Reliability For those who switched manufacturers mid-contract: what was the actual breaking point, and how did you handle the transition without losing your tooling/molds?

I did a quick check on one of our scales: I weighed the same bottle five times and got readings that spread by about 2.3 grams once I converted to six standard deviations. Our tolerance is only 4 grams, so the scale alone uses more than half of it.
I know five readings from one operator isn’t a proper Gauge R&R study, and I know the 10% and 30% guidelines, but I’m not sure how strictly people apply them in practice.
For people who run these studies regularly: what limit do you use, and did anyone push back when a gauge failed? Did you replace it, or change how it’s used?
