Don't get me wrong. I love this little guy so very much.
He's around 14/15 weeks old for context.
I have been having such a hard time with him lately. I provide him enrichment, climbing opportunities, playing with him directly, and plenty of different toys for him that I swap out. But he's so keen on going where he's not supposed to and destroying things.
A few of my siblings who have had kittens say that he's definitely an ornery cat. And that he's a little psycho. He's honestly very sweet when he's not in his attack and destroy modes. (He does normal kitten playful attacks, nothing crazy or that actually hurts me.) I can't get him to stop jumping on things that I keep directing him away from. On top of everything he's just a CRAZY KEE KEE.
I've had family cats growing up but for some reason I don't remember any kitten being this crazy. Is this normal behavior? Does it get better? I'm not a person that ever rehomes my animals and that will never be the case. He's staying right here with us but I am begging for some advice if any. I've talked to my husband about getting another kitten his age for him to play with, but as of right now we don't want to push anything financial too far and don't know that it would be a good idea to get a second one.
Will he eventually grow out of this stage or are we doomed? š« š
Should we try and factor getting another kitten into our budget?
