FAQ
What is an Indie World Showcase?
The Indie World Showcase is a pre-recorded video presentation showcasing upcoming indie games for the Nintendo Switch.
What is the difference between an Indie World Showcase and a standard Nintendo Direct?
This presentation will ONLY include information about indie games, unlike a traditional Nintendo Direct that would focus on a variety of games and topics. This one is approximately ~15m in length.
What if I can't watch the Nintendo Direct live due to work/school/etc.?
You can follow along in our Discord server, linked above, where we will have a special #indie-world channel available. We will also be posting a text recap in this post once the event has concluded.
If you want a spoiler-free experience or to watch the event later, we will edit this post to include a direct link to the VOD at the very top (once it's available). This will take you directly to the video so you don't accidentally see any trailers or video thumbnails if you visit the Nintendo YouTube page or Nintendo website. Just don't scroll down!
There WILL be spoilers here on the subreddit, so watch the video first.
If you see any posts that should actually be here in the MegaThread, please do us a favor and hit the report button.
Our SOP for posts is as follows:
- We will allow one post per announcement.
- The post we allow may not necessarily be the one that was submitted first. We typically will receive about 15 of essentially the exact same post in the span of about 60 seconds. From those, we will select the one that has the best title and links directly to the original source when available.
- Commentary on the announcement(s) should take place either in this thread or on the related separate announcement post. Each person's specific opinion does not need its own post.
Cheers,
The r/NintendoSwitch Mod Team

Discussion Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is truly an enormous, yet fantastic, game
I've been playing daily since day 1, I have over 95 hours, and yet I've just started by 4th Part 1 Arc.
This game has so much to enjoy. Each of the 3 stories I've played has been great fun (I've done Cai -> Leda -> Theodora).
I've been recruiting different characters every time, seen new support conversations each time and the best thing I can say about the game is that despite following the same game structure and flow for each route it has yet to feel "samey".
The main characters are all well fleshed out and their stories all manage to have interesting twists and developments.
I've been especially surprised by Cai's story, pre-release he seemed to be the most "vanilla" of the 4 but he's actually a lovely fella. Theodora's arc is really well done and she changes a lot through the story (and it's great how much of it is through Cai, playing Cai's route before her route definitely improved the story telling) and Leda's revenge story is surprisingly intertwined with the lore of the game in a way I didn't anticipate originally.
I've also found interesting how the perspective changes on the same events/fights based on the route you are playing. For example I've done the Cai vs Leda fight first as Cai and I was confused as to why Leda was going crazy pre-battle, then I've seen the same events from her perspective and it made it click.
Another neat detail I've enjoyed is exploring the overworld map during the free time with a character, seeing other leaders' position on the map outside of Dagda and then getting to see what they were doing hours later when playing their Arc.
I'm excited to do Dietrich's arc now, from what I've seen he and Fabio are really weird dudes in a pretty dorky way, and every time I've spoken with Esmeralda she seemed a really sweet bun.
Even the technical aspect of the game is fantastic. I love the character models in this game, they are well modeled and well animated. The presentation is solid and the music is peak. Each route has its own basic battle theme and the "special" (ex. the final battle) themes are all exceptional.
Honestly my only complain so far, and it's mostly a nitpick, is that the battle against Alexandria is shared in 3 routes so I have to play her a 3rd time in my next route.

Review The handling of Minecraft for Switch 2 has been atrocious
For those of you who aren't aware, Minecraft for the Switch 2 released just over an hour ago. Present are issues we've known about for some time thanks to beta testers, others are completely new issues.
So far it's been nothing but problems that mostly could have been prevented completely.
- The free offer for people who already own Minecraft on the Switch is only a limited time offer
- The lack of an upgrade path means Physical users can't upgrade to the Switch 2 version at all, necessitating another purchase for them to access the Switch 2 version.
They raised the price of the Switch 1 version of the game on the eShop for some reason. I doubt it will drop again after the free Switch 2 version is no longer offered.Edit: This price change is regional and likely to reflect pricing differences. However, it is still worth noting that in some regions, Minecraft for Switch 1 is now more expensive than Minecraft for Switch 2.- The lack of an upgrade path also means that after January 31st, users will have to purchase both editions separately if they want what few upgrades there are currently or if they downgrade to a Switch 1 and want to continue playing
- The Switch 2 version has a bad input lag that increases the lower your framerate is, with Vibrant Visuals being enabled capping you at 30fps with a big input lag.
A couple other notes that aren't problems but questions as to why they haven't been modified, changed, or fixed
- The 2gb world limit hasn't been lifted despite technical upgrades from the Switch 1 to Switch 2
- The continued lack of mouse support despite the Switch 2 having JoyCon 2 Mouse controls and the Switch 2 fully supporting keyboard and mouse controls
I've seen a lot of games I was really looking forward to getting Switch 2 versions just completely ruined by massive issues both in development and publishing, which is funny because of the ones I've been looking forward to, it's continually Xbox-published games that are experiencing these types of problems.
Edit* Reflects that it is not a Switch 2 Edition, but just a version of the game made for the Switch 2.

NA W Nintendo Customer Support:expired game voucher
Bought a pair of Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers back in October 2025, redeemed one for Pokémon ZA, and completely forgot about the second one until I realized it had recently expired.(about 2 weeks ago)
Figured I’d give Nintendo support a shot through their live chat. Surprisingly, the whole process took less than 10 minutes, and they gave me a 7-day extension to redeem my remaining voucher!
Honestly wasn’t expecting much, but credit where it’s due. Huge W for Nintendo customer support.
Just sharing in case anyone else is in the same situation. Definitely worth reaching out!

Discussion I regret getting my switch repaired.
I couple weeks ago I (gross warning) threw up near my switch. Yeah yeah I’m dumb whatever. After cleaning everything thing up I didn’t think anything got on my switch but I clean it anyways and move on. Then I realized it wasn’t charging. I kept using it as normal until it died with no problems. I figured stuff got in the port so it wouldn’t charge so I sent it in to Nintendo to get it fixed.
I got it back today and they sent me a brand new switch with all my save data lost. I’m super crushed about this because I was expecting they would assess the problem and just replace the port but it seems they didn’t. I’m super crushed about this obviously but sadly don’t think there is anything I can do.
I also realized I sent my switch in with an SD card in it and Pokemon Scarlet that I completely forgot to take out when I sent it in.
Anyways I regret sending it in and wish I would have just found somewhere local that would have fixed the part rather than replacing the whole thing since the system.
