Mod Approved Monthly "Is My Cat A Maine Coon" Forum
If you're wondering if your cat is a MC, this is the place to ask!
In general, this subreddit operates under the assumption that having no papers means your cat is not a Maine Coon. However, what we can tell you is whether your cat does indeed exhibit any physical characteristics that look like those of a Maine Coon.

Bigs cats meeting Ajax (day 1)

We adopted him yesterday from our breeder, this was the first meeting. Cassidy and Saxon are having a great time getting to know Ajax. A few hisses and some growls to be expected. Tails in the air and mostly sniffs and rubs. 😻

Itty Bitty Kitty Committee My baby girl Essie!! almost 7 months
I adopted her in july from the humane society. her full name is Estrella Prue (prue was her name at the shelter) and i love her very very much! Since I adopted her I obv can't know 100%, but i am quite certain that shes mixed with maine coon to some extent. shes big and long and has several of the physical characteristics

Question Breeders In Texas
I am looking for Maine coon breeders in texas that won’t cost an arm and a leg. preferably around $2k-3k. I am in houston area so the closer the better but im willing to travel anywhere in texas to get one.

Question Pine pellets?
I've been reading a lot about kiln dried pine pellets for litter. Whats your experience? I use Dr Elsey's now. I was just hoping to find a more cost friendly option so I have even more money to blow on their freeze dried treats etc 🤣

Question Fussy eater!
As per the the title, had a pure bred Maine for 12 months, recently after a trip away I’ve come home to find he’s lost a bit of weight and completely gone off his wet food, only eating Royal Canin dry kibble, for a few months prior he’s slowly gone off eating the Royal Canin kitten wet food in gravy to now nothing at all.
I’ve tried him with various brands including Whiskas, Untamed, and some big names in jelly or gravy, even gone as far as cooking fresh chicken to no joy.
But overall I’m looking for any tips to get him back eating as normal on wet food for the added nutrients for growth!
For context, dad was a champion show cat of 11Kg, most recently my guy was around 8Kg
Thanks!
