Is there even hope for a newer casual player?
Hello,
Started this game last year, got to level 14, and took a break due to work taking my time. Been thinking about it recently and so installed it last night and just booted it up to refresh myself a bit, do one quest and stop (here I come Tom Bombadil!).
I do recall liking the game and would like to make some more progress (I have some friends who would likely tag a long for dungeons, etc. which helps), but it just feels like without giving this all of my gaming time for multiple years, I don't stand a chance making any real progress. I am the gamer that tends to play multiple games at once, and working on finishing things in another MMO before it goes away in a few months.
I watched the Wolves of Mordor trailer, and it looked very fun and everything, but then seeing "Hundreds of hours of gameplay" was both like wow, and also like oh no I'm never going to get to anything current/updated.
Help a casual not give up! What can I do? Is it play through the main campaign to capped level (how many hours upon hours is that?), and then once capped, could I in then start playing the releases as they come out/buy older content if time allows, or do I have to play all the updates in order to progress like a normal MMO? Could I play updates not at capped level if I wanted, or does that not work (i.e. buy Wolves and have those "hundreds of hours" be my leveling experience on this or even a new character)? And also if I wanted to try a new class, are there options to have alts level faster either once my main us capped, or use alts to play through specific updates/DLCs if that makes sense?
I really enjoy this game and would like for it to be in my rotations but it just sometimes feels like a lost cause. Going to give some time to it this week, so any guidance here is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
