I'm hosting an online/virtual workshop on making noise music taught by Jeremy Stewart of the band Christians (notable for a lineup that once included Stanley Zappa).

Includes a take-home writing prompt for creating an original piece of music to share and get feedback on (pun intended?).

It's the first in a series where experimental musicians teach their craft.

Happens on Zoom over two Sundays: Nov 8 & 15 Details here: https://songmakers.ca/workshops

If cost is a barrier, DM me and I'm happy to offer reduced admission. (It's in Canadian dollars so US folks will already save quite a bit with the exchange rate).

I just rewatched David Lynch's Eraserhead and the whole movie feels like a noise track. One of the best incorporations of noise in a film I have ever seen!

The part that sucks is I didn't write any of what I was yelling down and I lived it. And now it completely eludes me :'(

My head feels like a broken machine every single day. I end up sleeping all day just to escape the physical pain, then I wake up, lock myself in the basement, and let the noise explode.

This track is called "Breakin' Out Of Us" from my upcoming DIY project "TRASH SHIT" under my alias ACID MORPHEX. I took some raw rap loops, completely shredded them with heavy tape overdrive, and smashed them into clipping industrial 808s. Made the visual and audio on a cracked phone screen with zero budget.

If you're looking for a clean, safe, radio-ready electronic mix, get the fuck out. But if you want to hear raw human error and genuine sonic chaos, let me know if this hits hard enough. Unfiltered thoughts only.

I'm mainly a doom/stoner/sludge/drone metal fanatic, but I really can't stop returning to this track. There's something so dark and strangely cathartic about it that brings up a similar feeling to exploring abandoned places littered with fragments of the past (I feel this a lot as a bone collector and Half Life 2 fan).

I can't fully summarise or explain how this track feels or what it does to my mind, which probably says quite a lot about the feeling it brings up. I know that they have some other noise in their discography but it's 04:11 and, as much as I want to, I can't dedicate the next few hours to listening to blackened/tortured doom because if I do, I'll want to start drawing and/or cutting lino or drypoint which is always a death sentence if I need to get something done (like sleep)

I'd love to hear more work in this style, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I can't edit the flair because Reddit keeps changing and removing features :(

Trapped in the basement with a constant headache, tracking pure audio destruction through a cracked screen.

New track "Pale Skinned Skull" from my newr DIY project "TRASH SHIT" under the alias ACID MORPHEX. Blown-out rap loops, heavy tape distortion, and clipping 808s.

If you want a safe, polished mix, leave. For my Darkbeasts—turn it up until your ears bleed. Drop your most brutal thoughts.

I’m not here to play a character or sell you a fake image. Every single day, my head feels like a broken machine—a constant, heavy migraine that makes me sleep all day just to block it out.

To survive that pain, I locked myself in my basement and created a state of mind I call The Iron Migraine. Instead of looking for quiet, I wake up and intentionally destroy my ears with harsh industrial electronics and distorted rap loops. I use the noise as a shield to drown out the noise inside my own skull.

I call this place Sub-Level 0. It’s a raw, unfiltered sanctuary. The people who actually listen to my tracks and feel this energy are my Darkbeasts—you guys are the community that understands what it means to find comfort in pure, clipping sonic chaos.

As for the gatekeepers and elitists who cry in my comments because it doesn't fit their textbook rules? You are just Shadows of the Corrupted Ones. You are blinded by safe, polished trends, and you're terrified of real human error.

This is my upcoming project "SUB LEVEL 0" under my alias ACID MORPHEX. It’s not a pleasant listen, but it's 100% real. To my Darkbeasts, thank you for locking in. More noise is coming from the basement.

I don't make music to sit neatly in your safe playlists. This project is a biohazard.

The new track is called "Sick Threat" from my upcoming DIY album "TRASH SHIT" under my alias ACID MORPHEX. I took some raw rap loops, completely corrupted them with heavy tape overdrive, and let the 808s clip until the meters broke. Tracked everything in a dark basement through a cracked phone screen with zero budget.

To my Darkbeasts who keep asking for more—this one is for you. To the Shadows of the Corrupted who keep crying about textbook definitions—turn your volume up and bleed. Drop your most brutal, unfiltered thoughts below.
