Miller purchased 500 tickets against the Wizards for breast cancer awareness night because his mother is a breast cancer survivor.
“I was really going to do more, a lot more than that,” he said — and then went out and put on a show. By tossing in a career-best 39 points, hitting the game-clinching bucket and leaving his imprints all over Charlotte’s 110-103 victory at Spectrum Center, Miller couldn’t have scripted it any better.
Despite this, Ant is shooting less free throws than Desmond Bane and Duncan Robinson, who have less than half his field goal attempts.
The latest great call was an obvious foul by James Harden at the end of regulation last night, which would have given the Wolves the lead with 3 seconds left in the game. (and he isn’t the only player on our team suffering from a bad whistle)
Utah Jazz star Jaren Jackson Jr. has sustained a torn MCL in his right knee and will be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks, sources tell me and @BannedMacMahon. Jackson will not require surgery.
He’s been an excellent playmaker this season finding guys with no problem its a breath of fresh air after having a certain wing lead the league in turnovers last year
If Anthony Edwards fails to qualify for awards by missing the 65-game threshold he will no longer be eligible to sign a supermax contract. Through the first four years, Minnesota would only be able to offer Edwards $10 million more than all 29 other teams in free agency.
With Minnesota: 5-year, $337.6 million ($67.5M AAV). With another team: 4-year, $250.3 million ($62.5M AAV).
Minnesota can offer Edwards a 5th year, but they no longer have a massive financial advantage when it comes to retaining him by being able to offer him nearly $100 million more than any other team.
ESPN reports 93 injuries, not including Anthony Edwards. So there are 94 players who are out or day to day. The league is made up of approximately 30 teams *15 players, so a total of 450 players.
In the past 30 years, 80 teams have started 0-4. Of these, just 14 (18%) have made the playoffs, and only 2 (3%) have won a playoff series. Neither of them made the finals or won a conference finals game. Only 1 team won more than 50 games, and the median is 26 wins.
Things are not looking great for either of these teams right now who had championship aspirations going into the season. They'll either fall well short of expectations, or do something no team has done in 30 years.
Knicks have a tough opponent tonight playing the Pistons, but do have a chance to move to 1-3 and not be part of this list.
In February 2018, the Indiana Pacers broadcast put up the infamous graphic showing that only 4 legendary NBA players and Thaddeus Young had ever put up these career statistics: 800 games, 13.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 49% FG%, 30% 3PT%. This rarefied club became a poster child for the statistical malfeasance of cherry-picking.
Almost immediately, Thaddeus Young himself dropped out of the club (his PPG, RPG, and SPG all fell in the following years). Since 2019, the "Thaddeus Young club" has only contained 4 players: Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Lebron James.
However, this past week, with little notice or fanfare, Kawhi Leonard quietly played his 800th game, becoming the fifth member of this prestigious group. I've adjusted the graphic accordingly.

Jokic is only missing on SPG (1.3) so he could join the club as well. Anthony Davis also played his 800th game recently (he's played 811), and is close on steals (1.32) and 3P% (29.2%), so it's not impossible that he could join the club for a bit.
(sorry this is kind of offseason content; I meant to post it before the season started but I kept forgetting.)
P.S. my hot take is that the original graphic wasn't an example of awful cherrypicking. All the stats are "greater than", not "in this range" or "in this specific situation", and they're all common box-score stats. It is legitimately cool that Thaddeus Young was in that exclusive statistical club. It's not like they were like "has to be between 6'3" and 6'5" and only counting stats from odd-numbered years and has between 20 and 25 points".
