Damn imagine being married for 70 years to the person you love and one day you're gone forever. Tun M is going to miss her alot.

u/OriMoriNotSori Sep 28 '26

This is them going out on a drive, posted on Mahathir's channel end of last year. They pretty much still act like a couple even in old age. He will miss her for sure

53

u/FaraYuki09 Sep 28 '26

Thank you for sharing... it's so sweet seeing them interact. May this kind of love finds me

26

u/tideswithme Sep 28 '26

Tun M pranking and teasing her too while driving was really awwws for me

18

u/anndrenalyn 29d ago

what I'm pissed off is that he's the one depriving all of us affordable good Japanese cars like in the video.

3

u/OriMoriNotSori 29d ago

Indeed. Always an enigma

45

u/MR_IKI Sep 28 '26

Man, I hope his heart stays strong, stuff like this ain't good for the heart, and dude's a century already.

33

u/SheikhMahdeek Sep 28 '26

He's gonna be dead soon too. Long term couple normally go quickly one after another

13

u/gnote2minix 29d ago

She was 21 years old when Malaya achieved independence. Wonder the things she saw throughout her life.

29

u/Balbatos Sep 28 '26

While we were rioting, shouting for najib's home arrest, she probably seen enough darkness to be not bothered.

1

u/Vivid-Cod-6608 26d ago

I'm sure at her age when she was still alive she's at a point where things happening are just...things happening. It's no different to like a parent seeing their kid cry over a failed relationship or getting a bad grade

6

u/SextupleRed Sep 28 '26

Your maths is wrong though. When she's 21, the war is already over for about 2 years

10

u/sirgentleguy Sep 28 '26

You are right. Why I thought 1947. She was 31. More impressive

121

u/FAshcraft Sep 28 '26

100 year is very long life.

103

u/OriMoriNotSori Sep 28 '26

A life well lived. Especially when she has had her loved ones, even husband, all the way and did not suffer major physical health issues and was still mentally fine too till the end (no alzheimers etc.)

Also did her thing by being a doctor and indulged in healthy cultured habits like reading and playing the violin or piano. Most of us could only hope we live a life as long and fulfilling as this

-10

u/anndrenalyn 29d ago

to be honest, he didn't deserve a great woman like her

10

u/Der_Redakteur Sep 28 '26

yeah, from the age of telegraph, to a phone touchable screen. It's soo hard to imagine seeing technologies goes like that in flesh.

58

u/Downtown_Ad8478 Sep 28 '26

During iraq war she herself goes in a humanitarian mission knowing well with her there the aid will came through such strong sense of humanity

51

u/lorkosongsong Sep 28 '26

Will always remember her as the biggest supporter of Malaysian badminton team too

44

u/encikmizi Sep 28 '26

Innalillah wainnailaihirojiun. Salam Takziah to her family.

At the age of 100, she saw a lot of changes to the world.

She was 13 when WW2 began, 15 when Japan invaded Malaya, 31 when Malaya gained independence, 37 when Malaysia is formed, 63 when the Berlin wall fell, 65 when USSR is dissolved, 71 when the Asian Financial Crisis happened, 74 during the Y2K, 80 at the start of smartphone era, 93 during COVID, and 96 at the start of GenAI era.

u/VexObserver Sep 28 '26

This one genuinely hits different. A whole generation of Malaysians grew up seeing her as this calm, steady presence beside one of the biggest figures in the country’s modern history. Reaching 100 and living through that much of Malaysia’s story is honestly remarkable. Al-Fatihah, and condolences to the family.

Whatever anyone’s politics are, moments like this kinda transcend all of that. Someone’s mother, grandmother, wife and a person who had been part of the national landscape for decades is gone. Rest in peace 🕊️

u/isguhg Sep 28 '26

Those in PAS who always ridiculed her for not wearing a hijab should be ashamed.

146

u/AdRepresentative8723 Sep 28 '26

Somed already has some people bashing the admin for uploading a pic of her yg x tutup aurat, instead of offering their condolences.

Salam Takziah to Tun and his family.

55

u/Radiant_Result_809 Sep 28 '26

People in that era more open then people in 2026 with better mentality which does not make a person less islamic by wearing or just a shop selling alcohol they have the will power to hold onto thier identity and fate. Unlike people now which only shout the loudest being the most fateful... RIP dr

18

u/thecescshow Sep 28 '26

I wonder if they know that Tun M himself dont like when her wife wears hijab.

Ramai kawan sekerja aku yang bertudung. Tp mulut tidak pandai bertudung pula. Fitnah 24 jam

I have colleague like this... she's well.. like to talk at the back of others. She rant softly at the back seat with her cronies. Talk behind someone they don't like. But immediately switched face when trying to ask about solving certain problem..I don't care she talks a lot of things.. but most of the things she said involving other people things or higher ups management but never brought it in meeting. Today she also does the same. The same thing over and over all weeks

I thought hijab is a choice?

45

u/Party-Ring445 Sep 28 '26

Yes it is, was, has always been a choice. Unless it has been ingrained in you that it isn't. Unfortunately too many have been taught that these days..

Those are terrible people. She is a beacon of courage for not wearing the tudung and blindly adopting the Arabic culture of hiding women.

Now we are only left with Rafidah and Azalina.

Malaysia bids farewell to its gentlest soul. May her decades of devotion be rewarded with the highest peace in Jannah.

31

u/Initial-String107 Sep 28 '26

May Allah grant her the highest peak of Jannah & forgive all sins. Ameen.

0

u/vanilmirth_ap 26d ago

no she won't, Jahannam for eternity Ameen.

14

u/NateBerukAnjing Sep 28 '26

RIP, anyway both the husband and wife is centenarian? that's very rare, anyone know what their diet is? there must be something to it

15

u/Schatzin Sep 28 '26

Last time there was a video of them two eating dinner at home, and the portion they ate was sooo small. Their plate was like 1 ulas durian volume of rice and the dish of about the same size on the side.

Eating less is well documented to extend life, due to lower metabolism and oxidative stress on the body

11

u/DeliciousSociety7615 Sep 28 '26

I'm going to die early

6

u/MiniMeowl 29d ago

My fat ass is probably headed to an early grave..

5

u/Seal-EV 29d ago

I am 77 and I eat 2 thin slices of Danish sourdough bread with liver paste and cheese for breakfast. In the evening I have a very light meal. Thats it. I drink only water and lots of it.

10

u/anndrenalyn 29d ago

to be honest the secret is money. Tun spends tons on stem cell treatment etc.

3

u/No_Volume_5752 28d ago

The king has a crap tonne of money, even that didn't save one of his son Tunku Jalil from dying at the age of 25 years old.

getting young adult blood transfer, getting the best medical team in Malaysia/World, having infinite amount of money and no worry about money, and being evil all contributed.

2

u/Naive-Link5567 26d ago

Their actual diet;

They rarely eat rice.

(Real and not trying to joke).

Rest in peace Tun Siti, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother.

8

u/321aholiab Sep 28 '26

It really says a lot when half of the country (or more) hates her family but this thread is full of people wishing her well, except for one or two misplaced anger.

Salam takziah. Semoga amalan² arwah diterima, dibebaskan dari azab kubur dan dijauhkan dari api neraka. Amin.

6

u/davidtcf Sep 28 '26

RIP. Living till 100 yrs old already an accomplishment in itself. 👏👍

15

u/DegenNabalu Sep 28 '26

My condolences.

There is this dark myth, a husband who loves his wife so much is prone to the invisible "heartbroken attack". I dont like him one bit, but may he accept her departure with ease and grace. Thats a long love story. A carzy long love story.
