As part of an ongoing personal project where I bring album covers I love to life, here's my take on MGMT's Congratulations! 🌊

I also posted some behind-the-scenes and more animated album covers over on my Instagram, if you'd like to check them out :)

I was at this show and caught a drumstick. It was a cold, wet, incredible night. I want to frame the stick and thought it would be awesome if I could find a print to frame with it. Anyone have one they would sell me?

Posting to see if anybody has extra tickets and willing to sell one or go together lol. I tried getting presale tickets and never got past the loading tickets screen.

Gonna try my lucky on general sale tomorrow but can’t imagine how quick those will go and the third party ticket rules are sketchy.

If anyone has a ticket they are selling but going I’d definitely buy it, bc of these rules I’d have to walk in with you too? I’m not sure. Haven’t been to a church concert where it’s like this but I’d appreciate anyone helping out!

I recently bought this weird '60s drum machine in an online auction and was pleasantly surprised to learn that MGMT used it all over their 2013 self-titled album.

I know a lot of people don't vibe with that record, but I'm a huge fan. I love how weird, repetitive, and psychedelic it is. It's one of those albums that gets better every time I listen to it.

I can especially hear what sounds like this machine on tracks like "I Love You Too, Death," "An Orphan of Fortune," and "Plenty of Girls in the Sea."

The machine itself is a JAX-230 from 1968. It's full of these strange, lo-fi percussion sounds and hypnotic preset rhythms that have so much character.

I ended up modifying mine to accept MIDI and meticulously sampling all its sounds and rhythms so I could use them in my own music.

I wrote a little article about the machine and its connection to MGMT if anyone's interested:

Anyone else think their self-titled album is underrated?

(In better news, I now have John MGMT in my contacts)

Got to shake Andrew’s hand as they got off stage and tell him how great Loss of Life is! Ben booked it to get to the back😂

Here’s the Kids Remix from the vip section at the Concourse Project last night.

Hey y’all I have been getting into the concert scene recently and have been a big MGMT fan for 10+ yrs so Im devastated that I havent been to a concert yet nor see any tour in the works😭😭 they are one of my faves so I was wondering if they just aren’t the concert type? Or if its possible they may perform here anytime soon??

Thank you!

Again, if you buy an xxl shirt at this show I’ll literally pay you to ship it to me cause I NEED IT

I've been a casual MGMT fan for a long time, always appreciated and known the hits. I'm a long time aussie psych enjoyer - Tame, Pond, GUM, PPC, Gizz, the likes, plus their involvement with touring with Andrew and Ben. MGMT has been a group that for the longest time I've told myself "Man, I really need to get into these guys' discog." Siberian Breaks comes on. Mind blown. I went through a 3-week period where I would listen to it 6 times a day, some times three times in a row. Siberian Breaks is one of the best songs that has ever graced my ears. Congratulations is PHENOMENAL. I'm an active member of the Tame subreddit and see posts like this about some of Kevin's hits and my reaction is always, "Yeah, no shit." Well, here I am in your guys' space doing the same thing. I fucking love this song, have never heard anything like it, and probably will never hear anything like it again. Put it in the Louvre.
