Other sub name
i know i will get downvoted for this (as I have seen this before so this is why i do not interact with people here anymore) but please in this point just rename this sub to sylkie/sylvie or at least write this somewhere so people are aware if they come here to discuss staff that you have bias - i understand we all have our prefeneces and that is ok, this sub is for people mainly who are prefere sylvie and the ship. that is 100% fair, however i think it is not fair for anyone else who comes here to talk about something else and you all downvote people who are not agreeing with you and have different opinions - so just be upfront about this it would be way easier to communicate if we know you all love sylvie and do not want to hear any criticism of the character (when i mean criticism i mean actual valid points not usless hate of course)
i am mentioning this becasue i have seen people got downvoted for only anwering questions respetfully (i am of course do not talk about hateful comments)
thank you

This is a Loki sub. I think it's the negative posters that forget it. Not the fans.
I think the problem you have with Reddit is it hasn't got an algorithm like other social media. You can't find an echo chamber of like minded individuals. This is just general fandom. Sylvie is a popular character whether certain corners of the fandom like it or not. I've seen some great debates on both sides of the conversation. And I have seen some silly things get down voted I grant you. But if you don't like the popular opinion then stick to subgroups and platforms that put you with like minded individuals.
If you share a controversial opinion about a popular character on Reddit it's going to get down voted no matter what it is. You can't go on a Ben & Jerry's sub and expect Upvotes if you post about how much you hate Ice Cream. 🤷🏼♀️
I suggest people share more positive posts about Loki, rather than wasting their time writing negative ones about Sylvie. And then maybe the sub would be a more constructive place. Write about what's unites rather than what divides.

but i had discussion on other subredits and i like to read different perspectives about different characters it is fun to read about why people disagree on topics, i like a good debate! i do not think it is negative to have questions about characters which could be unpopular until being rescpetful - this is why i do no understand the downvotes in general - but ok, maybe i was wrong about coming from my own perspactive as i am open for my favourites to be criticize and listen to people what could be the reason why they do not like the character, that of course won't nessecary change my mind but it makes me understand someone or the character better, but you are correct perhaps this is not the right place for this
(ok but if i go to a ben and jerry sub and i share that i do not like a flavour and i am curious why people like it that much that doesn't mean i hate ice cream)

Unfortunately I've noticed that people aren't generally open to a debate or differing opinions when they post about Sylvie. I have seen some great posts and discussions over the years on here but they aren't in the majority. Most posts about her are just hate filled, misogynistic and nasty. And people are tired. I know I am. I'm so tired of having the same arguments over and over and over again. About stuff that you can literally Google. Or stuff that's deliberately taken out of context. Or because so many today lack media literacy. So it's easier just to downvote at this point. 🤷🏼♀️ But that's just me.

I don't ship anyone. I don't do ships. I haven't seen hardly any posts about any of the various ships Loki has had over the years on this sub. If you have, it's because you interact with them, so the algorithm is showing you more of them.
I neither love nor dislike Sylvie, herself. I think the hate for her is overblown, personally, but that's about it.

Not a constructive post, u/hcoffeegirl . On the contrary, I've seen many thoughtful conversations here on r/loki about various aspects of Sylvie as a character and how she interacts with Loki. I personally am a fan of Sylvie as a character, and of her multifaceted relationship with Loki, but I'm happy to hear from people who have different views. I only have a problem when people are rude, dismissive, or openly biased (in any camp). Let fans like who they like, ship who they want, and see things their way - as long as they can respectfully hear other points of view. The whole point of Reddit is to discuss and debate things. If you want an echo chamber, go to Threads. :-/
