The story was a reading on youtube done a while ago. i cant seem to find the channel that read it but i can recall a few key story beats

The main character was contacted by another version of himself that wanted to escape his current world. the doppelganger swaps with the original, sending him to the parallel world. im forgetting how his wife ended up there too, but a major point was them trying to find a way back to their own world before the people who lived there killed them

they werent being hunted, but the people who lived there seemed to be violent and lacking morals. i vividly remember a scene where the main character smells something burning in the city and finds out that theres people being burnt at the steak

im pretty sure the story ends with the doppelganger eventually deciding that he should stay in his world, and returns them to their own world.

im just going based off what i can remember, but this has been eating me for a while and i cant find it

It was a long, maybe multi-part story about this person visiting her family home or something and went through a painting or something similar or a door coraline style and wound up in an alternate, identical reality but there were small changes and it slowly got worse? Her name was some bs like Beth and I remember there being a dead girl in the attic or something that was the root of the curse I think

Years ago I remember listening to this story on one of the scary story reading channels on YouTube. The narrator worked at an office building which was attacked by multiple huge monsters. There were at least two parts to the story, with the second part mostly talking about some kind of food (I think it may have been quiche, but I can't remember specifically). The context was that part 1 had an off-hand mention that somebody had brought in a quiche(?) from home. The second part mainly just talks about quiche(?) with only vague allusions to the havoc being wreaked by the monsters, as if it's an elephant in the room the narrator is purposely avoiding talking about.

It’s told from the point of view of the killer. He first kills a popular girl he liked in high school. After graduating, he works at a liquor store and kills a female customer. Some time after, he’s running from the cops and kills a guys in a casino. He ends the story with the words “that’s all folks.”

It was a classic mimic r/nosleep story. Narrator invited his friend, who he has hiked with before, for a hike. Then, when the narrator got to the hiking area, he waited around an hour, I think, for his friend?

He was supposed to go check his phone but then his "friend" appeared and he thought, "Hey, you're finally here!" Then they go hiking. While hiking, the narrator wants to test the "friend's" memories and retells some stories. Of course, the mimic agrees with him on everything until the narrator says,

"You weren't there when this incident occurred to me."

So he just runs and runs, gets in his car, and goes home. When he checks his phone, apparently his real friend messaged him that the trail shut down because people died while hiking there and invited him to go see movies at a theatre. He checks his front door, the mimic followed him and is begging him to be his friend. The story ends there.

Can't find it unfortunately, would appreciate some help, thank you!!

I can’t find it out Nosleep
Believe it had a different name and I can’t find that either! The Nosleep version not the published version

In which there was a scientist. He had discovered a way to stop aging by some injection/DNA editing. He shares his results with the rest of humanity, gets lauded as a hero. He is one of the last people to turn himself immortal. But theres a catch. After a precise duration of time since the immortality transfer, the person dies from a horrible, painful death. As the scientist waits his own turn to face this, he holds a gun to his head, incase the pain is too much in the end.

There is also an AI/computer element that i did not understand.

It was about a family (maybe they moved there? i dont remember) in a community that was in some kind of bubble or cordoned off in some way and everyone was FORCED to be happy. The family attended/hosted a neighborhood house party/mixer where someone played an unapproved or different song on the piano. Someone reacted badly to the music (I think MC's dad or grandpa?) and started having a huge fit and threw paintings and chinaware etc around. Please help I feel like I'm going insane

It would likely be in the last five years. The concept was the narrator was organising a bunch of audio archives they had (possibly inherited from their dad?) and was transcribing them for nosleep as transcripion pratice. It was primarily a local radio show in the last day before an entire town vanished but there was also 911 calls and things.

I remember it interested me because the author was either a professional transcriber or knew their subject because the transcriptions were excellent, and looked like genuine transcripts so the whole thing was immersive.

I remember there was a storm in the broadcast. And it was definitely a multipart series because I never finished it/don't know if it was finished.

I read it about 8 years ago and the parts I remember are:

- A man working in a laboratory of some kind and a doctor was trying to talk with someone as they die or after they died.

- Something came back in the dead person and started attackng people and put the doctor on the machine.

- It was a voice in your head and once you died it got to take over your body or something.

- The worker was forced into the machine but got free part way through the procedure and escaped the building as a friend he had called arrived to help burn the building down.

- The end of the story (at that point) was the worker hearing a voice in his head telling him to kill himself so it could have its turn.

Would love to see a follow up if there is one.

I’m trying to find a creepypasta/horror story I listened to several years ago, probably sometime around 2018–2022. I’m pretty sure The Dark Somnium narrated it, but I could be mistaken.

From what I remember, the main character is a father who may have been a detective or journalist investigating a serial killer who breaks into homes and brutally murders children. At the beginning of the story, he tells his own child to go upstairs to bed because it’s getting late. He then stays downstairs on his computer, reading about the killer and several of their gruesome murders. Throughout the night, he occasionally hears noises coming from upstairs but assumes it’s just his child moving around. Near the very end, he finally goes upstairs and discovers that his child has been brutally murdered by that serial killer he was looking into. He realizes that the noises he’d been hearing were actually the killer murdering his child while he was downstairs reading about the very same killer. He never actually sees the murderer.

The story was extremely dark and disturbing, with a similar atmosphere to Borrasca or Penpal, where there is no supernatural overall tone to the story. Does anyone recognize this story or know its title?

A lot of the nosleep stories I have come across have some kind of supernatural element to them, but I find stories more connected to reality much scarier. Some of my favourites currently are A game of flashlight tag and Eggshells.

Any other recommendations?

I remember very specifically it started off with this immortal person talking about how they worked in some sort of black market bdsm type business where they were paid to let people beat and gore them, and they would always heal from it. And I think afterwards they ended up getting kidnapped and used as an organ farm.

Hi all!

Looking for a story that was essentially about a boy who tells his mother about bullies at school, the mother goes to “deal with it” and then the family has to move, this repeats until the police find the bodies or the bullies in the mother’s closet. It is then revealed after the mother is taken away, that it was the boy who was killing the bullies, not the mother, and she was just hiding the bodies and trying to keep her son safe.

I distinctly remember the final line being something like “now that mommy is gone, who will stop me?”

I think its quite popular. It was about a paranoid guy, sorta trapping himself inside his room because he just kept getting more and more paranoid about the humans surrounding him not actually being human, but rather robots. I think there was plot point about a gal who wanted to invite him to party or smthin? Anyways, the ending was that he was correct and the robots have indeed taken over (I think the ending would have worked better if the author stuck with the paranoia nagle, but still - amazing story)

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to find a horror story I listened to on YouTube some time ago. I believe it was narrated by either The Dark Somnium or Let's Read, but I'm not completely sure.

Here's what I remember:

It was a fairly long story, possibly divided into multiple parts.

One of the main characters was a friendly, dog-like creature. I remember imagining him as a Labrador or Golden Retriever.

The creature could speak and had a goofy personality. In the narration, he had a rather deep, silly-sounding voice.

He was one of the good guys and became friends with the main character, who I believe was human.

The main character met this dog-like creature during the story, so they didn't know each other from the beginning.

The dog-like character frequently wagged his tail when he was happy. I distinctly remember this being mentioned several times.

Despite his friendly and somewhat goofy personality, he was incredibly dangerous when necessary.

I remember a particular scene where the dog-like creature brutally crushed or killed someone or something. The main character was shocked because he hadn't realized his friendly companion was capable of such violence.

The creature had a name, but unfortunately I can't remember it.

I vaguely remember the dog-like character getting seriously injured, or possibly even dying, at some point in the story.

The dog character wasn't evil. He was genuinely friendly and lovable, which made the contrast between his personality and his terrifying strength particularly memorable.

I believe the story involved supernatural creatures or entities, but I can't remember the overall plot.

I've searched through my YouTube history without any luck.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd really love to find this story again!

Thanks in advance!

I can't find this nosleep story I remember reading a few years ago. I believe it was from the perspective of a cop investigating a series of murders where the bodies were torn apart and hung up in trees. By the end, it turns out that the narrator was the killer and he was doing it as revenge for the racist things that happened to his family in the past.

If anyone knows which one I'm talking about, please let me know.

My friend is trying to remember a story that was on the NoSleep podcast. She said it was about a woman who goes crazy because she thinks her kids are disappearing but it turns out to be her husband who killed them and buried them in the backyard under some flowers.

I’m looking for recommendations for r/nosleep stories where the protagonist explains that something strange, supernatural or terrifying is happening to them, and the people around them actually believe them or take them seriously.

I recently just tore through all of Coney-IslandQueen‘s works, and I’m obsessed with the depiction of bleak Americana horror. Would love similar recs if anyone has them!

Looking for a horror story I read around 2015–2021, possibly on r/nosleep. It followed a male college student who went to college to escape his small hometown and didn't want to return. He was behind on his assignments/ didn't study for a test or something, and if he failed he'd have to return home. He received some mysterious pills from his roommate, and after taking them, his intelligence increased dramatically, almost like "gears clicking into place". He was able to finish all his work because it suddenly made sense to him in a way it hadn't before, almost like child's play. His expanded intelligence also allowed him to see into other planes of existence and perceive enormous, godlike beings that he shouldn't have been seeing. He also encountered or communicated with his deceased father in one of these planes, who may have been abusive. I believe the entire experience happened over a single night in his dorm room. It was a somewhat longer story.

I read this story a long time ago. I don't remember the the story very well but I think it was something like this.

A guy's girlfriends goes hiking or camping in a forest (Alone I think) and doesn't return so after a few day's or weeks he goes to look for her himself, possibly after the official search is called off.

He arrives in a town right next to the forest and is warned by the local cops to give up the search and to not go into the forest where she vanished but he doesn't listen. I'm not sure if he actually went into the forest to look for her or not. I think at some point a local cop warns him that "something" might try to visit him in the night and tells him not to let anyone in.

One scene I remeber the most is the guy in his motel room at night when his girlfriend returns trying to get in though its obvious something is extremely wrong with her. I think she couldn't get in because one of the cops blocked the door with salt or something. The doppelganger dies when the sun rise's and I think it remains were non-human, maybe plant or fungal like.

After that a cop explains to him that sometimes when people go missing in the forest these doppelgangers return and try to trick the missing persons family and friends. The guy then leaves town.

I'd like more stories about unnatural creepy liminal endless suburbs. So far, I've come across a BlairDaniels story with that theme and am looking for more. Anything that would likely have people commenting "This is like that movie Vivarium" or, like I see under Dreamcore/liminal spaces/backrooms-related social media posts... there may likely be a bunch of comments that just say "Vivarium" lol. In other words, I'm craving another story similar to that movie. Nothing is coming up for me when searching "endless suburb" or any variant of that.

Also, I prefer stories with detailed descriptions.
