I was offered this engine for 40 euros. The owner said it needs to have it's piston rings replaced. Does anyone know what could it come from? Also it's reliability and speed.

Recently rebuilt this broken minarelli V1. Replaced the crank, bearings, seals, clutch and got the DOS 70 cc cylinder - it was water logged and rusted. It now start sright up but it’s got this weird rattle which seems like it’s coming from the cylinder head, is this normal? I’ve tried different gaskets different thicknesses not getting much luck, also checker there is little to no movement of piston at TDC when head is off no dont think its piston slap. Anyone got any ideas or is this just what’s to expect?

Hi everyone, I need some help diagnosing a problem with my Aprilia SR.

Cylinder: Malossi MHR Racing 70cc
Carburetor: Polini PWK 26mm/ tried keihin 24 too
Exhaust: DDL exhaust
Crankshaft: Doppler Endurance
Reed valve: Stage6-style VForce 3
Intake manifold: Straight intake
Air filter: Malossi E13 (
Fuel: Motul 800 premix, 1:25
Main jet: 125
Transmission: Polini variator and a custom/special crankshaft setup
IMPORTANT: I have a special Polini engine/crankshaft setup with a variator designed for 9 rollers instead of the standard 6. The variator has a smooth bore with no splines. It uses nine small rollers, and the correct special variator setup is required. This is not a standard 6-roller variator setup.
Symptoms
The scooter has very poor low- and mid-range acceleration and struggles to engage the powerband properly. Depending on the transmission setup, it either barely moves unless I give it full throttle or revs very high without pulling properly.
At high RPM, it sometimes behaves as if it is hitting a rev limiter: it stutters/bogs and refuses to rev cleanly through the powerband.

Thinking about buying this as a seconday exhaust for shits and giggles. I have an exhaust that gives over 2 peak hp extra, but the scavenging doesnt really add to peak rpm so top speed increases by only about 2kmh. I saw a trusted seller dyno it on my moped model and he went from 50 to 58 kmh. Im trying to buy an exhaust that is realistically like to run sometimes so im looking for opinions. Thanks in advance

Hello, Im quite new to owning a moped and have amateur experience working with engines, but a month or so ago I Picked up a Beautiful 1978 Mobylette 50v (with 12v lighting system) And ive slowly started working on upgrading it, I've started with the Treatland.tv le partie CDI kit since the stock magneto just kept having problems, but the whole thing has been a nightmare, me and by buddy have been tackling it for over a week between school and the included hi-coil and CDI box have seemingly died on us and the quality of the kit is questionable. Now Im looking for something higher quality then these kits from CGN and have rally been considering MVT's kits made for the MBK 51, Specifically the DD01 or the EXT100, though Im not quite sure how they would preform on my stock AV7, I intend to upgrade it during the winter sometime to a airsal 70cc kit with a dellorto 15.15 but i need an ignition system now since the bike is completely non fuctional till then. Does anyone have any insight they could bestow upon me, how good are MVTs CDI kits and which one should I go for?

i didn't change the clutch rubbers still runs and shifts like an absolute dream. I changed the oil with a new bottle from 1994 i found in an abandoned house

So i figured out myself, ill put It here in case someone has the same problem, the oil pump makes a Bridge between the White wire from te starter switch, you yust hace to jump the White wire from the oil pump conector to the red-blue wire from the same conector and your brake lights and blinkers should work again

This is a 1980 Sachs Prima. I came out this morning to find that the cable parts have come apart and now the moped wont start because of this. Hoping its a simple fix but I want to know what more experienced others have to say about it. Thanks!

I put a replacement carb on my 65 Honda Cub (not a moped I know but it’s a very old 50cc) and it won’t idle. Most of what I can find online about idle speed and mixture screws assume that the bike idles already. The carb I bought didn’t have the screws in the holes when I got it so I just screwed them in to a random tightness. What should I do?

Anyone know if it's possible to change the needle bearing on the Sachs 505/1 drive gear? The one on my Columbia Commuter needs to be replaced. Looks like the gear is factory pressed. Curious if anyone has experience with this issue.
