That’s not Siri. Like it says, photo clean up & spatial image filters have nothing to do with Siri even if you can run them from Siri. Neither is the core of Apple Intelligence.

I believe Siri AI has separate models on top of this. AI does a lot more than just chat bots. You can install all of this and not even have Siri AI available.

Strange you have code generation models if you didn’t explicitly select them when installing Xcode. But again, not Siri.

Those numbers are bogus. All of Apple Intelligence is less than 30gb uncompressed.

Makes sense. Also I never explicitly mentioned that I didn’t install code generation 😅. I wanted to try it out but I’ve uninstalled it since I don’t use it anymore.

This is specifically the reason I’m not updating to macOS 27. And because Apple removed the option to delete all this shit!!

Yup. It’s stuff like this that’s making Linux look REAL good right now.

Real 🙌🏼.
I use all three OS’s, Mac for Office, Windows at home for gaming, and Arch as my personal laptop. I really love arch Linux especially with hyprland. But this AI shit being forced is ridiculous. I mean imagine people with a 256gb Mac. I used to be one of those people, and it’s unfair for them.

The “L” in “LLM” is for “large”.

This is through an app called “Purge”. It’s an open source cleaning software

That’s basically Apple version of their LLMs. Ai LLMS take up lot of space. for a text only LLM can take about 15-25 GB of space or so with 3rd party models.

i've installed this on macOS 27 and removed Apple AI completely. Now downlaod of macOS 27.2 update is stuck at 6,3 for nearly an hour. already tried the update twice. Maybe its related?

Is it still that way if we chose to turn off apple intelegence and siri?

For me it’s around 150gb but for the actual work, it’s shit tbh

Mine is bad, but not that bad. I'll try RemoveMacAI open source this week - fingers crossed. Google suggested some alternate manual steps too.

Hmmm I want my m1pro to last longer. This seems counter intuitive
