Discussion Something I've always wondered about, or does everyone go through something?
At the end of Endgame, Captain America returns the Infinity Stones to prevent other futures or alternate realities, but hasn't this created more futures?
Because he has to return everything to its order and location, but with the space gem it's a different case; he was supposed to have returned it in the cube or the tesseract to avoid creating more branches
So how do I return it?

It's not about preventing branching timelines, it's about not dooming the timelines by permanently removing a stone from them.
The 2012 timeline they went to is already irrecoverably fucked, but at least taking the time stone back means earth might not get eaten by dormammu.
The guardians timeline they went to is now without thanos and his army, there's no 'fixing' that, but he's still returning the stones.
The Thor TDW timeline is forever changed.
None of those changes matter though, because those changes don't affect the original timeline.
