Or winner. But the fact Messi was fifth and Olise was ninth does kind of invalidate the whole trophy itself.

Redesigns New Flag for the South of Brazil Independence Movment.
If you look at the news, Brazil is having a moment. One of the things being talked about is the South of Brazil independence movement. This isn't about the merit of the question; it's just that they need a new flag.
The current one is ugly. The current one is just a blue background and in the upper left corner 3 white stars in a pyramid formation to represent the 3 states of this movement (Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná).
- I present below the original flag; it is the first on the list.
- My proposed redesigns are there also. I would love to see what you think and how to create the best overall flag. So, I'm requesting feedback and insights. It is not to make a true flag, but to see how it goes. True treasure is the flags we do along the way.
- My proposal is to keep the three states' elements, but as 3 stripes, and add the Southern Cross to represent not only the South, but also to match the capital locations of the 3 states (but the left star, so I colored in the stars to represent the states in some variations). Also, in some versions, a coat of arms was needed, so I created a shield and added an astrolabe, typical of the Portuguese flag, and representing the Portuguese roots as an opposition to any Brazilian symbolism (it is an independentist movement nonetheless)
- Also one of my favorite tastes: regional variation in a main flag, which is allowed by the 3 stripes, by just adding the colors of the states' flags; I created regional variations, and I present one case at the end, with the last 3 flags.
- I organized the view in sections:
- 1st is the original flag
- 2nd flags with the south cross (trying to keep similar designs together so the diference is better appreciated)
- 3rd the ones with a coat of arms and the variations of the coat of arms
- 4th a sample of the regional variants.

💩 A Post About The Homeless? Shocker 💩 To the Chipotle employee who refused to hand out the bathroom code
There was a houseless man lurking around the cashier. When an employee approached he asked for the bathroom code. The employee refused and an argument ensued. I just want to say that you are a hero for standing your ground and not giving that man the bathroom code.
I know that I would be conflicted: compassion vs rules. I think that employee has made the right choice.
