Honest review on my 2026 baby(fake) amg

It’s been almost 2 months of owning this vehicle and just about crossed the 1000-mile threshold and finally broke her in.

Just got her first oil change as a break in maintenance as well.

So far:

This thing is not slow. Google says 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. Multiple owners alongside myself are around 3.6-3.8.

The comfort is amazing for being a compact sedan.

Pinnacle trim is a must on these amg’s. The 3d sound from Burmester alone is worth it.

This thing is a gas guzzler for being an inline 4, lord have mercy but it’s worth it man.

She handles so well. Not too much screen so it feels luxury still (I like the super screen but also it kind of kills the appeal of luxury imo.)

I honestly don’t get the hate the w206 gets. I get the c63 hate but as a c43 this is amazing. Driving arguably the best built inline 4 engine in history while having all the current best updates on the car needed, this thing is over performing from what I expected with all the reviews everyone has made on it.

I can confirm though that the transmission being “jerky.” There are times (only at 2nd gear) that there’s a slight jerk at the beginning, but now it’s practically nonexistent.

Great deal on her too because of it. 11 grand off felt great with an employee priced extended warranty (100k miles 6 years.)

Absolutely in love with this.

My 1 gripe are the wheels. They’re ugly.

She’s originally all black and I got her a full-body satin matte ppf.

FAIR WARNING: DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Pay top dollar if not close to it.
My experience with this kind of work has been a nightmare and still ongoing, to the point where the past installer texted me personally and threatened me with the fact he knows where I live, knows someone who works with me, and where I work. Yes I refunded the work done on my car. I have one of my posts on auto detail if you’re curious.

The car looks great after being fixed by another shop owner that did the installation himself.

Don’t look at social media or read reviews. It’s hard to get confirmed results of shops outside of word of mouth. Do your research! I wish I did.

“When the last of the current SLs are crafted they’ll be poised to join a long line of classics. Then the existing lines surrounding the powerful V-8 will retire, becoming part of automotive history to make way for the next generation of SL legends.”

Good deal? 1985 GD 300

Looking at this 1985 GD 300 for 30000 euros. Has the 5 cylinder OM 617 diesel with an automatic transmission. It’s for sale in Germany, however when I move back to the states I won’t have to pay shipping costs due to work paying for it. It has 150,000KM, so around 90k miles. Wondering how much this would be worth in the states.

brought the car in for a check engine light a week ago. They finally got around to looking at the car this morning and have come back with a $13,000 dollar estimate. The car is a 2019 S560 with about 70k miles.

If there’s a more appropriate sub for this please let me know.

My attempt at a Lego Mercedes-AMG E 63 S (W213)

Features:

  • Openable 4 doors
  • Openable boot
  • Openable hood
  • Functional V8
  • Detailed seating interior

Some things you might find intresting is that the 'hooked' part of the headlights is made using minifigure hands.

Unlike the rear car, this one has a RWD drivetrain (axle connects both rear wheels, spins main shaft, shaft attached to 'engine' mechanism). I do have a method of making a V8 AWD mechanism at this scale, but it's inconsistent, ruins stability and isn't fun to put together so decided to just focus on the V8.

Somebody came at me driving the wrong direction at the highway, had no other choice that trying to get away and he flew into my door… Insurance saying it’s probably going to cost too much to fix it but what do you think?

Mercedes Benz 2019 c300 I’m buying on Facebook has become a pressure purchase

Let me start off by saying I’ve been looking for an affordable Mercedes that’s newer while nicer for a 20k budget,

and I’ve been discussing a listing with this seller for a week now, was this weird of them for how they spoke to me or am I tripping? The sense of urgency they made out of the blue, the way they went about it, just kinda felt weird, especially for a 2019 c300 in the near 60k mile range

E400 ticking noise

Hey I’ve seen some other posts about this but wanted to make my own to be sure. I’ve never heard the ticking be this loud almost obnoxious from the outside. Can anyone verify this is an okay noise? Is it the purge valve? Hopefully it’s not timing chain that’s this loud lol. Also any preventative maintenance I should be doing? 2018 e400 with 62k miles.

Any idea how much this repair should cost? Or if I attempt to do it myself, somewhere reputable to buy the replacement cover? Based in the midlands, uk. Thanks!

Problèmes rétroviseurs électriques w206

Post image
0 Upvotes

How does everyone feel about the direction that MB is going in right now?

I think some of their choices are great. They are putting 6 cylinders back into the c class with the c53. The cle53 is a phenomenal car. But then we get to see these new electric AMGs and it’s like what even is that. I am conflicted.

Is wanting a C118 CLA with AMG Line over a C/E-Class delusional, or does it actually make sense?

Hey everyone,

My absolute dream car has always been the CLS. I love the four-door coupe silhouette, but a decent CLS is simply out of my budget right now. However, I can comfortably afford a 2020–2023 CLA (C118) in my local market.

To me, the CLA gives off mini-CLS vibes and delivers the exact aesthetic I'm after, especially if I get one with the AMG Line package (exterior styling, better seats, steering wheel, etc.).

Visually, I feel like I’d be much happier walking up to a sharp CLA AMG Line every day than a standard C-Class or E-Class in the same price bracket.

However, reading reviews and forum posts has me second-guessing:

  1. The Engines: A lot of people trash the lower-spec engines (specifically the 1.33L Renault-co-developed engine in models like the CLA 180 / CLA 200) for being underpowered or unreliable.

  2. Interior Quality: I keep seeing complaints that the interior materials feel cheap compared to traditional Mercedes models, with noticeable squeaks and harder plastics.

My question is: Am I being delusional for prioritizing the looks and mini-CLS styling of an AMG-Line CLA over a proper C-Class or E-Class, or does this actually make sense for someone in my position?

For those who own or have driven a C118 CLA (2020+):

Is the interior quality really that disappointing in daily use?

Are the base engines as bad as people claim, or are they fine for normal driving? Should I strictly hold out for a 2.0L Mercedes engine (like the CLA 220 / CLA 250)?

If you chose a CLA over a C-Class, do you regret it?

Would love to hear your honest thoughts!

GLE 2021 charging flap stuck

Hi all, the flap to the charging socket on our GLE 350 hybrid won’t open. I’ve found the emergency release cable in the trunk/ boot , but it doesn’t appear to do anything either. I’m reluctant to pull really hard on it. Any tips?
