Rust. Why do players carry armor instead of wearing it?

Why do so many Rust players run around naked after leaving their base and only put on their armor or hazzy right before a fight?

Wouldn't you be way more likely to die if someone started shooting at you before you even noticed them? You'd have a much better chance of surviving if you were already geared up.

I get that it's probably to avoid looking like you have loot on you, but they're still running around with a gun instead of a rock, so I don't really get the logic.

Maybe I just don't have enough hours in Rust yet, but can someone explain this to me?

почему многие игроки раста после выхода из дома бегут голышом, а броню или хазик держат в инвентаре, и надевают уже перед файтом? так же сильно больше шанс умереть если по игрроку начнут стрелять, а он не заметит, в отличии от того если бы броня была одета.
я понимаю что скорее всего это делают что бы не привлекать внимание, и делать вид что лута нету, но они бегут в руках с оружием, а не с камнем, так что я не вижу логики. возможно у меня мало часов что бы это понимать, поэтому, кто-то объяснит?

If they wear the armour you can see from a distance that they're geared and worth fighting. If they're naked, you might not bother fighting them because you presume they don't have anything worth taking.

Lowkey, call me a dick. But if I see any sign of life I’m fighting. Especially nakeds. Time and time again whenever I go out to farm to end up killing a naked that has everything I need

That and also they've got nothing to lose. Someone stacked or a new player with a bit of loot might try to avoid getting into a fight, but nakeds... Man, they've got nothing to lose, and most of them know it

Absolutely, like 8/10 times. If I’m hidden and trynna sneak up I’ll probably not shoot the guy. But if I’m clearly known where I’m at yeah. But if we’re talking roaming. Everyone and anyone’s getting it

I specifically remember killing a naked and getting a full auto furnace set up, piping stuff, and a bunch of gdoors. Feel bad for every naked now, cause every one is a slot machine.

No boots unless you're raiding with your team and stuff like that. You make to much noise and announce you're geared.
Your own footstep can even make you lose intel cause of the noise.

People dont want to waste ammo/ alert other players on nakeds sire it doesnt always work as a lot of people kos but sometimes it let's you sar or db them

I think Aidan was the or one the first playing like that and brain other players.

The difference is that he knows how and why to do it while lot of naked like the dudes you saw have no idea. They lose 30% resistance for a small benefit ( less footstep noise among others ).

So yes, you look like a naked but if the ennemy already spotted ya, this is useless.
Anyway, everyone shots at sight, naked or not 🦌

No, the strategy is especially effective if the person already saw you. You show yourself as naked and the other player is likely to blindly push you without worry or continue running in an exposed area because you dont appear like a threat.

I take my armor off when running to look for a specific item. I should also mention I'm terrible at combat in rust. So for me I save it for when I know I'll need it.

Choppers, people can't tell your threat level, metal makes you colder in snow, other random reasons I can't think of

Game doesnt exactly punish you for being caught off guard with no cover. Instant cover, heal sprints and bullet sponge result in a mindless pvp.

It's hazzy baiting, people see a Hazmat they know you are geared, if they see a naked in the distance you might not be.

That's why it's good to kill nakeds because you never know.

Me and my duo almost died last night to a hazzie faker at Excav. We saw him coming in a yellow hazmat and pushed him from two angles when he hid behind a truck. Once we were close he popped out and killed my duo with a M4 while wearing full ballistic gear. Had we known he was geared we would have held angles from a distance because he was trapped but instead we played it stupidly given the circumstances.

Everytime I kill a naked they usually have a hazmat, loaded on comps, and a weapon, but don’t wanna show it off. They just wanna run around and use the “I’m a naked I have nothing” act. I usually just kill them so they don’t back stab me which they’re planning to do…

They’re either going to follow me back to my base to raid me with their team later, grub me for my loot if I ignore them or that dude who has been in the bush for the last 10 mins waiting for the perfect opportunity is gonna grub each of us when we run past…

I want them to make clothing like weapons, even if not equipped it would show on your belt or something like that

As it stands now i shoot most nakeds, idk if they have a p2 or a small gun or not due to it’s small size

A naked guy with a revolver is a threat

A guy with armour and a revolver is loot

And the difference is minimal for a hazy for example

If you were going to live and wall, you live and wall, if you are going to just die, you’ll die anyway

And if they DO kill you so fast you can’t react, they’ll be less likely to loot a naked than a hazy
