Hi. I found a questionnaire in Russian, but I translated it into English because I hadn't seen it before and thought it was interesting. I'd be glad if someone could help me figure out what type I might be based on my answers and my way of thinking. I can say that I consider myself INXP, but I'm open to other interpretations.
1. How do you feel about political correctness? Explain your point of view.
Positively. Every person deserves respect and neutral treatment without negativity until they prove otherwise. And political correctness is exactly about respect for a person and their personality. Why insult and offend people if they haven't done anything to you? So it's logical to be polite and politically correct.
2. Find the odd one out among 4 words: potato, stool, laser, tape recorder. Suggest several options.
Potato, because it's the only edible item here. I can't really think of much else to remove. For every word I mentally remove, there's a "but" where you could remove something else by the same logic, not just that one word.
3. Suggest as many uses for a hair comb as possible.
Combing hair on your head, arms, legs, armpits. Smoothing out wrinkles on clothes if you try. Can't think of anything else.
4. How easily do you wake up in the morning?
Depends on what for and after what. If I know I have to get up and go to class where there's a Chinese dictation or a lecture with a stuffy and toxic woman, then of course, waking up and forcing myself to get up and open my eyes will be hard. But overall, on average, I wake up normally, immediately switching to pleasant stimulants from my phone and headphones on my head.
5. Is it easy for you to force yourself to do something if it's really necessary?
Hard. I generally don't like to strain myself or do a lot. I immediately become uncomfortable when a situation requires immediate action, mobilizing myself, my skills, and resources. I easily go into distraction from it, doing anything unimportant and smaller, but definitely not the hardest thing that requires attention. Mobilizing myself is hard; it's not that frequent when I pull myself together. But they do happen. Maybe when the situation is already really bad and I've run away from it for too long.
6. How necessary is freedom of speech in the modern world?
Freedom of speech is always necessary. There's this rebellious part inside me that constantly says everyone around is hypocritical, people arrange everything so it seems like everything is voluntary, like everything is fine, but in reality they don't let people speak. And I believe that freedom of speech is honesty in a world where everything is false.
7. In what cases do you think a human life can be sacrificed?
In cases where there's no other option. If one life will lead to saving a hundred. If this person threatens me or my loved ones, then their life is worth nothing. I'll admit honestly, if I personally don't like someone and they have some qualities or did something bad to me, then I'll also think they can be gotten rid of.
8. What is idle talk to you? What is a useless waste of time?
Idle talk is possibly even somewhat inherent in me. When you talk but don't do. Or when you say one thing but do another. And your words have no value. A useless waste of time is when you spend minutes, hours, days on something that essentially has no meaning for you and is probably just imposed on you from outside. It's something you don't need, doesn't bring joy or dopamine, but is just something you want to skip as fast as possible.
9. Can a cheerful person be evil? Could you be friends with someone who served time for a serious crime?
Yes, they can. Evil can wear clown shoes and a red nose. Look at the Joker. An evil action covered by a joke and a cheerful vibe — why not. Depends on what crime they committed. The most important thing in a person for me is loyalty, devotion, that they accept me. So if that's there, then that won't be as important to me. But I'll rightly be wary of this person if the crime worries me, because who knows if they'll want to repeat it. People are unpredictable.
10. Give 5 of the most positive and negative qualities in a person.
In theory, any quality can play out differently in a certain situation and with a specific person. So I wouldn't be so categorical. But I can't stand arrogant, haughty people who put themselves above me and treat me and others accordingly. I'm also not a fan of hypocrisy, obvious stupidity tied to stereotypes and unwillingness to understand or change one's point of view. So these three qualities are the most negative that come to mind, though sometimes it seems you can work with that, but most often I want to hit such people on the head with a plate.
11. How do you feel about the fact that borders of states change through wars?
I don't see the point in it because I'm not connected to politics in any way. Maybe if I were connected to it, I'd understand. But as it is, I don't care, however cynical that may sound to someone. As long as it doesn't affect my life, I'm not concerned.
12. If a person committed a serious crime, what punishment should they receive?
Depends on what the crime is. How we assess its severity, motives, context, and so on. If in my opinion someone committed something truly irreparable, then I'm not against the death penalty. For example, for pedophiles there's no other punishment but the electric chair. There's no point in keeping the dregs of society alive since they're potentially dangerous, and there are no resources to work with them; it's too tedious to rehabilitate those who won't be helped anyway after the crime has already been committed. And keeping them in prisons means spending food and money on it. For what? I consider it unnecessary and impractical.
13. If you could choose a superpower (teleportation, mind-reading, etc.), which one and why?
Mind-reading. Like Charles Xavier, for those who know Marvel. The main problem for me has always been people in life. I was angry at arrogant people who, because of their position of power, played with those who wouldn't fight back; I saw vile teenagers who asserted themselves at the expense of others and their humiliation. If I can read their minds, then I can control them, learn to use it over time. And if it's specifically Charles's abilities, then I could directly control my surroundings too, well, or the most unsafe of them.
14. What is an intelligent person? Do they have to be educated?
An intelligent person is someone who is able to skillfully and advantageously use all their knowledge, skills, abilities, and traits, even if they aren't the best according to society. Someone who knows how to truly think. Someone who can find a way even in a situation that seems like a dead end. They don't necessarily have to be educated. I'd say education is important but somewhat overrated now, given the level of education I see in my own studies. You can be smart in different ways; you just need to know something that will be useful specifically to you, not a bunch of general unnecessary crap, and be able to work with it.
15. Do you have a personal life philosophy?
Not sure about that. But something I constantly talk about when asked on related topics is my realistic or even negative attitude toward the world. Yes, I'm admired by the actions of other people when they save someone, act heroically, show courage, come together and fight for something important. However, I prefer not to believe in people, agreeing that by nature they are selfish, ready to kill another to save themselves. In a sense, I support this approach myself because in this world you really are on your own. You know, I sound like the Frontman from Squid Game, lol. So my philosophy is that I help in a moment that's safe for me, I don't harm others for no reason, because a lot can bite me in the back.
16. Do you have an "inner circle"? By what criteria do people get into it?
People come to me themselves. Not often, but I mean that I don't seek friendship, I'm comfortable as is. And people take the steps themselves. There are few of them. I currently have one best friend, and a couple of acquaintances with whom we play together on Discord, and my best friend introduced me to them. I don't have strict criteria for someone to be able to communicate with me or write to me, though for that, for getting closer, it takes a lot of time. But the closest people are those I'm open to, whom I trust, and who don't betray. Who never betray and are ready to accept me as I am, also helping me and often being more altruistic than I am.
17. Are there famous people you respect? For what?
I respect those famous people who aren't afraid to go against what they don't like, what doesn't align with common sense, those who have done a lot, who are professionals in their field. I respect those who have the courage to do and be what standard society doesn't approve of.
18. Describe your ideal leader.
Someone who doesn't comfort but changes the perception of the situation without denying the situation itself. Someone who won't punish for a mistake but will point out where the mistake is to teach you. Someone who leads by the hand without allowing themselves to turn into a tyrant. Who takes into account everyone's characteristics and treats everyone fairly instead of trying to make everyone the same. Someone who can understand rather than condemn.
