Hello! My name is Aya Grace L. Margarito, a 5th-year BS Architecture student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, College of Design, Architecture, and the Built Environment (PUP-CADBE). My thesis, "Philippine Science High School - Negros Occidental Campus: Designing Learning Spaces for STEM Education through Adaptive Architecture," aims to develop a new campus design using input from students and teachers alike.

What to expect from the interview:

A semi-structured interview, about 15-20 minutes

Questions about your day-to-day experience with classrooms, labs, dorms, and campus spaces

hii!! i redownloaded this app to ask ab the lateral 9 exam.

i’m looking for tips on what to review, since i’m worried about what i’m learning to be wrong.

i’m currently studying at a private science high school, so our curriculum here is a little more advanced. so, i plan to just review my old textbooks and listen a little harder during our science, english, and math lessons now.

in grade 7, our advanced subjects were:
-statistics
-earth science
-speech

and currently, in grade 8:
-environmental science
-basic chemistry
-technical writing

my questions are:

1. i heard a lot of laqe takers went to review centers, but i don’t think my parents will let me. do you have any self-study methods/channels/workbooks/reviewers?
2. is it all multiple choice?
3. how many takers usually?
4. what should be my focus points?
5. what else should i study?

Currently, I am a Grade 8 student, wanting to apply for lateral admission to Grade 9 at PSHS-MC for the next S.Y.

I am really no aiming for MC, I would want any branch as long as it’s PISAY, I am taking the exam to MC because it is the nearest branch in our province, according to Google it takes 25 minutes–30 minutes to get into MC, and 50 minutes via public transit, depending on local traffic conditions.

I am planning to review on January till the examination, I don’t really like writing (but I can get through it, I will write everything I have to), I am also planing to enroll for a review center, which review center is good at producing students who wants to take LAQE 9? I am planning for 2 or simply just 1. I am also planning to enroll to Kumon (I easily get the math lesson though but my private school lacks a good quality of system even though we pay enough for it). I am also weak in Sciene but good in Mayh, with English 50/50 with it. I easily gets the Math lessons but the problem is I cannot remember geometry and more, I forgot them, I can learn it again though.

And so, for those who took and passed the LAQE for Grade 9, I have few questions: do I have to study abstract reasoning, what do I have to study for Math, Science, and English, will it be the same topic again? Last year until this year, same test paper? Can you help someone who struggles and often overthinks like if there is a certain topic, I will ask questions to myself such as, where did this came from? Like making it deep. Are there any specific reviewers, books, or YouTube channels you would suggest or recommend?

since it's card-giving season, i want to share my story

nung grade 7, palagi akong nagkaka substandard sa math. i don't remember a quarter na may (final) grade ako na mas mataas sa 2.75. naalala ko pa non, kada card-giving iyak ako ng iyak kasi feeling ko hindi ko deserve yung slot ko tas sayang lang yung pagkakaeffort kong mag-aral kung hindi rin naman ako pumapasa. may mga araw na 3am ako natutulog tas 5am ako magigising kasi service yung sinasakay ko papunta pa sa school.

kahit sa ibang grade level, palagi akong may grade na substandard o 2.50 na super duper sabit. pero sa kada submission ko ng portfolio, palagi kong naririnig sa teacher ko na "she's very creative" tas ako lang nakaka-perfect sa lahat ng creative portfolio sa batch ko. from there, i found my passion in arts (which is very ironic kasi philippine SCIENCE ba naman). kada humss project, palagi akong pabibo tas dun ako nagsimulang maging leader.

in grade 9, i even directed a project kung saan kami nagplace sa lahat ng sections na handle ng teacher ko :)))

hanggang ngayon, hirap na hirap parin ako sa mga subjects ko. pero kung ikukumpara moko sa sarili ko non---andami ko nang pinagdaanan, andami kong iniyakan, pero alam ko na andami ko ring natuto. natuto ako na hindi ako mamamatay kung hindi ako dl, natuto ako na okay lang pala na hindi ako magaling sa math, at natuto ako na mas malawak pa mundo ko kasya sa grades.

hindi ko alam kung makakatulong ba to (i just got inspired by this one post that reminded me a lot of grade 7 me) o makakainspire ba naman. pero sana sa lahat ng magulang at estudyante dito, alamin niyo na grades will never be everything. continue to lead, continue to pursue the arts, continue to write, draw, dance.

continue to be you, because no grade will ever take your identity away from you. pshs man o hindi.

i failed first quarter. my gwa is 2.03. and ive been crying nonstop ever since because i used to achieve well in elementary school.

Question ko lang po, pwede ba gamitin ng outsiders ang football field kapag weekends? Or may pa-football clinic ba sa campus kapag weekends? Pag alumnus kaya pwede gumamit?

Ang alam ko lang, yung basketball court ginagamit ng alumni kapag Sunday.

Sobrang sakit because I spent months preparing for this, and I was very confident that I could pass the exam—until I didn’t see my name on the list. I feel so stupid and my morale is really low. I keep asking myself where I went wrong and saan ako nagkulang. Pakiramdam ko napagiiwanan nako because I'm supposed to graduate next year pero eto parin ako hindi parin pinapalad.

Is there really a possibility of getting into PISAY? I will try LAQE 9 next year and will start to study in January. My current school doesn’t really give the education that I want, the system, and it’s boring. It’s a private school but there’s no sports or any extra cellular activities.

Hello, I am currently in 10th Grade and I really want to start building my college resume as early as now. I want to get into universities abroad. I was a perpetual director's lister in 7th-8th grade but I kind of slacked off in 9th grade. I'm really anxious that my downhill in 9th grade will affect my chances of getting into universities abroad. I'm doing well this 10th Grade so far because it's just now that I started to worry about stuff like these.

What can I do to significantly increase my chances of getting into universities abroad?

1) In joining competitions, do I have to inform the school? If I don't inform the school will my awards and participation still be present in my resume?

2) At what grade/year do universities check your grade?

3) Some universities require AP classes and they add to your credit. Pisay doesn't have AP classes but I heard you can take the tests for it. Can I take AP tests starting this 10th Grade and how? Do I have to inform the school? If I don't inform the school will the AP tests still be present in my resume?

4) When can I start taking the SAT? Can someone elaborate this whole SAT thing for me more. Thank you.
