Transfer Transferring without GAA

Has anyone transferred from NOVA without going thru GAA? I’m more curious is you applied with a lower gpa than the 3.4. I’ve spoke to admission at UVA while they have done transfer fairs and they made it seem like they accept almost anyone but just wanted to hear others insight!!

Hi!! So my gpa was about a 3.7 but I wasn’t able to use the GAA as well. To be completely honest with you, your chances might be a bit low considering GPA matters a lot at UVA, but I think if you’ve shown improvement ( like going from b’s and c’s to mainly A’s and a B or two) you have a decent chance! Try to show off your extracurriculars as well, it might help your chances if you can show you’re really passionate about what you want to do.

That’s what the uva rep said and tbh I’m not that far off, I’m at a 3.2 but bio is kicking my ass a little and I’m at a C so I’m worried I won’t be where I need to be. I think I’m more in my head than anything if I’m being honest 🫣

😬 do you have any backups? I don’t wanna be mean but a 3.2 is pretty low for UVA 😭😭 do you have any extracurriculars? Research? Anything to kinda help boost your app
