You need a permit to mudlark in London.
Hello.
Earlier someone posted about their finds from London and then said they don't have a permit.
In London you need a permit from the Port of London authority to go onto the foreshore and search for objects, even if you just scan the surface with your eyes.
This is for a number of reasons ranging from safety to yourself and others to making sure any important finds are properly reported. There are also sections of the foreshore that are protected sites.
Please get a permit before you go mudlarking in London and do not post here in ways that may encourage others to not get a permit. Familiarise yourself with the rules of any section of the foreshore you will be searching as different levels of activity are permitted in different areas.
More information about permits can be found here: https://www.pla.co.uk/Environment/Thames-foreshore-permits
Thanks. And happy mudlarking!

Spotted this while on a date 15 months ago and it was still there yesterday!
15 months ago I went on a first date to a local country park and as we were walking I spotted a bottle neck with this stopper in it slightly sticking out of the path. I really wanted to dig it out but I was too nervous to expose my weird hobbies that soon so I didn't say anything and left it there 😂 it's now 15 months later and we went back to the same place yesterday. It was still there and he helped me dig it out! 😂

Found fully lead object on Ohio River Bank near New Albany, IN. Any ideas on what it might be?
The item is completely made of lead. (Pics of me after I realized and stopped touching it directly. 🤦♀️)

Location: Found in East TN in a dried up lake, and other things around it seemed to be from 1900-1930
Thought it was maybe a shoe horn? I’m really not sure

Location: Anyone recognize the logo/wording?
SCPA. I couldn't find the rest of it despite digging around. I think it says "FEDERAL ORREU.."? It's a thick piece of dark glass.

Tractor, car, wagon, or train part?
Edit- I have strong suspicion this is parts to a horse drawn plow but I'm not 100% positive.
Found in what I believe is old farm land(SCPA). I can't find much info further than that, which is why I want to know if anyone can discern clues from this stuff. The last two photos are of this weird brick built around a tree, that's where I found this. I also dug up a concrete pad next to the tree that was covered in foliage/dirt. Thanks in advance.
