Next month, Chaunta, our hospice house hippo, will have been with me for EIGHT MONTHS! 🥹 Eight months of love, cuddles, and showing this precious girl that she is finally HOME.

With her terminal, metastatic cancer, we don't know how much time we have left together. But I want you to know that Chaunta is STILL HAPPY, she is NOT in pain, and she's STILL the biggest love bug you'll ever meet! ❤️

Unfortunately, her tumor keeps growing. It's now potentially around 8 POUNDS, and because it sits so low, her little bully legs are struggling with the extra weight. 💔 I wish I could take it all away from her.

Our pitbull community has already done MORE for us than I could ever repay. You've loved her, supported her, and shown up for us in ways I'll never forget. ❤️‍🩹

We don't know how much time we have left, but we're determined to make whatever time we're given as full of love and comfort as possible.

She hasn’t been herself for a while but in the last 3 weeks or so and she seems to be getting more and more withdrawn and sleepy I don’t know how to explain properly but I know what I mean.

The vet we are with is a charity vet she’s been there over 25 times since she’s been on earth she’s almost 3. Majority of the time they gave her anti sickness injections or charcoal paste.

I did try to get her tested for whatever could be bothering her stomach but all they said was from what they did was feel her stomach and mentioned she has an umbilical hernia that shouldn’t be causing her any issues at that time.

I’m not sure if it’s because she’s older now and she still isn’t neutered (I’m not planning on breeding her it’s just a money thing because the vets were with have a history of botched neutering so my aim has always been creature comforts doing it instead) I’m not sure if maybe that could be bothering her, at the time they said to get it closed at the same time as her neutering.

She barely eats she doesn’t play she just strolls by me. She barely has energy for toilet walks let alone long walks. And if I do get her downstairs and outside she pees and jumps on the car so I can drive her to her shit spots… Can’t remember the last time she did a full round hour walk and she used to do minimum two of those a day. I’ve checked her legs by lightly squeezing no indication of pain etc. she’s been very anti social she won’t let me pick her up either and she’s going toilet less than she’s scheduled too but no accidents inside.. which means she’s not drinking water like she used to.

Booked the vet and I’m not asking for a diagnosis just if anyone has had any similar issues with their pibbles. Vets won’t take her as an emergency but I just don’t see the point in having them do the same injections that just make her sleep and constipated for two days.

She grows intolerant to food. No matter what if I think something works she stops tolerating it after a while.. I don’t know if she’s sick because she isn’t getting enough nutrients or if she is or if she’s just got something else going on.

I don’t know if all I explained will lead to something I don’t know if I’m overly anxious thinking she’s sick in a bad way… I just don’t know.

As some of you may know this girl is my life. I went homeless for her, hungry for her, lost my car for her, lost or sold most the things I own for her, still don’t talk to half my family till this day because of her. And I’d do it all again. If she’s sick I genuinely don’t know how what or why just please is this deathly concerning? Or could it be a lack of nutrition etc (she can only eat white fish a little bit of hypoallergenic white fish kibble and a bit of rice split twice a day) or is her intolerance to food a symptom or something i don’t know ?

My friend found one and the owner doesn’t want it anymore. My friend can’t keep the dog. Any ideas how to find someone interested in adopting this dog?
I looked up shelters and they are full of pitties.

They’ve been scamming on reddit since 2020, have been banned in a lot of borrow subs as well as donation subs.

Report their GFM so it can get shut down and the scammer banned.

My sweet Luna is finally starting to feel better today, and I can't begin to describe how relieved I am. 😭❤️

A few days ago, I spent 24 hours straight doing grocery and meal deliveries, trying desperately to build up a little savings. I just wanted some financial breathing room.

Some sense of security after everything I've been going through.

I had no idea that every single dollar I earned that day would end up going toward saving Luna's life.

I went almost 30 hours without eating. I was exhausted, hungry, and already struggling with my own health, but I kept pushing because I felt like I couldn't afford to stop.

And then Luna got sick. 💔

Watching this sweet little puppy become so weak, unable to eat, vomiting, and barely acting like herself absolutely broke my heart.

She depends on me to keep her safe, and there I was, terrified that I wouldn't have enough money to get her the help she needed.

I don't think I've fully processed how frightening these past few days have been.

I'm worried about my mental health. I'm worried about what I'm doing to my body just trying to survive financially. And even though Luna is improving, I'm still terrified of something happening to her.

I've spent so much energy trying to keep everything from falling apart that I haven't really had a chance to acknowledge how badly I'm struggling myself.

I don't regret a single dollar I spent on Luna. She's worth every penny, every sleepless night, and every ounce of love I have to give. 🐶❤️

But I'm tired. Not just physically tired. I'm emotionally exhausted from constantly having to choose between taking care of myself, keeping my head above water, and making sure this little creature I love so much gets everything she needs.

I don't need a perfect life. I just want a little stability, some peace, and the chance to take care of Luna without sacrificing my own health in the process.

Today, she's doing better. And right now, that's the one thing giving me some hope. ❤️🐾

It has been 77 days since I had to say goodbye to my most beloved. I found myself crying all day today, missing him like a part of my soul was removed. Then I learned that today is traditionally the day we light the way for our lost blockheads.

My candle is lit for you, sweet boy. There will never be another like you.

8 months since we adopted this crazy girl off of the euthanasia list after 3 months of being overlooked in the shelter. She’s enjoying the new lease on life so much and her brother enjoys having a playmate again

He had his neuter yesterday. Please enjoy him on gabapentin and trazadone vs when it wears off. The only saving grace in-between doses is that he HATES the show I am currently watching so he will put himself to rest in the kitchen when it's on.
