Princess - Update
She started limping a few weeks ago running down the ramp to the garage with her brother. After taking her to two vets (1st vet said knee is dislocated, was pushing for x-rays; second vet said nothing’s wrong) and resting for two weeks but still limping, I decided to get a surgery consult. Surgeon said she probably has a CCL and meniscus tear.
She had surgery today and the surgeon said her CCL was completely torn and had meniscus tear so he cleaned that all up. She had the “fishing line” surgery also called Extracapsular repair (also called Lateral Suture Stabilization). She is 10 years old plus under 30 lbs so she didn’t need TPLO. So glad it went well because I was worried about her mitral valve disease and how she’s going to do with anesthesia.
Took her home, gave her food and she ate which is a good sign. Didn’t want to drink water and no potty.
I also made a belly sling out of a cloth reusable bag to assist her while going to potty (saved me about $20 ☺️).
Strict crate rest for two weeks then maybe start leash walking for 5 minutes a day then build up from that. They want her crated for the full 8-10 weeks except for leashed potty breaks and leashed walks. This is going to be fun! She’s gonna hate me so much after this!

My dog was supposed to be a Malshi but he looks different. What breeds to you reckon?
What other breeds do you think he is? I think he has some kind of terrier in him.

How often does you Maltese eat per day?
Truffle (7 1/2 months) has been a picky eater from the day I got her, and she effectively only eats properly once a day and leaves her kibble in her bowl untouched for her evening meal.
This would be fine, if she didn't constantly seem to be looking for other food.
She basically only wants to eat treats and yummy chewys. I ended up only offering her treats and chews on days she has eaten her kibble, but thats when she then won't touch her dinner as she is hoping for something yummy again.
So then she starves herself till the morning while trying to sniff on the kitchen floor for a accidentally dropped snack. And then in the morning she'll eat again as she won't have eaten for a day.
Its a bit frustrating because she only eats her kibble when i completely deprive her of treats and chews, then she'll eat all the kibble serves.
But i want to be able to give her a treat when or a rabbit eat to chew on while i'm working.
A friend just told me that their dog (Havanese) only eats once a day. How often does your dog eat?
(I've tried other foods including wet foods and its always the same after the initial novelty wears off so i decided to stick with kibble as it won't go off she leaves it for hours untouched)

Meet Poppy!
I caught her post bath time sitting in her chair on the porch. No cold paws around here.

Scared to walk outside
I think my baby is afraid to walk outside of our home. We tried to make him walk in the park and inside the mall but he does not want too. Anyone with the same experience? How did you train yours to walk outside. Tried bribing him with a treat but no avail.

peeing problems
hello everyone,
i have a 7yr old maltese, and lately we have been having some peeing problems.
ever since he was little, we taught him to never pee or poop in the house, he either pees/poops in the balcony, in the yard or on walks.
we taught him to stay home alone, and we never had any problems with peeing inside the house, up until 1-2 years ago.
when everyone is home, he never makes any mistakes and never pees in the house, but the moment we walk out of the house, he finds a spot and pees.
we used every possible cleaner we could find to clean and make the place not smell anymore, but he still does it.
we let him out on the balcony and in the yard multiple times a day, and we also take him on walks at least once a day.
my parents work every day, and i go to school, so he has to be alone at certain times, and he never misses the occasion to pee somewhere inside the house.
does anyone have any help or advice regarding to this? we never had problems up until 1-2 years ago, he always listens to everything, but the problems start as soon as he is home alone. is he doing this out of spite? out of fear? we have no idea.
if anyone knows what to do, please let me know.
thanks everyone!
